  1. I am so pleased he made alot of money with his tour, silly isn't it? Here he is getting richer and I am getting poorer lol. It does seem that touring is the main revenue these days. Elton or the Rolling Stones have not had mega sales with their albums or singles, I cannot remember when they were last in the charts. Yet they make a huge lot of money thru touring. Just think if Robbie had broke America and toured he would have been making double that amount, still it is something he does not want to do. At least he is being honest. I feel Robbie would have been No.1 too if he didn't cancel his tour of Asia. So good one Robbie! I am sure he will invest his money wisely.
  2. We are all still voting arn't we? Come on!! Robbie is the best live act.
  3. Promotion, she is signed to EMI. They don't know what promo is or how to do it. I thought she would have had a No.1. The UK market is very unpredictable. Which is good, new and exciting bands seem to be hot fav at the moment.
  4. thanks for the info. Wow, great big jump for Robbie.

one big nick from Queen if you ask me. I can see the appeal, I think -_- . Catchy song but that is about all. Where is the charisma they are all talking about.
  6. because it is pre-determinded they know who has been nominated and they know who has won!
  7. I think the Brits, the music industry have put Robbie in a very difficult and could be humiliating position. I don't know how Robbie feels, but I know how I feel and this is soooooo wrong. A very cynical and unfair move on their part. It is almost like they have wiped out 10 years of spectacular success and asking him to turn up to hand out an award in a year when, yet again, he does not win one! He should WIN 'Best Live Act, but knowing the Brits they will overlook him like they have done since 2002. Except for the year before last. At no time has TT been asked to present an award to Robbie - so why should Robbie do it for TT now. It should be them handing an award to Robbie. Robbie is the only member of TT to make a very successful solo career for himself. Why can't the press, the Brits or the music industry give him credit for that. They stopped giving him awards as soon as he hit the mega big time. It just makes me so angry when I think how much the UK, The Brits, the press could have and should have shown more support to him. He must be the most ridiculed unfairly treated artist in the UK which is so very underserving. He should only attend if: He has been nominated and won an award, then hand out an award to TT, if he so wishes. He should not attend if: He has been nominated and has not won an award. He does not deserve that. Not after all the hard work or the revenue he has brought to the music industry this year and not just be there to boost the rating with TT. I also know this, the ratings always fare better when Robbie is at the Brits and this is why they are trying this cheap shot again. All this c**p makes me :puke2:
  8. Surely Rudebox has sold half a million by now. I hope so. Sounds a hell of alot better with the million word in there. Still shaking my Rudebox :cheer:
  9. and the robbiewilliamssite Scotty :) It is my own personal picture choice.
  10. I heard that too Dino. Some countries are not taking them to their hearts like the UK. Germany will though. I do like Take That, the album is not that great for me. I always have liked albums and artists with a bit of edge about them. I can understand the Robbie v TT thing but really it should be TT v Westlife thing and one thing I will say they beat Westlife handsdown. Which I am very pleased about, Westlife are one of the laziest manband or boyband around. They just pick flipping covers all the time and I just cannot understand the public accepting it. At least TT write their own material.
  11. apparently The People newspaper got the No.8 position from the Woolworths chart and download where it is No.8. Well, that is something. :) You know I wonder how many people copied it when it was leaked on the internet and how many people copied it when it was put up on the Official. I ask you fancy putting the whole song on there. The site is not secure. We must not forget though that Rudebox went to No.1 in eleven countries and I do think this album will constantly sell in small numbers for a long time. Don't ask me why I think that but I do. Alot of young lads I know love the album and they have been passing the ONE original about and unfortunately, a ton of them have bl**dy copied it. :o I keep telling them to go and buy it, but no, the youngsters want it for free. Rudebox may not be a big seller in the Robbie scope of things but it has caused interest with a ton of people that did not like what he did before. So from that point of view, I have to take a positive from it.
  12. another British press lie  Rudebox is No.36 I have given up hoping, I never thought that Robbie would only have less than half a million UK fans. I don't hold with these other fans that claim they love Robbie but didn't buy the album. I guess they are not like me, if I don't like something Robbie does and there have been some, I have always given his music a fair chance. Most of what Robbie does always grows with the listener, after ten years they would surely know that also, everything Robbie does is utterly professional. Oh well, onto the next project. I want to forget this one :(
  13. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE May it bring everything you desire, health, happiness, wealth and Robbie! :party2:
  14. I just think that being at the top for ten years and producing 8 No.1 albums it is a natural progression to go. To reach 'superstar' status like Robbie the popularity is there but the album sales start to slide and it usually happens when they reach the ten year mark, ie 'superstars' George Michael, Elton John, David Bowie, Rod Stewart. He should never have released Rudebox this year. I have my own views of why he did and yes, like you Tessa I am looking forward to his next project, although I will be very nervous how successful that will be, my guess is that the majority of fans are waiting for him to get back with Guy and if that should happen you bet then the album will fly off the shelves.
