  1. I am a sheep. 07 Are You Satisfied? 09 Shampain - I love how simple it is. 04 I Am Not A Robot 03 Girls 09 Mowgli's Road 10 Obsessions 09 Hollywood 09 The Outsider 07 Hermit The Frog 07 Oh No! 08 Rootless 07 Numb 09 Guilty I think it's good. Better than I though from first listen anyway. There's a few filler tracks ('Girls' is really poor...) but there's enough quality there to make it a good album.
  2. That one.

  5. Maybe it's JUST ME but I don't see what is so amazing about the record. I have only listened twice but it certainly didn't come near "record of the decade so far" standard. I'd rate it in the top five this year, but I don't think it's as good as Owen Pallett, These New Puritans or Vampire Weekends new album. And I doubt it will come up to the level of Joanna Newsom's album when I get round to listening to that. Still, will probably grow on me. (:
  6. It just sounds like background music... I'm really disappointed considering how much I enjoyed 'The Midnight Organ Fight'. I'll give it a chance to grow though.
  7. Don't think it's great, Ashford. :(

  10. Wow, I know it's a cliché but this does get better with every listen. It's really just an updated version of their previous album; not a lot has changed but there is enough for it to sound fresh.

I had a look at that Aaron person and I don't get the attraction with him if I'm honest. :(

I just love the intro / Katy Perry's verse in 'Starstrukk' so much. Oh and the "I just set them up..." bit as well. Weird 'cos I thought 'Don't Trust Me' was horrible and not even in a good way. ;o 'Echo' just doesn't go. Lyrically it's nothing we haven't heard before, and all three women in the group have no connecton with each other whatsoever but it's good stuff anyway. Yeah, and he let me down when he got off with Holly Valance in that video. Ha, what is it? and I don't see how you cannot remember Kieran, he is the one who has a pic on this very forum. LOOK HIM UP. Isn't there someone even younger on here now? Like Brayfish or something, he's about 12 ain't he? He has to be initiated next if I am correct. I know, the shame. I've actually just finished listening to Grizzly Bear 72 hours straight in an attempt to make them love me again.

I think it's out now, so I imagine it's on Spotify now. Yeah the whole 'Fireflies' thing is annoying. I don't want to listen to the whole album (single was poor and I've heard nothing but bad things about it). He just looks like a tool as well. And the video is all sorts of annoying. 'tis a shame the charts at the moment are between him and f***ing Iyaz. :manson: Oh don't get me wrong, the song is rubbish, but like 'Starstrukk' it seems to have stuck in my head. The prophecy is wrong unfortunately. I don't even see the attractiveness in Frankmusik that much anymore. :| Still think Kieran's a bird mind. I don't know Theo - I thought HARVE was next on the list? Nah, I can't get into all that early stuff either. I don't mind the few albums before 'MPP' but any of the stuff before that is like  for me. I hate to say it, but I am one of the followers who joined the AC fan club last year. Boo boo.

I am good thanks! Nice to see you posting on here, shame CHC seems to have gone for now. I think 'Cousins' is okay, it would be an decent album track on their last one but it definitely isn't one of the highlights of 'Contra'. Most of the stuff on there I like / think is okay, don't really like f*** Buttons or Tricky very much but a good list I think. I agree on Sufjan, but I would really like to hear a brand new record from him. All I've read so far seems to suggest that it might be a while away yet. :/ I'm mainly listening to 'Contra' and 'Heartland' atm, I need to get round to listening to the new Los Campesinos! album but I've been listening to the previous two so much I haven't really had chance haha. Oh and These New Puritans as well - I've heard good things about their new album. :D

Oh you need to listen to it. I've had it on non stop over the last weeks. I haven't even listened to the new Owen Pallett / Los Campesinos! records that much because of how good it is. Hmm, well I've missed that but I think the next episode is on E4 some time in the week so I shall give it a watch. I heard their cover of 'Don't Stop Believin'' earlier and thought it was horrible but I'll give it a chance. 'Acolyte' is boring. You have to be pretty bored to want to listen to it. I've listened to it once and it nearly killed me. :/ I shall listen to it on Spotify and get back to you. She sounds... interesting I guess. It doesn't matter if Postal Service never come back you should never, ever, listen to something as p***-poor as 'Fireflies'. It's not even a good rip-off. The lyrics are embarrassing as well but it looks like I'm not gonna change your mind so -_- . 'Hurtful' sounds like one of them bad Eurovision entries. Oh wait, they're all bad. SORRY. All of them apart from 'Irlande Douze Points' that is. Oh and 'Divine' - that was wow. If you need some sort of guilty pleasure then you should listen to Girls Can't Catch 'Echo'; it's not really a good song but I've listened to it countless times over the past few days. Maybe I love it, or maybe I just love the video with two of the fittest girls evah. Who knows. Oh don't get the Pitchfork lads onto me, I can't cope. Last year they sent a team round and killed me with 172891 reasons why I should only listen to 'Merriweather Post Pavilion' and it worked. I don't want that anymore. :(

