Are you winding us up? Can't find a link..

I got it at 16/1 yesterday afternoon, and it was down to 10/1 later on so it's moved really quickly over the weekend! It wasn't on there at all on Friday.

    Ava Max is now 4/1!

I don't think there would be much of a reach beyond the X Factor audience either, but I'm just saying he will be a popular winner with the audience and that could possibly be enough if #1 sales are as low as they have been last couple years. But it's probably released too early. The 12/1 I saw it at yesterday is probably about right!

I've put a cheeky bet on Ava as she seems to be gaining momentum at the right time. The only thing is though that we've no idea who's going to potentially release a single in the next few weeks! I don't want to totally rule out Dalton from X Factor either. He seems to be potentially the most popular winner in several years, and if by some miracle they get a good song you never know.

Anyone interesting in trading TOTP shows? Send me a PM

Thanks guys! I have thought about approaching a community station but I'm not sure how slick the show would sound if I was doing it live!
  8. Shawn Mendes - In My Blood Calum Scott & Leona Lewis - You Are The Reason James Arthur - Empty Space 5 Seconds Of Summer - Youngblood Bazzi - Mine

Heard "on the grapevine" that SLFN is coming back early next year! And whilst it still hasn't been announced yet, TOTP is definitely happening this Christmas still, whoop!
  10. Because it's nearly Christmas and he has an album to sell

Just a reminder that I do a little show on Mixcloud called Back 2 The 90s! It's basically me playing a load of classic hits and forgotten gems from the 1990s. It's been going almost a year now and we're up to show 21! On the latest show I've got A*Teens, Billie, Janet Jackson, Haddaway, Travis, Elton John, Salt-N-Pepa, 911, Basement Jaxx and many more! Check it out on Mixcloud now https://www.mixcloud.com/back2the90s/
  12. Not being on there is hugely detrimental too. Songs that have ended up being popular eventually have got nowhere on Spotify until they made it on Hot Hits.

Whilst it's less likely than before, I'd never rule out the X Factor winner. At least they are doing original songs now and if one year they get the right winner and the right song, get it on Spotify's playlists, and they're probably already well supported by Apple Music due to series tie-in with them, you never know, especially as sales in Christmas week aren't as high as they used to be.
  14. Very wise of James Arthur to have gone back to his old sound. Sounds like a hit.
  15. Tony Blackburn did it in 2012 but it wasn't just studio albums
  16. Anastacia covering Real McCoy :D
  17. Don't know who BAMR is but Caitlyn Vanbeck was an early bookies favourite on X Factor a couple years ago before being kicked out at Judges Houses
  18. Yeah but it's not like this new single has yet had any more promotion or exposure than the previous one. Why didn't people who are downloading this one download the last one? I am pleased though - I'd like to see them do well.
  19. It isn't that different! It's pretty much the download chart with a bit of airplay (and some mysterious boosts given to the likes of James Arthur) added in
  20. Most people probably don't realise that the chart is unofficial. Or they don't care. People are only really interested in who is #1 or just listening to the most popular songs generally. Who cares whether it's number 5 or number 8, it's still the same show as Radio 1 but the songs played in a slightly different order.
  21. I'm actually starting to notice a few double-a-sides, e.g. Billy Lockett's Fading Into Grey/My Only Soul which is getting played on Radio 2. I expect the rules are the same as they were in the late 2000s - as well as any physical sales, any download sales of the digital bundle go towards the chart position of the double-a-side, plus single tracks of the label's nominated track (not both). If the second track sells enough individual copies it will also chart by itself. The only occasion I am aware of this happening is when Leona Lewis was in the charts with both Better In Time/Footprints In The Sand AND Footprints In The Sand at the same time. I imagine streams of one of the tracks might count towards the double-a-side too now if anyone chart-worthy actually released one? Though it'd be a bit of a con because of course now even if they released a physical single with it, its chart position would be due to mostly streams of only one of the tracks.
  22. ..I'm still able to find new songs I like, though most of it never makes the top 100, and it has started becoming more difficult to find songs to my taste.
  23. We're missing the sort of timeless pop songs that have widespread appeal I feel. George Ezra's recent hits fit that bill but they seem few and far between compared to only a few years ago.

I kind of want it to go away and be quickly forgotten, so in a few years time when the right person becomes BBC TV Controller they can bring back TOTP. I know it's very unlikely, but not impossible!

Well, it says "Keep me posted". That's probably been like that since the end of the last series?
