England vs Sweden
Indeed. Both England and myself were having an incredibly bipolar evening.
-
England vs Sweden
AMAZING This really is a very entertaining match, even if you do spend the entire time convinced England are going to have a sloppy 5 seconds, make a huge f***-up, and let a silly goal in (I still think this match will end 3-3).

Kate Nash - UNDER-ESTIMATE THE GIRL
What with this and the return of QUEEN TINA BARRETT within the space of a month, this truly is shaping up to be a year of LIFE-CHANGING POP OPUSES (or not as the case may be, as Kate is clearly now a hugely successful grunge star. Courtney Love can GO HOME.)

What a BLOODY shambles. This is why I don't watch sport regularly. 5 minutes later: I TAKE IT ALL BACK. HUZZAH FOR WALCOTT

Owl City - Good Time/The Midsummer Station
I love that we're all talking of Carly and Owl City as if this is on par with the Pope gracing your local vicar with his presence, when the reality is that right now she's in NO better position than he was two years ago. At this point in time she's also little more than a one-hit wonder. I'll be surprised if this does a thing.

X Factor 2012
I don't think the USA X-Factor thing will be too much of an issue. Being sacked by Simon Cowell hasn't stopped Cherly Cole. The whole Rachel Crow incident wasn't all THAT prolific over here, so it will only be the ITV2 viewers and internet gays who are even aware anything went down. And let's be honest, the whole fiasco was an absolute mountain out of a molehill. No judge on the UK X-Factor has ever faced SUCH a backlash over a elimination vote, even the ridiculous ones like Simon Cowell repeatedly saving Jedward. And the US public all too inconveniently forgot that it was their votes that sent Crow to last place. Having said all that, I can't say the prospect of her joining our panel particularly excites me. She was nice enough, but oh so very bland, and as it is it comes to something when the only personality on your show is Louis Walsh. I'd have much rather they'd have plumped for Geru or Anastacia, who would at least have provided some WTF banshee moments.

Big Brother Rankings //
I watched on-and-off from Series 1 to 4, and then really got into Series 5 to 7. Lost interest after that because increasingly they were going less for interesting and diverse mixes of people, and just a samey bunch of jack-the-lads and armies of blonde wannabe models, with a couple of screeching gays thrown in for good measure. From what I understand of the Channel 5 series', it's more of the same.

When I saw Dandy had just posted in the Big Brother thread, I ventured in fully believing I was in for a GEM of an ironic post. But alas, it seems he has abandoned all middle-class pretences! I am AGOG. Absolutely AGOG.

EastEnders
Roxy has grown on me this year, despite her bloody stupidity, and I actually quite like her with Alfie. Which makes EE's decision to have another On an unrelated note, Afia's exit was indeed SHIT, and based on a flimsy excuse. But on the plus side, I'm glad the aftermath is being treated light-heartedly, because the Masoods were a family who badly needed to go back to being FUN. Zainab in particular is becoming hilarious again. "I see a bike....ON A BIKE!"

EastEnders
I think I'm really the only one who isn't really that fussed about Sharon? All I see is another inevitable spanner in the works for Phil/Shirley (who surely don't need another one). Beyond that I don't really see where she fits in with the current cast, and we all know Letitia Dean isn't one for sticking around for any long stretch of time. On current storylines, I'm quite enjoying the Jean/Michael plot. It's been high time that Gillian Wright got a chance to lead her own storyline, and she's doing wonderfully. My only gripe is the obvious plothole of why people are so quick to assume Jean is making everything up. Yes she's unstable, but nearly all those involved are familiar enough with Michael to know he likes to play those sorts of tricks. It was only last year that he was caught out trying to convince everyone that Ronnie was insane, so Roxy of all people shouldn't be so easily taken in.

EastEnders
So EE are lining up what they believe to be a SHOCK new story, except it's surely one that will actually surprise NOBODY, is really quite tediously predictable, and in no way the best way to re-invigorate a tired character already known for this kind of nonsense. The only question is who the second party is.