  15. The TT album is defo not for me! I could not even complete listening to it. Shocking to make a judgement on just listening to 6 songs on an album. I reackon it will take me to the New Year to want to pick it up and listen to the others and no I didn't buy it, it was given to me as a gift because they thought I would like it because it has a link to Robbie, well, how wrong they were  I never bought a TT album when Robbie was in it. Why would I want it now. It is such a shame that fans of Robbie are not trusting him but trusting what the papers say. I was not a 'Rudebox' single lover myself but the album is good and gets to be very, very good a couple of listens in. How can anyone say they are a fan of his and not buy an album  and I will tell you this, Rudebox performed Live is one of the best sounds Robbie has produced on stage. It is amazing and I am pleased to say that in Australia it has brought in alot of the younger people to him. I never thought that Rudebox would sell anymore at Xmas time than it did initially. It is not for the everyday casual buyer who bought the standard type of Robbie album, but then I have been called pessimistic before. The vibe for Robbie at the moment and probably since Intensive Care has not been there for him in the UK. I am surprised his PR could not suss it out. I did, why didn't they?
  16. what worldwide? That cannot be right. First weeks sales in Germany alone was 600,000.
  17. He always looks good for Australia. Robbie, nice hair and oh, love those sideburns. Robbie Williams lights up SubiReview by STM Music Editor Jay Hanna December 01, 2006 06:00am http://www.news.com.au/common/imagedata/0,,5320884,00.jpg BIG HIT: Britsh rocker Robbie Williams turned on the charm for Perth fans at Subiaco Oval last night in the first concert of his Australian tour. Picture: Natalie Slade http://www.news.com.au/common/imagedata/0,,5320889,00.jpg FIREWORKS and the theme to Close Encounters of the Third Kind heralded the biggest concert in Perth's history and the start of Robbie Williams' highly anticipated Australian tour. The atmosphere at Subiaco Oval was palpable as around 40,000 fans jostled for that all important first glimpse of pop superstar Robbie Williams. Flames shot into the air as the enormous arrangement of semi-circular screens started a digital countdown. Voices of 40-year-olds joined 14-year-olds. Men's baritones joined in with more high pitched counting. Rising from the ground, amid streams of vertical smoke, decked out in a black jacket, jeans, a blue scarf and Terminator-like shades stood Robbie Williams. The screams were deafening. "Radio" heralded the arrival. Stopping a moment to bask in the adoration, Williams soon got down to business skipping around the stage and intermittently singing along with his backing singers. Singing took a backseat to the necessary posturing and posing. This is after all what the crowds came to see. Williams immediately acquainted himself with the cameras that tracked his every move. Looking straight into the lens, his face beamed around Subiaco oval on the massive screens, Williams intimately told 40,000 people. "I love you". "Good evening everybody," he bellowed. "I am Robbie Williams and this is my show." And what a show it was. In the style of an old variety performance or a Vegas stage show, Williams took on the role, not of a singer, but of an entertainer. He danced, he joked, he parodied, he pranced and teased the audience. Singing was not his priority and why should it be? It was almost unnecessary as backing tracks and back-up singers took care of the particulars. Williams' priority was to take care of the crowd, and he certainly did that. Visually the show was spectacular. Shaped like a massive horseshoe the amazing stage had enough lights to power a small town. No expense was spared with dazzling light shows, fireworks, smoke, flames and lasers. Amid that shiny setting, Williams was like a diamond in the rough. A scruffy scoundrel with an often dirty mouth and a cheeky smile. The kind of man every woman wants to save from himself and every man (and oh yes there were quite a few) wishes he could be. A cross between a swaggering Mick Jagger and Jack Nicholson in The Shining, Williams often looked manic and demented, but as quickly turned earnest and endearing, showing an uncanny knack to mesmerise a stadium full of people. In a recent interview Williams said who he is on stage is not who is in real life. "I am basically doing an impression of what I think a rock star or pop star is." And while he does it well, it is the Robbie Williams that is lying just below the surface, the one that appeared when he was moved almost to tears at the end of "Angels", the Robbie we get glimpses of when he stops hamming it up, that truly intrigues. But this was a show, a dazzling, bewildering stage show and as the captain of the ship, Williams simply must be larger than life. While watching The Rocky Horror Picture Show recently, Williams discovered his theatrical on-stage persona had more than a little in common with the film's Frank N. Furter. "The walk, the singing, the facial expressions - it's uncanny," he said. Indeed it was. Williams played it up to full effect during "Tripping", while "Monsoon" proved a crowd-uniting moment with arms waving side to side. Often stopping for lengthy chats with the audience, Williams, the eternal playboy, lamented the lack of visitors at his hotel. "There is nobody there," he said. "NOBODY". No doubt that will change. He also asked why there were no old people in Perth. "I haven't seen any old people. What have you done with them?" He