What should you be doing? (5)
I haven't bought any yet - thought about it in Tesco this morning but didn't like their selection.

I quite like assembling flat pack furniture - put together two chests of drawers and a desk for my daughters a couple of months ago but have done wardrobes and bunk beds. Wardrobes are quite hard to do on your own.

I've only had the flu a couple of times so am a low risk and would rather leave it to my body's natural defences to fight should I get the flu.

Thanks for the pics Meg. I'm not getting excited for this announcement in January. I'll save my excitement for if and when we do hear the new album.

I haven't used AVG for a while but apparently it does do a scan on boot up. Searching the internet, one way of stopping this is as follows: On the main page, on the column on the left, click on 'scheduler' then double left click on 'test plan in basic mode' and untick the boxes for 'periodically start scheduled antivirus test' and 'if missed start immediately when computer start up' (although this one should cancel when you untick the first one. Now the column you double clicked on should read 'task is disabled' in the 'next start' column. I can't test it out but hope that helps.

You will need to register and get a registration key but that's easy to do. I have now got it installed on my four computers. Stick with AVG if you are happy with it.

I have played around with a couple of free Antivirus packages this weekend and my favourite one is AVAST Home Edition. I installed it yesterday and not long after a friend sent me a link on facebook. When I clicked on it AVAST popped up to warn me it was a virus and said don't worry just click close connection and you won't get the virus. It also warned me of a trojan on a site I clicked on today. If anyone wants to download it here's the link http://download.cnet.com/Avast-Home-Editio...4-10019223.html A couple of tips if you do decide to go for this one. It will automatically do a boot scan, which slows down the start up. If you want to avoid this - right click on the little icon (blue ball with a a) on the bottom right of the screen and click on program settings. Remove the tick on - Test memory during application start-up. To ensure you get automatic updates of the virus database, in the program settings go to update (connections) and tick my computer is permanently connected to the internet. Click on the shortcut icon on your desktop. It gives you an ugly control panel like a car radio. To change it - click on the up arrow in the top left hand corner, then select skin and choose the second one. When you want to run the scan, there are several ways of doing so. The easiest way from that control panel is to click on menu (top left) and click on start scan and select what drives you want scanned. Any other questions give me a shout.

I agree with you Meg. I could go but would feel even more out of place than I did at the Big Sing and like you would feel I was intruding

Seems fine but doesn't have an email scanner. I ticked to have it examine applications and it thinks one application is a virus when it isn't. It does like to pop up with "buy the premium version" but there is a fix so it doesn't happen. I might also look at AVAST which is also meant to be better than AVG

I'm trying out a different anti-virus - Avira Antivirus Personal. It is supposed to be better than AVG

I looked at it but decided not to join and not to vote. it's separate to facebook. My life is too boring to talk about as well. Who wants to hear - I went to work, did the housework, went to bed

How annoying. At least AVG caught it. Strange though, I haven't had any of these google alerts

Hate when that happens. It's like someone has come into your house and left crap all over the walls.

Some buyers like a house to do up. Programmes like Property ladder convince them they can make money by doing up properties and selling at a profit.
