  1. Hopefully the mess plays out before May this year instead of in Eurovision week itself. But would be great to see Moldova unwithdraw
  2. That’s exactly my point. It’s a separate app although it looks identical and runs the same way etc it’s still an entirely separate app behind the the great firewall
  3. Yeah, we’ve been sticking with 20 for consistency for a wee while now
  4. I think you’d be hard pushed to find evidence of GCHQ monitoring your social media usage but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen
  5. Tiktok isn’t available in China either…
  6. I don’t think this is the correct thing to do, it feels very much like Silicon Valley having a fit because it cannot compete against one of the extremely rare Chinese products that has gone global without the help of dumping or overwhelming tax breaks and state subsidies. This isn’t about fairness it’s about the monopolisation of the worlds data and its monetisation by Americans. I am generally uneasy about the fact that the Chinese state has access to user data but let’s not pretend as if the US Gov can’t and doesn’t lean on Meta etc. especially now that Musk is defacto president. TikTok has some serious issues with disinformation and political propaganda manipulating populations in election periods, but they’re not the only app to suffer from this, and Twitter literally just did this in the US and is now focusing on the UK and Germany. These are serious concerns that should be addressed and resolved but not with a ban. We’re not dictators. If trump changes his mind again I do worry that we will end up with a ban forced upon other states for fear of economy ruining tariffs, or worse that the western version of the app is forced into American hands

I used to go to Cinnemaxx which is a chain owned by Vue and has the same branding fonts etc. I used to go to Vue when I lived in Salford Quays so it’s a nice little reminder of home. Now that I’ve moved we use UCI Luxe which is an Odeon brand I believe. It is expensive but we got a discount via my boyfriends gym membership that made it reasonable. He’s changed gyms now so god knows where we will go if we find anything worth watching
  9. I’ve entered something that reminds me of the riviera
  10. Let’s see if Stefan can find the next Lena or if he’s not moved with the times and is still stuck in the pre-Satellites/Euphoria ESC

Aussie tour is underway! Shape has been added to the setlist but otherwise it’s the standard set. There’s a new hoodie on the merch stand. I’m not surprised the setlist is unchanged, I can see them dropping something new outside of the UK tbh. I read someone saying it felt more like a close of the last era than the start of the next one, whereas the UK and Europe tour will be the start of something new

    Two words: jury nullification.
  14. Distinct lack of two things: 1 - admission and acceptance that one particular delegation had absolutely zero respect for themselves or others in Malmö and are the reason this is required 2 - consequences for the violation of any of the new regulations and requirements.

I’ve tried critical analysis and debate, in fact the first paragraph contains plenty of it. Instead, as usual with you, it’s whataboutism and deflection to avoid having to look yourself in the mirror and hold yourself accountable for your blind spots.
  16. I think it’s been a fairly normal/average year for Rd‘Á. Consistent but not spectacular. So generally I’m pleased with that. The one exception of course was our surprise victory earlier in the year. That does elevate this year into a highly successful one and I’m still so pleased that we were able to stand in the winners circle again. Still a little shocked but that’s the joy of BJSC you never quite know what will resonate that month and so you stick to your guns, send things you love and maybe you’ll get a month where everyone agrees with you
  17. Congrats Kath and thanks Tom for the fab hosting!!! Happy to have made the final and had a semi respectable finish to 2024

I legitimately cannot even take you seriously. You have such tunnel vision on what you perceive as "crimes of the west" (that read as Russian propaganda 101, like did you get your talking points directly from TASS or did you let RT filter them first?), that you are blind to actual real threats. You're preoccupied by ghosts and yet the highest death toll of recent times is the Syrian civil war that was dragged out for as long as it was because of Russia and Iran - the two countries you are suspiciously silent on. I don't understand how anyone with more than 1 functioning brain cell can be a tankie in 2024. Honestly, you'd have to be thicker than the average Trump voter and their IQ is measured in single digits.

Russell gives off smarmy smug bully head boy vibes. He always has had this air about him but since going to Mercedes it’s just been far worse. To be fair to F1, this time it’s not the hosting fees. They know they only pack the grandstands because of max and the Dutch government is borderline hostile to the Grand Prix, and threatened to raise the VAT on tickets from 9% to 21%, so they’re bowing out before they go bankrupt due to the perfect storm of a complete lack of government support and a star that won’t be around forever Personally I think it’s premature to think they won’t still be able to hold a crowd after max but the lack of a supportive government is tough to overcome

I got the Sugababes from record day, and I’ve just preordered a signed copy of Dagny‘s Elle album. But I’ve been otherwise really good this year and not bought too much

First 2025 appearances are coming out! They’re going to Helsinki for the city festival there in mid June. Great to see them going further into europe
