  2. I voted for Tell Tale Signs, though I could just as easily have voted for Heaven And Earth. I like them pretty evenly, but the others more. I wouldn't have got rid of Tears On My Pillow or My Secret Heart yet :(
  3. I have now voted ! B-) Estonia and Belgium were hardest to rank. I wanted to give out multiple 12's.
  4. Georgios Alkaios & Friends, Harel Skaat, and Robin Bengtsson deserved millions of more points. No exaggeration ! I always find myself singing Robin Bengtsson's You when I'm hoovering the stairs.
  5. I wish the cover versions had never happened. I love a good cover version, but I don't think theirs are any good. Their covers (of songs I love) probably stopped me becoming a fan of Girls Aloud before now. I only bought The Sound of Girls Aloud a few weeks ago. I uploaded the non-covers to my ipod , and found myself liking their other hits more than I'd expected. And so, I went back to Poundland last week and bought What Will The Neighbours Say, Chemistry, and Out of Control. Today, I bought Sound of The Underground, and Tangled Up from a second hand shop. So, I'll vote in the Albums Rate thread once I've become more familiar with what feels like a lot of songs that are new to me.

  8. ^^^ agreed ! I think of Where In the World as a forgotten classic.I haven't forgotten it,what with it being my #1 choice, but it rarely gets mentioned by other Kylie fans, which makes me root for it even more. I wish it had been a single.Or used for Eurovision.Or something.Anything for it to be out there. It needs to be heard by more people !! I'm very much a fan of old school kylie.I love her songs from her debut, right up to and including Fever. It took a million listens for me to like Impossible Princess but i got there in the end, even though it's not my kinda sound. I will always play the songs from 'Kylie' up to 'Fever',but after that she's been very hit 'n' miss for my taste. She has made some truly great albums where every track's a gem.....but it's been a while. I can barely put into words how much I disliked Body Language. I don't even have it anymore. The breathy whispery vocals on (pretty much every track as far as i remember) just irritated the life out of me.I had to get rid. I thought that I could force myself to like it,with repeated listens (like Impossible Princess),but sadly not. Disliked every track. Sorry. She won me back with I Believe In You,but then disappointed with Giving You Up. Hated 2hearts,but loved the other singles from X,but disliked the album tracks. I put the singles (except for 2 hearts) on my ipod, but haven't played the album tracks in yonks, and forget how most of them 'go'. I've not yet bought Aphrodite (oh you all hate me now dontcha ?!) I used to fall over myself in the rush to get my mitts on the latest Kylie album, but seeing as the last two albums were letdowns (imo),I don't feel (from the singles so far, pleasant enough but not that catchy) that Aphrodite is a 'must have'. Having said that,if I receive it for Christmas,I'll keep an open mind - but if it doesn't impress, then it'll end up where my copy of Body Language went to,looking for a new home in the nearest charity shop. Ooh reading that back,I sound very much like an EX Kylie fan ! I'm STILL a fan, honest !! I loved Wow,the One,and In My Arms, and they're all fairly recent - I'm just finding that old school Kylie (for me) made music where I could put on a cd and love it from beginning to end, without skipping past any tracks. There were X non album tracks floating about, that were stronger than the tracks that made it onto the album,so i think she still has the material,it's just (for whatever reason) not all coming together in album form. This was way too waffly a post.
  9. Very neatly compiled and laid out - and I love the postage stamp sized sleeves for each section. Well done !

  16. Geri gets my vote ,by a mile !! I've never bought an Emma cd but have liked a few of her singles,so I would buy her 'Best Of' too. Unsure about a Mel B collection.I'd have to go to youtube and remind myself of her singles.Possibly. I've only liked one Mel C single,so that would be a 'No'.
  17. I vote for 'Greatest Day'.

The interludes drive me up the wall. I put up with it for Rhythm Nation 1814 as I assumed it was a one off project.I bought the next 2 or 3 CD's (or recieived as gifts) but I just can't listen to them.Honestly, her interludes have stopped me from buying her albums. Please, somebody make her stop already. I still listen to her early material though, all the time - just not the 90s stuff onwards. All that badly acted ,fake giggling, moaning and groaning nonsense, just ruins the flow and gets in the way of some (otherwise) pretty good music. Call me old fashioned, but when I buy a cd by a singer ,I like to press 'play' and hear.....singing !
  19. My vote went to '2 Become 1' ,but I also adore 'Who Do You Think You Are'.
  20. It would have been another number one,for sure. Best single that never was !
  21. I vote for Lift me Up,but I don't mind which song wins,as they're all so wonderful. The charts haven't been the same without Geri !
  22. What I liked about the Spice Girls was that each of the girls got a look in.Their five voices were very different from each other and they all got to show what they could do - and in their videos, they all got similar amount of screen time,so everyones favourite was shown equally, pretty much. Girls Aloud seems to be all about Nadine and Cheryl.I don't know how the vocals are shared out as I don't own any of their albums, but any videos I've seen, those two girls appear to be on camera a lot more than the other three (and in the newspapers too) - which would be fair enough if they were the best singers. Are they ? I've read a few reviews on the net that have said that Sarah and Nicola are the strongest singers ! I ask any Girls Aloud fans here to rank their voices in order.I'd be interested to see if Cheryl and Nadine are at the top of everyones list.Fair play to them if they are the best though.
  23. Victoria - My Love Is For Real
  24. 'Love Never Loved Me' is the stand out track for me - it was just begging to be a single. That's my fav Geri song ever ! I also adore 'So I Give Up On Love' ! I would have loved at least 5 tracks to have been released as isngles. The album is very strong from start to finish.I wouldn't skip past any of the tracks, and she sounds amazing !
  25. I voted for 'Goodbye'.I love all the other singles but that song makes me yawn just thinking about it.
