  1. They've updated Starships now - 1,162,065 / 25,962 /1,188,027
  2. I suspect there won't be a separate listing published anymore though. Provided they give us similarly detailed breakdowns in future we can work it out, but they've changed the canon now, so it's not all good.
  3. Re-sorting the data by streams is a really interesting way of seeing which songs have stood the test of time!
  4. All the streams are at 1:100 ratio btw
  5. Is it the right thing combining them rather than just having two lists? At least they have broken it down for complete transparency, but I don't feel that the list means anything anymore.
  6. From OCC: Reaching one million sales of a single in the UK is one of the greatest and rarest pop music milestones; and for the first time the Official Charts Company is redefining the established milestone to include streams. This major change in chart history means the exclusive UK ‘Million Sellers Club’ opens its doors to showcase the mega hits coming through in the 21st Century - a selection of which are featured on a newly announced album Now That’s What I Call a Million. The compilation, released on October 13, showcases a selection of the “millionaires” of our time in a new way, with streams and sales combined, shining a spotlight on the huge smash hits occurring in this truly unique period in history, where there have never been so many ways to access our favourite music. Hitting a million sales has long been a highly sought-after landmark; only 169 tracks from some of the greatest musical artists of all time such as The Beatles, Elton John and Queen have achieved this marker in terms of pure sales in the 65-year history of the Official Chart. But with music consumption constantly evolving, and streaming now a dominant force in the singles market, so must the traditional Million Sellers hall of fame modernise in tandem. The updated milestone enables the industry to continue drawing a parallel between the hit singles of today with the historic successes of the past, and welcomes the cream of today’s artists to this exclusive club, which under the new sales and streams formula expands to just over 300 songs. The Killers' 2004 hit Mr Brightside, which opens the compilation, perfectly embodies this new era of modern musical millionaires. Originally released in 2004 to moderate chart success, The Killers’ Mr Brightside has seen its popularity soar extraordinarily in the digital age. Through the explosion of downloading in the mid-noughties and the coming of age of streaming in recent years – Mr Brightside has steadily gone on to become a genuine modern classic that continues to be discovered by subsequent generations of music fans. The ever-popular indie anthem still enjoys a constant presence on the Official Singles Chart more than a decade after its release, so far racking up 182 weeks on chart across its lifetime, 30 of those in 2017 alone.. Six tracks on the updated 'millionaires' list were released in 2017, including Ed Sheeran's Shape Of You, Clean Bandit's Symphony ft. Zara Larsson and Rag'n'Bone Man's Human. According to Official Charts Company data, in the last year alone 98m singles have been sold in the UK and music fans have generated an extraordinary 44 BILLION audio streams. 7. Nice song, but multi-tracked and auto-tuned to buggery
  8. I'm more shocked to discover that they were only in their early 30s in 1995!

  10. I reckon one each night if there's going to be results every show
  11. Billy - this sprung to mind, but I don't suppose it is this
  12. They hammered it to death as it was. Never got that.
  13. I had a horrible feeling Amy Lee had just died but then I realised, TXF :D

Sometime in October, and expected to be Friday 7.30pm
  15. The compilations on iTunes look foreign to me. Wouldn't be surprised if they aren't technically supposed to be on iTunes UK. It's weird actually because they are almost never included on UK compilations - you'd think because they deleted their back catalogue in May 1992 and refuse to be licenced. However, they have appeared on "The Greatest Dance Album Under The Sun!" in 1996, "Now Decades" in 2003, and "Now Years" in 2004, so it's not impossible to get them. Wonder why they've never shown up on a Ministry Of Sound comp or something like that. The White Room album was never deleted in the U.S. so imports were available in HMV here for years.
  16. Taylor's album is out November 10 according to @leethommo
  17. Funny that ACR can sometimes be really brutal and other times have no impact on chart position at all!
  18. you mean 3 or 4? We already have 2
  19. Yes and I expect they had very little choice in the matter!
  20. James Masterton is using the term for anyone whose career started before streaming! Which is a bit extreme
  21. I think it's as much to do with these "legacy" acts not being included on curated playlists. I think if Pink and The Script were at the top of Hot Hits UK they'd be doing really well on streaming too.
  22. I don't believe buying music will be dead in 10 years. A lot of people don't need access to everything and don't want to pay £10 a month for it. And as for streaming becoming old-fashioned.. what the heck would replace streaming? Even if the music is being beamed directly into our brains via microchips it'll still be streamed won't it?
  23. Wow @ More Than Friends. It's not an amazing cover but I approve of this sort of dance music coming back.
  24. If OCC haven't disqualified Kamaliya this week then they really aren't paying attention.
