  1. Layo Paskin and Matthew Benjamin whom make up the DJ duo of Layo and Bushwacka! are seen off in 7th with 'Love Story (vs Finally)'. It first charted 6 months earlier as just 'Love Story' making it to 30 then only to peak at 8 in January 2003. The song uses samples from Nina Simone's 'Rags and Old Iron' and Devo's 'Mongoloid' with the Finally portion of the single using a vocal from house project The King's Of Tomorrow with Julie McKnight which reached 17 in the Billboard Dance club songs chart in 2000. 7 Layo & Bushwacka! - Love Story (vs Finally) (11/27 votes) 8 Roll Deep - The Avenue (12/30 votes) 9 Artful Dodger Ft Melanie Blatt - Twenty Four Seven (11/24 votes) 10 Blazin Squad - Love On The Line (21/27 votes) Vote your Least Fave
  2. Out in 5th place is American house singer Inaya Day with 'Nasty Girl'. She first made her name by featuring on Mousse T's 1998 hit 'Horny' and 7 years later managed to get a chart hit on her own when 'Nasty Girl' peaked at 9. It was written by Prince and recorded by his protégée Vanity 6 in 1982. 5 Inaya Day - Nasty Girl (11/24 votes) 6 Samantha Mumba - Lately (13/31 votes) 7 Geri - Ride It (11/22 votes) 8 David Sneddon - Don't Let Go (15/26 votes) 9 A1 - Like A Rose (13/29 votes) 10 Leon Jackson - Don't Call This Love (16/27 votes) Vote your Least Fave

  4. 'Once' is quite good. The chart run for it still looks pretty bizarre for it though.
  5. With one of them appearing in the next survivor... I've decided to create a James Bond singles poll and yes I've included Billie as hers has been the only one (and last one so far) in the 2020's anyway so figured it didn't matter too much here. Am picking Billie too btw but I like the Adele, Jack and Alicia ones a lot also. Madonna and Chris's are fine but for the former a weak moment in her discography and Sam Smith.. nah lol.
  6. Yeah she was.
  7. Was stumbling across 2001 music related videos this evening and came across some old clips of SMTV live and CD:UK. A part of my Saturday morning childhood watching these. Famously presented by Ant & Dec and Cat Deeley for several years. From Wonkey Donkey, CHUMS - the popular sketch parodying Friends to the postman segment with the Carpenters playing among other stuff. Fun times. Some clips for those who weren't familiar with it What's some of your favourite segments or guests that were on the shows? Share in the thread!
  8. Omg that's a blast. A fun game and was hilarious with Jason Donovan doing the voice over of Buzz!
  9. Well now Rollo has won.. we could have long songs as the next theme 🤭 Congrats Rollo. I didn't point it (likely would be one of my next in lines though). Did strike as the sort of song to do pretty well though. Some great stuff in the top 5. Sneaky Sound System was a great discovery for me. Oops at Infernal losing out on a tie to top 10. Really lush track that and considering I never cared for 'From Paris To Berlin' much either. 18th is still respectable for me. Half way point which I was hoping for if maybe a few spots higher. Thanks for all the votes especially Wow for the 18 <3. Glad Poets Of the Fall dodged bottom 5 area too. Great hosting Julian. Smoothly ran as per usual!
  10. J Lo's 'On The Floor' looking to be the next to add to here if it stays top 40 for Friday.
  11. Fab number one to finish up with. Just an utter euphoric dance classic <3 1 Baby D - Let Me Be Your Fantasy 2 East 17 - Stay Another Day 3 Whigfield - Saturday Night 4 D:Ream - Things Can Only Get Better 5 Wet Wet Wet - Love is All Around 6 Prince - The Most Beautiful Girl In the World 7 Take That - Everything Changes 8 Pato Banton & Reggae Revolution - Baby Come Back 9 Doop - Doop 10 Stiltskin - Inside (11 Mariah Carey - Without You) and cba to do the rest as don't like them. Thanks for running this Da Tilt.
  12. Counts as indie pop I guess but just remembered this one which peaked at 30.
  13. That's fair Julian. Look forward to the end of results tomorrow 😊 done a fab job so far. Am hoping to remain top 15 somehow or top half at the very least.
  14. I can appreciate it for what it is to some degree but it did irritate me a fair bit oops.
  15. Last minute guesses from the remaining Wardy - Sneaky Scene- Nelly Dobbo - The Knife Jonjo / Tafty - Keisha Julian - Camera Jim - LCD Soundsystem Rollo - Snow Patrol
  16. Moony wasn't who I confirmed initially. I had actually sent Embrace but wasn't feeling secure with that despite being a fine track. Funnily I did then go listen to 'Carnival Of Rust' in between landing on 'For Your Love'! Glad it's doing reasonably well. About where I expect. Just noticed I left Evanescence off oops. Would've have made my 5 pointer I think but was rushing so didn't properly check again, nevermind.
  17. 'On The Radio' is a lovely track. Good choice there Herbs.
  18. I reckon Herbs is now Regina Spektor. Good to get Paddington correct.
  19. Great pick Nine!
  20. Off to a goodish start. Just hopefully it doesn't turn out like BJSC yesterday lol. Some nice tracks up there too currently.
  21. If I had to pick the winner based off the listenthrough then it'd probably be Basement Jaxx. Not sure on what else could contend. Or Sneaky Sound System maybe.
  22. Maybe a surprising one perhaps but going for Kaiser Chiefs now. Never really cared for that one, annoying chorus too. I like almost everything else they've released though.
  23. She was my 3rd Fave from this batch but did expect it to not get much further unfortunately..
  24. Roll Deep's 'The Avenue' is next out. It would be the first hit for the London grime music collective of which notable names on the track feature Wiley who'd have a #1 of his own 7 years later and DJ Target who would later go on to be a DJ for Radio 1Xtra. It samples 1983 hit single 'Heartache Avenue' by The Maisonettes who are a one hit wonder and it peaked at 11 in 2005. Roll Deep would then have a follow up top 30 hit 'Shake A Leg' before blasting back into the charts in 2010 and getting back to back #1 hits in 'Good Times' and 'Green Light'. 8 Roll Deep - The Avenue (12/30 votes) 9 Artful Dodger Ft Melanie Blatt - Twenty Four Seven (11/24 votes) 10 Blazin Squad - Love On The Line (21/27 votes) Vote your Least Fave!
