I like Ed and I like Eyes Closed. It'll do fine, but don't see it being anywhere near as big as Bad Habits and Shivers. Wouldn't be surprised if he isn't expecting it to be either, based on some of the stuff he's said about the upcoming album.

Surely it's mostly based on the specific song/artist you played? I've been testing it out on various genres lately and it's quite a nice way of discovering new songs in a specific style. I did notice it threw it Loreen's Tattoo earlier though so it must do that a bit too.

Peter Andre - Kiss The Girl from '98 H & Claire - Beauty And The Beast from '02 These were officially tied to the film re-releases so are surely as valid as the Ashley Tisdale track?

The 75 EPs which made the Top 20 Singles chart
My understanding of an EP is that in theory all the tracks on it should be treated as equal A sides But evidently labels didn't always follow this, sometimes using it just to show off that all the tracks were new/different. The Nakasaki EP was a funny one because it was all remixes of the same song.

The re-emergence of CD singles
Surely the old 3 format rule remains in place though?

The re-emergence of CD singles
I am surprised that hasn't become a thing - you go into HMV and there's loads of lovely looking turntables. If they made CD players really nice looking, with bluetooth connection and everything maybe they would become fashionable again

Got a soft spot for that Schak track. Wonder if it can catch on. It reminds me of the sort of Northern dance stuff that used to do well in the early 2000s thanks to plays on The Box - who seem to be playing this every time I switch it on.

I know there are demographic differences between the DSPs, but it's kind of ridiculous with some of the differences between chart positions for certain songs. How can Lewis be top 10 on Apple and Amazon but only 45 on Spotify? Presumably it's largely due to playlist support?

Tom performed Another Love on the Hootenany so that might have been part of why it's climbed back as high as it has?

Capital & Heart's Big Top 40 Top Songs of 2022
Yeah probs a point system. The weekly chart is heavily weighted towards iTunes downloads rather than streams. And I suppose Cold Heart has been on the top 40 all year due to airplay.

Capital & Heart's Big Top 40 Top Songs of 2022
The order is a bit weird, but as a whole it represents 2022's hits better than the official one does in a way.

LadBaby & Martin Lewis cover Do They Know It's Christmas
I'm not anti them in principle, but in their latest video they've said "it's 99p - a hundred percent of it goes to the charity". Now they're out and out lying I don't want them to get to #1.

Is Digital Sales Data also not reliable then? http://www.digitalsalesdata.com/diydsd.php?Region=143444 I know it says "Since actual sales figures are no longer available, the following figures have been generated by a statistical model." It does seem unlikely he'd be doing less than 200 downloads a day

LadBaby & Martin Lewis cover Do They Know It's Christmas
The downloads are 99p and what record company? It'll be more than 7p. Plus the extra publicity they generate for the charity encourages donations. Last year they were said to have raised £200,000 from the singles.

What was the last decent Christmas #1 single?
It almost happened last year with the Ed & Elton song, so it will happen at some point. I think it's more likely to happen these days actually, because more new Christmas songs are recorded these days. Plus the new ones get an advantage from not being on ACR. So we'll probably get another one like that Ellie Goulding one sneaking it by being top of the Amazon playlist.

LadBaby & Martin Lewis cover Do They Know It's Christmas
The idea that everybody who has ever voted Tory, or Brexit, or whatever, cannot possibly care about poor people is ridiculous. And whilst clearly it is beneficial to their "career" to continue with these singles, that doesn't mean that they don't care about the charity they support. It doesn't have to be one or the other. I mean, all celebrities who ever do anything for charity are partly doing it for their career. And if everyone who ever started a charity or arranged a fundraising event and wasn't in someway partly doing it for their own ego then there wouldn't be much charity work done.

LadBaby & Martin Lewis cover Do They Know It's Christmas
It's just lookalikes of famous popstars with them in the video - and Martin Lewis. Obviously the song is awful, but I don't really mind. I find the self-righteousness of people getting upset about a charity record quite ludicrous. And I can't believe we're now cancelling people because they might have once voted for Boris Johnson in an election.
