My best friend used to risk her life on live rails and came inches from being hit by a train. The boys she was with don't know how she avoided it.
  3. Happy anniversary. We don't do much to celebrate our anniversary either.

Such a terrible thing to happen. what a waste when he could have been a talented rugby player and as well as the physical scars there will be the psychological ones as well, including regret for what might have been.

I think I have taken Hayley once to the doctor's since we moved here. Never taken Claire.

I have no idea what the doctors in my practice are like since I haven't been to see them in over seven years.
  12. It's terrible when people do such psychological damage to dogs by mistreating them so badly.

But wouldn't it be nice if you were sick to have Darius examine you. A private consultation, with the curtains drawn.
  14. Hmmm, not sure I'd want to go on walks when it's cold.

yes, we all enjoy some parts better than others.
  16. I'll keep the kids then - just swap my hubby for a dog.
  17. Can I trade my family in for a dog please. Bet their social lives, don't cost me as much either. And they don't use mobile phones, need new clothes, help themselves to food and not wash up, generate mountains of washing. I'm liking this more and more.

I don't understand a thick Geordie accent either.

I also have trouble understanding the stronger Glasgow accent. As for a strong Belfast accent - forget it.
  20. I hope he does Meg. I've never had any pets myself but I bet they are easier to manage than a husband and daughters.

I did tell him I wanted to hear more of his own music.
  22. Glad your car passed Pam We had a lovely evening thanks. Found a nice restaurant (but will we remember where it was) and I bought a pair of boots. Even managed to catch the last Waterloo and City train, which I thought I'd missed. Stupid dreams again last night. Two tigers attacking people in the street, running home to safety and being too scared to leave again, knowing they were up the road, killing anyone in their sights. I'd better go to work as well.
  23. and Dave was very reluctant to go home afterwards (can't blame him). My hubby liked GWTW as well, even saw it twice, which is most unusual for him. If he hadn't enjoyed it, he would have said so as well.

Meg, unfortunately you can't wave a magic wand and sort out everyone's problems. Often you can't help. They have to work things out for themselves. All you can do is be there to listen when they want to talk/vent a little.