Oh ye had me worried then. 'Replay' is second to only 'Fireflies' as the worst single of the year. 01:02|Yeasayer "Ambling Alp" 18:07:05:04:02:02:01 - I think this is pretty good. It's quite a bit removed from their previous sound and I certainly like the change. Do you have the album / is it any good? 02:07|The Knife with Mt. Sims & Planningtorock "Colouring Of Pigeons" 07:02 - This is something I really want to like but just don't. I'm not a big fan of The Knife and I wasn't overly impressed with the Fever Ray album last year. I can see why people would like it but I don't. 03:01|Portishead "Chase The Tear" 03:03:02:01:01:03 - Kind of the like #02. I didn't get the big fuss for them when they released 'Third' a few years ago and I don't really get the fuss for this either. 04:03|Sébastien Tellier "L'amour et la Violence" 01:01:03:03:04 - Think this is okay. No major love for it though. 05:21|Róisín Murphy "Momma's Place" 21:05 - Alright, doesn't come near 'You Know Me Better' though I think. 06:13|Simian Mobile Disco "Cruel Intentions" 40:21:13:06 - I don't think much to this. We've heard it all before from SMD and it just sounds like a standard dance track to me. Nothing special. The new album really let me down. 07:04|Florence And The Machine "You've Got The Love" 34:23:15:11:08:13:14:17:19:08:04:07 - Don't get me wrong, I loved it when I first heard it over a year ago(?) now, but as I've heard it more and more it has started to grate on me more and more. I think it's great that she's getting some real success with this, but I'd much prefer if it was an original song (like the stunning 'Cosmic Love') that was doing so well. 08:05|Lady Gaga "Bad Romance" 09:01:01:01:01:01:02:02:02:03:04:05:08 - Kind of like #07 I guess. Loved it for a while, now I only like it and the more I heard it the more I realise she has better songs. I wouldn't rate it above 'Just Dance' or 'Poker Face' anyway. 09:00|Jay Electronica "Exhibit C" NEW - Not really my sort of thing. It's not bad though. 10:19|Hurts "Wonderful Life" 28:19:10 - Not into this. They sound a bit like Wham! I think. :S What albums are you liking atm Dandy?

releases; week #03 2010 singles; This week is another slow one in terms of single physical releases. Perhaps the single which will make the most impact on the chart is Alexandra Burke’s ‘Broken Heels’. The second single released off of her debut record ‘Overcome’ will have a lot to do to overtake hit singles ‘Hallelujah’ (released as she won The X Factor back in 2008) and ‘Bad Boys’ (which featured American rapper Flo Rida) in terms of sales, but it does currently sit in the top 10 of the iTunes chart so perhaps it wouldn’t be too much to expect for it to make the top 5 come Sunday 24th’s chart. This week also sees the release of the second single from 3-piece girlband Girls Can’t Catch; ‘Echo’ will be the follow up to ‘Keep Your Head Up’, which reached #26 late last year. The band do have a bit of a back story; member Phoebe Brown was part of girlband Hope who made the top 5 of The X Factor live shows back in 2007. The band were fully formed in 2009 and are signed to Fascination records which houses artists such as Girls Aloud, The Saturdays and Miley Cyrus amongst others. It remains to be seen whether this group will have anywhere near the success of the aforementioned artists, but in a relatively slow release week, the girls will no doubt hoping for a chart placing ahead of #26. Other physical releases this week include N-Dubz and Mr. Hudson’s ‘Playing With Fire’; the second release from their top 5 album ‘Against All Odds’. With Hudson increasing popularity and the fact that the single is hovering around the top 10 of the iTunes, it wouldn’t be surprising to see this track becoming the London collective’s fourth top 10 single. Hurts, who were fourth in this years BBC Sound of 2010 poll, release ‘Wonderful Life’ on limited edition 12” and Biffy Clyro release the fourth single from last year’s ‘Only Revolution’, ‘Many of Horror’. On the download only side of things, one of 2010 most hotly tipped bands Chew Lips put out the first single from debut record ’Unicorn’ titled ’Play Together’. Other releases are by Private, Roisin Murphy and eighth release In Ash’s A-Z singles collection, titled ’Space Shot’. albums; On the album front, this coming week sees new albums by the likes of Lostphrophets, Owen Pallett and These New Puritans amongst others. ‘The Betrayed’ is the fourth record from Welsh rock band Lostphophets and follows up latest single ‘Where We Belong’. Last album ‘Liberation Transmission’ reached #01 when released back in 2006 and it is expected that this album will do similarly well. Owen Pallett releases his first record under his own name this week, having previously gone under the Final Fantasy moniker. This record, his third, is his first release since 2008’s double EP’s ‘Spectrum, 14th Century’ and ‘Pays to Please’, and has already been received very well by reviewers and the like. These New Puritans bring out second record ‘Hidden’ this week, and they will be hoping that it charts better than previous effort ’Beat Pyramid’, which despite the high critical praise failed to set the chart alight. This new record, preceded by 7½ minute epic single ’We Want War’, was mixed by Dave Cooley. Other releases include Eels ’End Times’, Fyfe Dangerfield ‘Fly Yellow Moon’ and One Republic ‘Waking Up’. in depth; You can read more about this weeks releases on the main reviews site, just check out the Upcoming Releases on the left hand side of the page.

