  2. East Germany, USSR, North Korea, Venezuela...
  3. How are video views weighted relative to paid streams? Rather low, I suspect?
  4. An economy which doesn't have an uneven distribution of wealth is not the utopia you believe it to be. If you people with wealth 'til their pips squeak' they will simply take their money & leave the country - and if you overpay the less talented, they will become lazy, knowing their income stream is guaranteed. Granted, that is an extreme example, but everyone suffers by too much gov't control in the markets nonetheless.
  5. Are they in control of the EU's spending?
  6. News flash- Obama left the White House 3 years ago!
  7. Well the economy is apparently doing ok...
  8. EU accused of seeking to cut funds for poor in post-Brexit cost savings https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/dec/...it-cost-savings ***************************** Their true nature showing through?
  9. Conflict of interest? Tony Blair 'was bidding for contracts with the EU for his 'institute for global change' as he campaigned against Brexit' https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-78...nst-Brexit.html

Not here perhaps, but IMO it does need discussing, because ATM it feels like the definition has become absurdly wide - basically including anyone who questions the 'progressive/PC' agenda.
  11. But we've seen for the last few years how coalitions tend to prevent, rather than enable, radical change - as compromises have to be constantly made to satisfy coalition partners. Not to mention what can happen to a party's support when they have to compromise on their manifestos (e.g. LD's 2010-2015].
  12. What've you got against Ellie, anyway?
  13. I got it elsewhere due to the £10 minimum for free delivery on Amazon (I absolutely refuse to sign up for Amazon Prime!)
  14. The weird thing is, the late voters still didn't reflect the actual result.
  15. I was attempting to be circumspect by just using initials.
  16. I suspect Stormzy will climb to #1 by default (*) next week, as the Xmas songs drop away. * i.e. despite a sales decline himself.
  17. At least he's moved on from the GE/JC...
  18. Just ordered my copy of 2020 - the 17th year in a row that I've bought a Kylie Calendar. :cheer:
  19. 1. They are not elected under the banner of the far-right, and they surely never could be under FPTP 2. And look what good that does them - it makes their host party unelectable e.g. Militant Tendency ; Momentum. 3a. The electorate didn't think so 3b. You have a very low opinion of the electorate if you think they can't see though media bias and make up their own minds
  20. 42k, 3029k, No info That's roughly the figure I used.
  21. I haven't followed football for a number of years - WTF did Bournmouth get in the Premier League? :o
  22. We don't go by European standards here - we've never been close to electing a far-right politician at national level, and only one or two Communist MPs, many decades ago. For all FPTP's faults, it does at least prevent extremists from getting a foothold. How about the electorate realizing it?
  23. You said there'd be a youthquake in the GE too, don't forget...
  24. BTW, have people actually added votes to this threads poll *after* the election - the numbers look different?
