#12 Light up the world Kicking of this countdown is Steps Christmas inspired and not so loved Light up the world album. Their reunion in 2012 was succesfull because the band resolved their issues and people were in full nostalgia mood with the tour and the release of the Ultimate collection. Was this enough or did the band want to do more after this and maybe release a whole new album? Sadly (in this case) they did.. Light up the world was released on 12 November 2012 after it was announced on 24 September 2012. It is the band's first studio album since 2000's Buzz. It is also the first release on Steps' own label, Steps Recordings. Recording sessions began in August 2012, and took place over a period of two months, concluding in October 2012. But why this release? Giving Steps a more mature sound this album resulted in a very boring one and all the Steps magic had gone..Barely making it into the album top 40 it peaked at a not very Steptacular #32 in the UK and #38 in Scotland. Luckily they learned from this misStep and made everything right 5 years later! Your opinion?
