BJ CD SWAP #2 / review your cd here!
HUSH Silence is one of those few tracks that has hundreds of different versions, and all of which are quite brilliant. Although perhaps not as immediate as the trance versions, the Gregorian chant original of Silence is WONDERFUL. But it wasn't the version I featured on my CD. Tracklisting later this evening...

It's actually SACRILEGE to plump for a wishy-washy Tin Tin Out remix over the GLORIOUS power balladry of the original.

Caroldene is clearly NOTHING on Des'ree, and in fact I quite RESENT the implication. She's clearly more the new Heather Small.

Some wonderful stuff there; Robyn of course, Delerium (one of the best dance anthems of all time), Take That (who I hope have given up the anthemic manband sound now, because I don't think they will top The Flood again), and Sarah McLachlan; World On Fire just about manages to avoid being preachy and is instead a rather touching worldly lament. Gorgeous.

Well out of those Corrs tracks; one is of course UTTERLY WONDROUS (see the CD Swap thread), and one really isn't; Summer Sunshine was the epitome of the Corrs at their worst; lightweight, cheap and without any substance whatsoever.

Oh don't get me wrong, I don't find Christian appealing in the least either. Syed however...

He never did anything for me. A very plain face.

EastEnders
John-Paul was hardly likeable, and I never understood why all the internet gays looned over him. He was a selfish sod who actively went out of his way to seduce the fiance of one of his supposed friends. And then went actively out of his way to seduce a priest. I know he was "in love" and all that, but his character was JUST as self-driven, destructive and needy as Christian, if not more so.

Oh to be fair, more power to you for owning up to them! And in all honesty, by the time I get round to doing my own countdown, the phrase words "pot", "kettle" and "black" will all be making a big comeback.

Oh now Erase/Rewind IS a genuinely great record. It's one I always tend to forget about it, until it pops up on my shuffle and I fall back in love with it all over again. However some of these other choices are bland / utter cheese on a scale that even I can't defend :(

M People - sales anyone?
Although to be fair I can't see the sales being MUCH higher now than they were back then. Much as I like a good bit of M People, they're not exactly brimming with the sort of stone cold classics that still manage to shift thousands on a yearly basis on I-Tunes, perhaps Moving On Up aside.

AMAZING. Being a female MOR singer, I of course adore Jewel; I would go with Down So Long being my favourite by her, although the radio edit (which I CANNOT find to purchase dammit) of What's Simple Is True is also BEAUTIFUL.- EastEnders
Oh HELL YES. Bizarrely they actually were my favourite EE characters at the time, what with me being a naive schoolboy who had no interest in whether actors could actually ACT or not. Whilst we're at it, can we PLEASE bring back Mick the cafe owner, Jules Tavernier and Shirley Benson's cat Boots? EDIT: Oh no we can't - Jules DIED :(- Ultimate 21st Century Number Twos Rate

I'm not a regular Emmerdale viewer, but I thought Jackson's last episode was very well done. Pauline Quirke and Danny Miller were absolutely GUT-WRENCHING Inevitably it's sparked off the usual complaints to Ofcom from the Mary Whitehouse brigade.- Ultimate 21st Century Number Twos Rate
On A Night Like This is an OK record, and certainly it's dated much better than the flimsy handbag house of Spinning Around or the novelty Please Stay. But it is nevertheless a rather generic and uninspired track, and the turn of the century was FLOODED with dance acts who were genuinely doing it better.- Ultimate 21st Century Number Twos Rate

Well I can honestly say that bar Imogen Heap and Alexis Taylor I have NEVER heard of ANY of Pavel's acts in my life. Which will of course put my own tracklisting to shame! And if Eurovision really ARE rejecting songs like 'Vardlokk' in favour of Jedward and Loreen NONSENSE, than all of the criticism is QUITE deserved. Also I am immensely proud of myself for getting the Hans Unstern languages correct. - gooddelta's top 100 favourite songs ever!