How correct am I? 04 • 03 { Marina and the Diamonds – Hollywood [20-08-10-03-04 • 5wks] - Grown on me greatly since I first heard it. Have you heard the new Vampire Weekend album?
  21. I don't like the production on this new version... and the song wasn't that good to begin with.

releases; week #02 2010 singles; This week is another slow week, with only six singles getting a full release. Guillemots lead single Fyfe Dangerfield releases his debut solo single 'She Needs Me'; taken of his debut record 'Fly Yellow Moon', set for release next week. Coming off the back of four top 40 singles, and two top 20 albums with his band, it will be interesting to see what impact he has on the chart this coming week. We also see limited releases with new singles by Good Shoes and These New Puritans respectively, although both are doubtful to make an effect on the chart this week. On the download side of things, there are a few major releases which could catch peoples attention this week. We see the release of Jay-Z's new single 'Young Forever', which features Kanye West protégé Mr. Hudson. Jay-Z (real name Shawn Carter), will be looking to build on mega hits 'Run This Town' and 'Empire State of Mind'. The song has already reached #27 in the UK, and will no doubt climb the chart with increased publicity and video play in the coming weeks. Carter's latest record 'The Blueprint 3' has already sold well over two million copies worldwide since its release last September. Also released this week is Jordin Sparks' third UK single from her second album 'Battlefield', named 'Don't Let it Go To Your Head'. Both previous releases from her second record have made their way into the UK top 20, but with limited publicity for this new release it remains to be seen if this one can match up in the charts. Also this week we see new releases from 'Stop and Stare' stars OneRepublic with 'All The Right Moves', Paolo Nutini with '10/10' and punk rock band Alkaline Trio with 'This Addiction', amongst others. albums; Vampire Weekend present their second album 'Contra' this week, the follow up to critically acclaimed self-titled debut record. 'Contra' includes the single 'Cousins' and the free release from last year 'Horchata', and you can listen to it all on their official Myspace page. 'Contra' has been met with similarly strong reviews by most music critics, and it will be interesting to see how well the record does in the chart over the coming weeks. In the case of their debut album, it charted strongly to start but as mainstream coverage increased, it finally made a peak of #15 nearly three months after initial release, and went on to spend over 35 weeks over the chart. Manchester born indie band Delphic release their debut album 'Acolyte' this week off the back of a lot of mainstream press and hype surrounding the band in the past few weeks. The band, said to sound a bit like Bloc Party, have also been named #3 on the BBC Sound of 2010 list, and whilst that can help a lot of acts, others haven't been able to deal with the pressure that this new found 'fame' brings. Other releases this week include You Me at Six's second release 'Hold Me Down', the follow up to their 2008's #25 album 'Take Off Your Colours'. The band have built up a bit of a following over the last few years, so I would expect this album to do as well if not better than their previous album. Dutch Pop start Esmee Denters releases her debut record 'Outta Here' in the UK as well this week, despite it already being available in other countries since early last year. Her only over previous hit in the UK was the single of the same name as the album; 'Outta Here' made #07 back in August 2009. Also released are All Angels 'Fly Away', Ok Go 'Of the Blue Colour of the Sky' and Sinitta's 'Greatest Hits'. in depth; Check out these reviews from the review section: You Me At Six 'Hold Me Down' Jay-Z 'Young Forever' (feat. Mr. Hudson) Alkaline Trio 'This Addiction' OneRepublic 'All The Right Moves' Fyfe Dangerfield 'She Needs Me' Plan B 'Stay Too Long' Vampire Weekend 'Contra'
