  1. Oh to be fair, more power to you for owning up to them! And in all honesty, by the time I get round to doing my own countdown, the phrase words "pot", "kettle" and "black" will all be making a big comeback.
  2. NEVER did I think I'd EVER be allocating points to WESTLIFE, but I really do ABHOR the only other alternatives (La Roux, Taylor Swift and Get Sexy would all also make wonderfully deserving -2s) +15 Michael Jackson - Man In The Mirror +12 James Morrison & Nelly Furtado - Broken Strings +10 Jay-Z & Alicia Keys - Empire State Of Mind +08 Rihanna - Russian Roulette +06 Noisettes - Don't Upset The Rhythm +05 Robbie Williams - Bodies +04 Leona Lewis - Happy +03 Mr Hudson - Supernova +02 Kid Cudi - Day N Nite +01 Westlife - What About Now -02 The Saturdays - Just Can't Get Enough
  3. Oh now Erase/Rewind IS a genuinely great record. It's one I always tend to forget about it, until it pops up on my shuffle and I fall back in love with it all over again. However some of these other choices are bland / utter cheese on a scale that even I can't defend :(

Although to be fair I can't see the sales being MUCH higher now than they were back then. Much as I like a good bit of M People, they're not exactly brimming with the sort of stone cold classics that still manage to shift thousands on a yearly basis on I-Tunes, perhaps Moving On Up aside.

  6. AMAZING. Being a female MOR singer, I of course adore Jewel; I would go with Down So Long being my favourite by her, although the radio edit (which I CANNOT find to purchase dammit) of What's Simple Is True is also BEAUTIFUL.

Oh HELL YES. Bizarrely they actually were my favourite EE characters at the time, what with me being a naive schoolboy who had no interest in whether actors could actually ACT or not. Whilst we're at it, can we PLEASE bring back Mick the cafe owner, Jules Tavernier and Shirley Benson's cat Boots? EDIT: Oh no we can't - Jules DIED :(

  9. You know, if Dandy wouldn't mind, I wouldn't say no to receiving his CD link (please?). It's about time I started attempting to do credible music.

Surely the most random return of them all - as posted on DS...

I'm not a regular Emmerdale viewer, but I thought Jackson's last episode was very well done. Pauline Quirke and Danny Miller were absolutely GUT-WRENCHING Inevitably it's sparked off the usual complaints to Ofcom from the Mary Whitehouse brigade.
  13. On A Night Like This is an OK record, and certainly it's dated much better than the flimsy handbag house of Spinning Around or the novelty Please Stay. But it is nevertheless a rather generic and uninspired track, and the turn of the century was FLOODED with dance acts who were genuinely doing it better.
  14. +15 Donell Jones - U Know What's Up +12 Artful Dodger - Movin' Too Fast +10 Daft Punk - One More Time +08 Sonique - Sky +06 Blink 182 - All The Small Things +05 Robbie Williams & Kylie Minogue - Kids +04 Sash! - Adelante +03 Samantha Mumba - Gotta Tell You +02 Sweet Female Attitude - Flowers +01 Moloko - The Time Is Now -02 Bomfunk MCs - Freestyler (I really HATE this)
  15. That's complete nonsense. Paula Abdul anybody? Dannii Minogue? Even J-Lo was in a bit a rut before she got taken on at American Idol. All it will do is mean that Cherly will be scrutinised even more by the media, so she'd better hope she's up to the job.
  16. Beyond the first few, what a load of utter GARBAGE. I have no choice but to... +15 Cheeky Girls – The Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum) - YES +12 Coldplay - In My Place +10 Oasis - Stop Crying Your Heart Out +08 Oasis - Little By Little +06 Justin Timberlake - Like I Love You +05 X-Press 2 - Lazy +04 Appleton - Fantasy +03 Pink - Get The Party Started +02 Kylie Minogue - Love At First Sight +01 Shakira - Whenever Wherever -02 S Club Juniors - One Step Closer
  17. Well I can honestly say that bar Imogen Heap and Alexis Taylor I have NEVER heard of ANY of Pavel's acts in my life. Which will of course put my own tracklisting to shame! And if Eurovision really ARE rejecting songs like 'Vardlokk' in favour of Jedward and Loreen NONSENSE, than all of the criticism is QUITE deserved. Also I am immensely proud of myself for getting the Hans Unstern languages correct.
  18. I don't REALLY get on what criteria how this list was compiled
  19. It's POOR Nicole Scherzinger I feel sorry for if this is true.
  20. Oh I can't be arsed with it all. I'm more pleased than ever that we are now RID of The Simon and Cherly Show ourselves.
  21. Unless Pavel objects, I can forward on the link that I received (which I think still works)?
  22. The Hard Candy cover art is MANY things, but it is as sexy as an wrinkled baboon's arse.

You should know better than to try and trump me when it comes to Corrs (or indeed any blandie) looning!

So just to prove me wrong, the album is top 30 in the midweeks. I would fully expect this to be sliding and struggling to make top 40 by the end of the week, but nevertheless it's better than expected.
