Yes, we do try and get the Back Issues out as quickly as possible - it's just that we are checking, each week, over 600 positions for the current issue and so to double that for the back issues - and to do the same for adding in the Year End sets as well means that things must be prioritized with the result that we can't really have a set day for issuing the back issues. We try, but the current issue takes priority. And I know nobody was complaining, so please don't read the above as any more than comments rather than an irritated comment! It's not meant to sound irritated!

What I meant was that it would be similar to the Welsh Chart positions in that few would actually be shown....

It has been suggested that NES for albums is included, but initially we are trying to simply keep gong as Herman set it up and make sure we can do that right before extending or altering anything. The Scottish Singles and albums and the welsh albums charts are actually rather vibrant a present with lots of songs charting on both which is nice to see. However, the Welsh Singles skips between a Top 20 and Top 30 for some reason. If we did show the Physical Only chart - we don't get this at present - I would suggest that you'd see very few songs on that list similar to the main chart - 96% of the market is downloads afterall. At present we are simply carrying on as was but we all (that is, the team) have ideas about improving or adding to CP once we have got things working right.

True - but we'd like to be right. After all, with no Chart Books (okay, there's Virgin.... as I said - no chart books :D) we are, basically, the only place showcasing artist histories. If we're not 100% accurate each week - as far as we humanly can be.... :D

I could. You have to go through with a fine tooth comb to see. It is something minor (in some ways - major in others!) but none the less....

They are produced and MW used to print them. They did not this year and can't recall about last year. I don't know if the Charts Plus YE special will have them.

RE Abba Gold - I split the 2004 re-issue chart run so that is a 'new' record. Otherwise I'd have conflicts with the same record on the chart twice. I am only missing positions 101-200 for 1994 to 1996 and am not missing any Top 200 positions since November 1996, up to and including the current chart (Missing some data from 18 oct but thats it).

In contrast, 121 albums have spent 100 or more weeks in the various sized album charts since 1956. I take, here, the Top 75 from 14 Jan 1989 to today because that is what the books use. Also, I do not have complete Top 200's before 1996.... I have split some albums - the longest running - by CD Re-Issue, so Queen's Greatest hits appears twice. This is becaus eof the way the titles are stored within my database. Their are also far fewer tied placings. Been reading this with interest and I post some lists for you. This is taken from my database and includes Singles from 15 Nov 1952 to 13 Dec 2008. The data is Top 75 (May 1978 to today) and Top 50 etc before 1978. Comments welcome - particularly if you spot any errors! I list the 141 records to spend more than 25 weeks in the Top 75 and rank them all in order, firstly by total weeks, then entry date and then peak position. If the week count is the same then the position in the list is tied. The problem is that few people subscribe ONLY for the Airplay. Most subscribe for the Singles/Albums etc. And, as has been said by others, we offer a complete service. My understanding is that each subscriber will be given a few options when the magazine returns. These might be that they can either have the missing issues (as and when we make them, cos we have not made three in the middle yet!) or have issues bolted on to the end of their subscription. So instead of your sub ending in Week 1 in jan 09, it ends Week 7 in jan 09, etc. Though that is only one suggestion and may NOT happen! What we will do is look at this and I shall ask if something like this is possible. It may not be though! But we shall see.

Mariah Carey is going to be a strong Top 10 contender - she's already creeping into the Top 40 and has been around for ages in the 200. Well, a few weeks. Seems like ages.... 8 or 9 christmas songs already in the 200 this last week. The real question though - will Christmas songs make everybody happy or miserable this year? With a recession, do we really see lots of sales? :D

In order to add the TV Airplay we would need, firstly, the archive. My understanding is that it is simply a Top 40 chart, but I never looked into it too much. If you have any typed TV Airplay charts from when it started (2003) and want to send to me in Excel, then feel free :D :D :wub:

Okay, you caught me! I think that the emails that have gone out to all subscribers imply a 'when' not an 'if'. We just, as I said, need the go ahead from one party. :D

The problem is that we have roughly enough subscribers to equal the cost to C+ so if we loose a subscriber (well, more like three or four) then the costs must go up for all. Obviously, the more we get will mean price rises can be held off and could, in the longer term, lead to reductions. It isn't profit making but it does try and have a little profit in the kitty in case somebody stops subscribing so that the whole house of cards does not fall down. As to the charts contained within - when C+ comes back it will have the same charts as before. We have discussed adding/subtracting charts from the magazine and that would only happen with an eye to what people actually want. if, for example, nobody wanted, say, the Digital Top 40 chart, then it would be dropped. Now, I know that is not the case, just an example. We are more likely to add rather than take away. When it comes back email us as to what charts you do want added and we shall see when we can afford to add charts.
