Surprised to see Whitney hanging around (but very pleased :-)) Cheryl's still holding quite well I think.

I love it! Fave are Rain On Me, 3 Words, Parachute. I think the bad/average reviews are doing the same as I do when describing the album - it's good, but no GA. And tbh that's unfair - but I find myself thinking it all the time which makes me think well if GA albums are 4/5 out of 5, Cheryl can only be 3 - but it is mega - just not as good as GA. Not what I would call a 3 star album by my usual standards.

Ok, I'm really gonna backtrack here. After listen upon listen upon listen it's beginning to all fit into place. I felt the same with Butterfly, I hated Butterfly, thought it was just one big bland snoozefest but something clicked and it's now my fave Mariah album :D :wub: Memoirs is heading in that direction - it's the deep introspective, personal lyrics and beats they suddenly capture you. It's by no means commercial - all we can hope is that people buy it cos of Obsessed and Know What Love Is ;) Anyway, loving: Betcha Gon' Know (love - 'u ok, I'm like mm alright' :wub: ), H.A.T.E.U, Up Out My Face, Ribbon (can't get this out my head!!) and old school Languishing. But standout is by far Angels Cry - that and Know What Love Is are 2 of the best Mariah tracks in years - absolutely perfect and stunning, make me wanna cry, they're just :heart: I love how this follows the old Mariah style of: 1 cover version (Open Arms, without you, Beautiful Ones, Against All Odds, Bringin On The Heartbreak) Know What Love Is A song about being insecure (Outside, Close My Eyes, Petals, Sunflowers) Languishing A killer 1st single (Fantasy, Honey) Obsessed She's back on track for me :-) quick q: I always think Janet's are very boring, but never perservere like I do with Mariah - do they 'click' too??

Cheryl's performance was outstanding, everything about it - not one thing was bad. Lead looking great for Cheryl, hope Alex still sells well this week! Anyone else a bit shocked about the group performance being mimed??? It's a shame when this gets overlooked but every second of Cheryl's has been nit-picked here... Anyway Go Cheryl!

Just had a random thought - maybe the release was pushed back for an X Factor performance????? A lá Whitney? If so I'm sure she'll do well in the important christmas market so long as, and only if she KILLS the What Love Is performance. This whole era is really upsetting me - delayed release, obsessed mess up, floppage in US (by Mariah's standards) I mean how can you go from 1st week sales of e=mc to this?! People must've not liked e=mc... :o or felt there was nothing new or exciting this time round. I think this will be the first Mariah album that I don't like :-( I'd rather wait 3 years for something fresh than the drivle that has filled this album up! Hate U is just 'what???' for fans that like the breathey vocals then good, but for the average joe bloggs - this is just boring. Mariah is now boring :-( :cry:

lol I only imported the english songs on my iTunes - can't stand the Spanish ones! Loving the album - standouts for me being Gypsy, Men In Town and Mon Amour. Really wish there was an Underneath Your Clothes/Illegal song on here - anyone else think beginning of Why Wait sounds like mash up of Milkshake and Gimme More??? Love it! She surprised me, like her others I thought, oh go on, I'll get it, I never get excited for her albums but this is very good. Outshone Saturdays for me this week, still, album of year? Not yet - something mega has to topple Jordin :D

:o Geri is my Idol, but i agree, the times I've seen her at signings it's very hit and miss as to whether she'll bother with you - like she is desperate to be nice when she wants something, once she's got it or things aren't going her way she just clams up and seems so cold (i got that feeling with her on the concerts so started feeling Emma love for a while) :D I don't want a reunion - the first did for me exactly what they said it should be - a final goodbye and thank you to the fans. I went, laughed, cried, shouted, screamed and everything knowing it was my last time to see them. I've closed the book, everything's wrapped up for me now, a dvd would be nice, but honestly, i don't want this rearing it's head every 3/4 years... I just want another Geri album!!!!!! lol

Only me for Loverboy :kink: I love Loverboy and Through The Rain in equal measures though :wub: though Honey, Fantasy and Heartbreaker were all strong fresh singles.

As expected my fave's don't get a look in: American Pie Rain Playground Oh Father True Blue So typical - I expected this to happen - why not do a 3-cd set for the fans :angry: this is the only way to keep everyone happy Oh well - i'll keep with my own iPod playlist least this has every single! Dreading the DVD tracklist now :( oh god just noticed no You'll See???!!! What a load of poo! I was just getting excited for this too :( AS IF the fans had a say in this tracklisting!!!!

Erm... yes :wacko: C'mon, this is her second album - where most reality singers form their 'sound', and while I like it, there's no overall style to her. Rihanna and Leona don't have identities lol funniest thing I've heard all week!!!

Walking on Snow - 8/10 - Like this, I thik Jordin has her niche in mid-tempo Battlefield - 10/10 - Get your armour :wub: Dont Let it go to your head - 8/10 SOS - 9/10 - LOVE this, reminds me of Rihanna, Breakin Dishes It takes more - 5/10 - blah Watch U GO - 5/10 - blah2 No Parade - 9/10 - Vocals at beginning VERY Halo! Likin this Let it rain - 8/10 - better than good Emergency 911 - 9/10 - This song is almost like a Rihanna tribute!!!!!!!!!!! Was I the Only one - 5/10 - blah3 Faith - 1/10 - blah4 The Cure - 9/10 - AMAZING. But my God it sounds like it was written for Leona (very Better In Time). Overall: I think Jordin has a serious identity problem. I really do like her, but this album reaks of other people, with very little originality, and that which is there, to be honest sends me to sleep. It's pretty cheap everywhere so I recommend it (esp. if you already got Battlefield and then 'complete my album' on iTunes for £6.20 - deluxe edition!! Mega value!). Otherwise, just download the one's everyone's talking about - it'll get you by until Leona, Rihanna, etc. come back. Must try harder Jordin! (But I still love you!)

Without a doubt no.1 and I agree, with one of the highest first week sales this year.