baited the audience with: "I do believe Kylie arrived in town today", but hopes that she might appear for a duet on show closer "Kids" proved fruitless. As he introduced new song "Love Light", Williams joked: "Don't worry it's not Rudebox". Good-naturedly acknowledging the widespread panning of his recent single. He saved that for the encore. English television presenter, actor and musician Jonathan Wilkes, joined Williams for the duet they recorded for Robbie's Swing When You Are Winning album, "Me and My Shadow". Wilkes stuck around to ham it up on a hilarious rendition of The Beegees hit "Stayin' Alive" and "Strong". Together the pair were like a madcap comedy duo, tripping over each other, joking and jostling. The only hint that Williams was tired came when he told the crowd: "We are going to do a strong called…" "Did I really say that? I'm f**king jet lagged." Williams gave a nod to his boy band days with a version of "Back For Good" by Take That. It was followed by "Advertising Space", "Come Undone" and "Feel". "I'm not sure I understand," Williams said over and over before bidding the audience goodnight. The encore kicked off with the blazing "Let Me Entertain You". Fireworks shot into the sky and everywhere people were on their feet, clapping and dancing along, as Williams, now decked out in an Adidas tracksuit top, ran around the stage. Rudebox was next, followed by showstopper "Angels". Williams was visibly moved by the sing-along and resounding applause. Then with "Kids" it was all over. Williams thanking the crowd profusely. And again it was there. That touch of humility and that slightly melancholic air. The little boy lost on his multi-million dollar stage. http://www.news.com.au/common/imagedata/0,,5320878,00.jpg http://www.news.com.au/common/imagedata/0,,5320899,00.jpg BIG HIT: Britsh rocker Robbie Williams turned on the charm for Perth fans at Subiaco Oval last night in the first concert of his Australian tour. 18. fab review. No one like our Robbie to give more than just a show. He has an amazing sense of humour. Nice to read that he can sing, of course he flipping well can! and loved the line, he sang ballads, rock songs and new hits. Great :cheer: the amazing talent of Robbie.
  19. strangely enough admirers of Oasis music are Robbie fans. I am one. but this outburst from Noel, stopped me buying the album last week. Not just because of the Robbie connection but also making light of some very serious issue's that people face everyday. Probably will buy the album this weekend.
  20. I would love to be as optimistic as you are LizzieSarah, Sorry, but just how will Rudebox pick up on sales? Both singles out of the charts, no PR and more importantly going down on airplay, which I have come to believe, along with the press, is manipulated to change the market and music scene. Proof of that is the article in Sun today. Telling everyone to go out and buy Oasis to beat Westlife. It is a pity they did what they did to Rudebox. The British wanted Robbie to have a fall. It is the ten year era for him. Whereas, the papers are reporting that TT are back after ten years. How about Robbie doing it for ten years. The press do my head in. Would love to see it happen Lizziesarah, but I think this time Robbie will not be coming up trumps over Xmas. Sadly. :(
  21. I fired off an email to GMTV in general, I didn't aim it at Fiona particularly, although she was mentioned :P honestly, I have been reading alot of fans show support to their favourite artist's when they read something or hear something they don't like, there seems to be apathy amongst Robbie fans when he gets dissed. We should start up a supporters group. I am serious. I have just got an idea lol
  22. oh darn  , see how blinded you get when you want something desperately enough. It did give me hope there for a minute. thanks Scotty for putting me right. :D
  23. did I read right that Rudebox the single is still in the top 15 :o and Rudebox is top 20, :D I read the chart thread. I think it was Mikey that mentioned it. Single is Top 15, and the album is Top 20 if that is the case Rudebox the single is doing very nicely indeed and would make Robbie have two entries in the single charts. Lovelight No.8 Rudebox No.15 and Rudebox the album, you guess is as good as mine in the top 20. Well, that is quite something, obviously I would prefer Rudebox the album to be in the top 10. But so far since the release of the album every other artist who reached No.1 has stayed one week at the top with less sales than Robbie and so far the album sales for Oasis are still lower than Rudebox first week figures, although that could change. Even so the pattern for Robbie is the same for everyone else too. Next week we have TT's album, so that would mean if Oasis get to No.1 or The Beatles, they will only stay there for one week too. It will be the Xmas market that will count to the albums having big sales figures, just hoping Robbie could gain some ground there, although it will be difficult as he is not around to promote it and the airplay is down for him too. Which is a bugger. I am afraid the radio stations have not been kind to Robbie and I happen to think it has been orchestrated on purpose too. I wonder why I think that :o
  24. monsoon, I have had my say. Sent an email to Fiona Phillips and GMTV yesterday. :D Not alot gets past me and I wish there were more fans that would do the same. It doesn't take one minute to fire an email off. About time Robbie fans do what TT fans do, bombard anyone that knocks them. Now it our turn to do the same. perfect opportunity if you are a member on Purerobbie.
