Thanks FeralCat....lovely to see him on home turf!!! Strange seeing such a familiar place!!! So annoyed I couldn't "loiter" :( ...but to make matters more annoying - it states by the photos that he arrived at the Europa at 4:30ish and I was picking my daughter up about half-an-hour earlier just round the corner at the front of the City Hall!!! :cry: So near and yet so far!

:snif: Just realised I can't wait about outside this now as I start back to my pre-Christmas job this weekend for the next 5 months. It's just sodding typical.... I'm totally cheesed off! <_< :angry:

Best to leave it to chance, more often the more you look the less likely you are to find!! Follow the theory of serendipity - finding something amazing whilst looking for something totally different!!! Wish I knew what time it starts but I can't find any info at all on their website other than the after-party starts at 11:30 and I'm not loitering after that time to wait for anyone coming out. :(

Last week's Sunday Life had a spread about the FATE awards, this little snippet included with a photo of Natasha?....not Darius! :rolleyes: DARIUS IS ON THE HUNT HE’S riding high after winning UTV’s Popstar To Opera Star but DARIUS CAMPBELL is nursing a broken heart and I hear he might be looking for a shoulder to cry on while he’s in Belfast. Darius split from stunning fiancee NATASHA HENSTRIDGE last month after four years but the Scottish hunk is apparently looking for a new romance already. My source tells me: “Darius was heartbroken because he thought he’d marry Natasha but he hates being on his own - he really wants to be settled down and married with children. It’s unusual for him to go out socialising a lot but he knows he will really have to put himself out there if he wants to find a new girlfriend. He knows he needs to move on.” Get in line ,ladies! Maybe I DO need to wait outside the Europa then!!!!! :lol: :heehee:

As promised......sorry for the delay, this is the first chance we've had to do it! I'm afraid you have to listen to the Czech Republic's anthem too if you want the clip at the start of Darius greeting the Scottish team whilst wearing his kilt!! :lol: ;) On rewatching it, I've just realised how nervous he sounds at the start!!! No wonder he slipped up!

Not being Scottish I don't know the words (I only know the Rab C version..."Oh flower of Scotland, de, de, de-deee")....tho the timing did seem off then to me. :huh: Saw him shaking hands with all the players in the tunnel beforehand too. Oooh, and he's wearing the kilt!! :cheer: I have it recorded but hubby's just gone out, so not sure when I'll get it edited...sorry! Maybe someone will beat me to it!

The Scotland v Czech Republic game is on Sky Sports 1 & Sky Sports HD1 - coverage starts @ 7:30 pm, kick-off 8pm Have just set the Sky box to record it - and hubby says he'll help me edit it for posting!! It's been that long since I did it I've forgotten how to, so may take a while!!! LOL :blush:

Love that song - never heard it before!!! I can imagine Darius singing it. Another couple I can imagine him singing are in yet another genre - country, tho not "yeehaw" country!!! In fact, other than being sung by Garth Brooks, they could fit most genres!! The 2 I'd love to hear are The River and The Dance - it's the lyrics of both that do it for me, and they're something that I reckon Darius could get the emotion across in really well. Ronan Keating has made a career of picking really good country songs that a lot of people have never heard and making them 'mainstream' (like If Tomorrow Never Comes by Garth Brooks - again!!). Not that Darius needs anyone to write songs for him, it's just the type of song I'd most love him to be writing - like the B-sides we've all loved so much. I'm waffling now - does any of that make sense?!!

Never too late Caroline!! I'm so glad I overcame my guilty conscience for upping our phone bill quite considerably....I kept thinking I shouldn't vote anymore.... then did!! Those few extra votes we all made may have made all the difference.

:yahoo: :cheer: Oh so proud of Darius - great performances, especially the duet with Rolando - spine tingling!!! :wub: Just dread the phone bill now...... :unsure: but so worth it for him to finally get what he deserves!! I had such a lump in my throat when he ran off to hug his dad! :cry: Right....where's that bottle of wine?!!!! My nerves need steadying!!!

:yahoo: So pleased Darius got through!! ....... :unsure: Dread to think what my husband will say when the phone bill comes in tho!! I can understand why he was initially concerned about the Champagne Aria but his singing performance, while not perfect, was exceptional given the breathing problems associated with such a fast, wordy piece and the acting performance was superb too! I just wish that sometimes he had more faith in himself - that's 2 weeks now that he's put unnecessary pressure on himself. Kym's performance wasn't her best, Marcella was good but I just can't warm to her. Bernie was my favourite female last night but some of the high notes seemed more shouted than sung. As for the judges, I can accept what Rolando & Katherine say most of the time as they have experience and on the whole it's constructive criticism. I never really liked LLB - then he & his wife did a tourist programme on NI and just came across as pretentious and snobby <_< . Watching him and hearing his 'critique' last night said it all about him really. Particularly when Darius was talking and you could see him virtually snearing! As for Meat Loaf - whilst I love some of his music, just how can someone critique 4 other singers then put in a performance like his last night - it was just horrendous!!!

Trishiboo has posted on Facebook that she received a tweet saying Darius is singing the Champagne Aria from Mozart's Don Giovanni. Not an aria I've ever heard, but at least in the right key! It's fast & tricky imo! :unsure: If he can pull this off it will be very impressive and hard not to vote for him! :P Found this on youtube - there are a few versions one after the other on the playlist...

I did wonder why Myleene's introduction this week started with something about it being a tough week for him and 'hearing it on the grapevine' or something. Makes sense now. :( I'm so pleased at how well he's coming across in this - I hope he (and we!!) can sustain this to the final!!!

:( So sorry to hear this latest piece of news. Long distance relationships are so hard to sustain - been there, tried that. Not that Belfast to Edinburgh is that far!!! But at 18 it was a world and too many expensive flights away! Anyway... Whatever has happened between Darius & Natasha, I wish them BOTH the privacy to sort things out. Lord knows it's tough enough to cope without press intrusion. This is a hard day for me as it's 10 years since my mum died (sudden onset rapid-growing brain tumour) and I've been watching the Live Twice video as it has always summed up things for me. Only Darius has ever managed to do that in song - both Live Twice & Journey's End. The attention seeking fans scene really got to me this morning, and I can't help but feel guilty about all the times I've been there with pen & programme under Darius' nose as a fan without (obviously) knowing what issues there have been in his life. He's always so patient & pleasant. I hope 2010 IS a better year for him....and all of us too.

Oops! :blush: Sorry folks. It's a very misleading email then as the contenders placed 2nd - 6th aren't shown in alphabetical order (my email shows Rolan Bell in at the bottom of the list). Initially I too thought they were but when I checked all the categories saw that they weren't. . . Actually....I've just noticed they ARE in alphabetical order if you use their first name - I was using the surname! :rolleyes: I'm such a dope!!!! Sorry again folks!

I just got an email with all the winners for the What's On Stage 2009 Awards. Before everyone gets too excited, Darius didn't win the SEE TICKETS Best Actor in A Musical category.... <_< BUT . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . he DID come second!!!!! A highly respectable position I reckon, so well done Darius :w00t: :yahoo: :cheer: - a shame to just miss out on the award but still something to be very proud of given the determination of the press to ruin a superb show.
