I was actually contemplating the same. What with Jacqui, Brendan, Cheryl and co no longer on our screens, and I'm fast running out of reasons to tune in. The hype over this Roscoe unit doesn't fill me with excitement in the least. Robbie is played by a competent actor, but is alas a HORRID character. And if the older one introduced last week is anything to go by, we're essentially just in for another round of "let's throw 10 rogue lad stereotypes at the audience and hope they're distracted by the six packs" nonsense. I'm also finding myself permanently irritated by the way that very few characters ever face the consequences of their actions, and there is no point watching a show that irritates you. Between Robbie, Mercedes who doesn't seem to have to answer for anything, Ste reverting to unconvincing thug, Ruby escaping all accountability over the bullying saga, and not one but THREE murderers still roaming free in the village, it's all becoming a little tiresome. I understand soaps not wanting to always follow the "good guys win, bad guys lose" standard, but at the same time there does come a point where if there is never any payoff or comeuppance for anyone, you simply end up with no characters that the audience can root for or plot resolutions to eagerly anticipate. Who's really going to care about Mercedes' next scheme when we all know she won't pay for it? Also can I just say that the wedding episode was APPALLING (rushed scenes, dialogue with no depth whatsoever, terrible acting all around, and an unintentionally hilarious death scene), but the unexpectedly early Will reveal a tiny TRIUMPH. Not really. The character and the storylines for her back in the day were GREAT fun, but I don't think Gemma Bissix is ever going to be winning herself a BAFTA award. On top of Barney's departure, it's looking extremely likely that

These past few weeks have reminded me how HILARIOUSLY AWFUL Clare Devine is. She couldn't have been a ropier, more clichéd villain than if she'd waltzed in screaming for a dalmation fur coat. Coupled with the TERRIBLE Will/Texas saga, characterised by some truly sloppy editing (the stag party ep couldn't have felt more rushed) and some ATROCIOUS acting (I'm not one for naming names but having James Atherton lead a story is a recipe for disaster), and it does feel that the show is definitely on a bit of a comedown having lost all of their best characters this past year.

I feel rather aggrieved for The Corrs that they have been bundled in with this DISASTROUS LOT. As if they didn't have enough to contend with poor old crazy Jim... Who is this fool?
  17. Torple posted a post in a topic in Television
DES'REE TO "REUNITE" PLEASE The Corrs really wouldn't fit this show at all. For one thing, they were NEVER a manufactured plastic pop band and so would have to be treated completely differently/rehearse separately to the other acts on the show. They wouldn't be hanging around a studio practising dance routines. And on Mis-Teeq, would Alesha Dixon really agree to it?

Melissa McBride has stated on Twitter that she IS a series regular. Although frankly I don't think the distinction between series regular and recurring means ANYTHING on this show (ask Michael Rooke or Jeffrey DeMunn). Carol is now one of only five remaining from the Season 1.

I guess maybe that's the point of it. Perhaps Martha is SORELY lacking in screen time right now, as are all the Kanes. I'm not entirely sure what they're doing with Callum right now, they seem to have done a complete 180 with his character. He's gone from being an independent and moody intellectual to being a generic LAD trying to get off with 15 year old girls and being easily led by others. I don't think it's a change for the better.

I haven't watched in weeks, in fact the only episode I've watched this year was Zainab's exit. But Tanya and Phil?! Seriously? I presume this is the work of the same scriptwriter who put forward Denise & Fatboy last year. I predict we'll see Dot / Tamwar next.

I knew years ago that Dandu* would not be stopped as he one-by-one ASSASSINATES people in his unrelenting march to the top and his ultimate aim of a Buzzjack rebranded and solely devoted to recipes for cherry bakewells or fruity twists on the standard D&O. I speak as a former victim. Jester watch your back, there's only two spots in his way now. If we're speculating on new GMs as a concerned member of the public I would like to call for the long-overdue return of MIKU to his rightful place. Sausages ahoy.
