Ah yes...Last week Meg ham. I just couldn'the get down from Scotland to see it,as my daughter has been working long hrs and not had a window to accompany me and stay over weekend in London. However, she said "don't worry mum". "When he comes to Scotland, we can go to see him in Edinburgh &Glasgow "! But your news that he wasn' doing the tour, has now put paid to that! If you hear ,Meg ham of any other events,he will be singing at,preferably in Scotland, I would appreciate it if you would let me know,or do you think he will be 'off' after the show to do his producing stint, matey lasting a long time;in which case at my age, I might be lucky to ever see him in concert again.ha! Do wish his focus was on the singing, purely for selfish reasons of course. Apart from that,I honestly believe, that to be successful you must be totally focused on what you excellent at,but Darius has a different perspective &who knows, matey that will work for him and I wish him every success in all his many ventures. One thing'so for sure.He was born to be a star and with all that talent I hope heo entertain us fomany years to come.

Birthday
Belated Happy Birthday Darius. "Throughout the years" "As i have found" "That voice of yours.." "It knows no bounds!" "From the pathos of that pure falsetto" "To the baritone that's compelling & special" "And then the tenor rich & smooth" "A chocolate cloak u can't remove.

A "Kinda" review
I bumped into a lady i sometimes chat to in my local sainsburys (scotland) she was telling me all about her birthday treat, going down to London, seeing a show etc. I asked her which show & she said 'FUNNY GIRL'. I asked her if she enjoyed it & she said the following- "Oh yes it was great" "Sheridan Smith was good, really funny, but i found her singing a bit screechy". Then she said "But i could have listened to 'the man' singing all night" She didn't know who 'the man' was! Don't worry, i soon filled her in & although she was familiar with the name, she didn't realise it was D. Still.. Good to hear she loved his singing. Good Taste! Unlikely, i'll make it to London now,I had it all planned out with my daughter for the tour. She has a holiday home in Edinburgh & we were going to see it there & stay over, then go again to the Glasgow one nearer home, but all up in the air now, since Megham said he wasn't doing tour. I don't think my daughters very busy work & family commitments will enable her to go to London before it ends Oct, but we'll see... I'd hate to miss seeing him, but knowing my luck, past history etc, i'd go all that way & then find he wasn't on that day! So if i can't go, i'll console myself with that thought. Thanks to all of you who keep me up to date, 'KINDA'. Ha ha!

Thanks to all for your remarks/info: if Darius doesn't know whether he is doing the tour, does this mean he is still waiting to be 'asked' & would be willing if so? Has the cast not been announced yet? Dissappointing news for me, as so difficult to arrange London. Please let me know when the tour cast is announced. Good that Megham showed that positive good review from british theatre. Darius of course, was 'born to be the 'lead' in whatever he does! By the way, what does it mean when one of you says. 'nice if we could see it in G.B.?! Good to hear the record is fine, but think i'd like to see show 1st, so please keep me updated abt tour cast etc. So good to hear all your comments/updates. Thanks.

I haven't made it down from scotland this time & when i heard the news via this forum, that the show is going to be touring, i thought it best to wait until cast was announced. Any of you have news on that front, or know if darius might be part of cast? Also, haven't got the record, but none of you have said if you liked it-so it would be nice if i could see your comments ie, is it a good portrayal of darius's voice etc. Strangely enough, many, many years ago, i was given a gift of the old style vinyl l.P. album, with Barbara Striesand singing all the songs from it & was surprised just how good the recording was & how much i enjoyed it, considering i'm basically not a great fan of musicals! So wonder if this recording can be as powerfully good as the Striesand one? Once i see the show, i'll get it, but was hoping that i'd hear some comments here too. Grateful if you would let me know as soon as u know casting as i'm not too 'savvy' on internet (old age) at least in preceding years darius would be on t.v. & that enabled me to keep up better + your forum had much more info, i think. Thanks.

For those of you'in the know'? Any idea how darius is. I imagine he would keep his faithfull followers updated! I'm so relieved that my daughter & i didn't book for last week. Fortunately my daughter has a friend, who went to see the show on july 8th & said darius wasn't there. Imagine the let down, if we'd travelled from scotland, booked hotel etc. I've got a similar previous experience, although we eventually did get to see g.w.t.w., but had to fork out an extra £200, to change rail tickets. It was all extremely stressful, after doing everything right, in the 1st place! I only go to any of musicals to see Darius performing. I am definitely not a fan of his co-star, so what a dissappointment if we had booked for last week. Of course, its a shame he's hurt, but even ill people can still communicate with their valued? 'fans. N.b. Its ironic, that, as soon as ms smith returns, he's injured& hope that on her return, she didn't insist on 'putting darius back in the box', if u get my drift.

Which song
Can anyone shed 'light' on tracks listed. Which song was specially 'written in' for Darius? & is it on recording? If not, does that mean, no solo by DARIUS?! Thank u.

Darius news
Thanks megham for updates/news. I am so inept', using this old phone.needs updated, as i've no computer.i've tried the 'REPLY' bit, but don't think u get them, or it doesn't connect, using 'fast reply' option, so hence the reason i do a post now, as u got that! So once again than rks for more info: i've seen almost eversything Darius has been. in, from day 1, id mncluding g.w.t.w & f.h.t.e. Great in both. He's such a tale mnt! Thanks too, to Braytree for info. The more the merrier!

I appreciate Darius is very busy, but he rarely communicates anything via this forum. A few updates surley not beyond him?! Thanks Megham & Baytree for your input & keeping me up to date. I may yet manage the show & even the gig, if i had details of where its taking place? (not even sure this will be posted, as i'm using an older phone. Will need to upgrade to a smart phone, when i get around to it. Also, i don't have a computer, through choice/age? Still... I rely on u both to keep me up to date, thanks. I saw a photograph of darius & sheridan on this morning'-it was Rylan, showing the 2 presenters, how sheridan 'broke down', on opening night-but given that u couldn't miss Darius, in the shot & given how well they knew DARIUS, I FOUND it very 'strange, that they didn't even remark, that he was alongside her!, or mabey not so strange...have noticed since p.t.o.s ended, he's never been mentioned again. I still wonder if he did something awful to that 'twerp', who has investements in a no. Of programmes. Just kidding, i think. Don't leave it so long to post info please, as i rely on it. Thanks

I 'kind' of agree, but i sensed that she was a bit nervous/ overwhelmed, & 'gabbled' a bit self conciousley, as a 'cover' & i felt a bit sorry for her, noting the stoney glare from J.Collins. Me!, i didn't expect to like her, but warmed to the vulnerable side &she seemed to possess an old fashioned decency, when talking abt her mother's values. Anaway, she's a good actress & that's all that matters! D should have been there to 'protect her'. He would smoothly' have given j.c, the attention & flattery she may still crave. As for j.ross, he's become so 'dumbed down' now, the show doesn't work well any more.pity he has mabey had little choice! Finally, given the advanced age of j.collins, one would have thought she could have shown a little more understanding & support-so it didn't reflect well on her either!

Happy Birthday
yes Darius, hope you had a nice time on your birthday& still planning & doing good things. Pity we never hear from you, as you usually at least send a Christmas greeting. it would be really nice to hear from you, even if you're in Timbuctoo?!

F.H.T. ANONIMITY!
thanks Megham for reply & info. my 'opinion' on RbtLonsdale's voice can't be changed, though, but perhaps it is not a neccessity reach the notes, given the part he was playing. i did see Darius doing duet on This Morning'& i felt that he seemed to have to subdue his voice, in order for ROBERT to be heard!- but was glad that, when i heard the number at the cinema (done a bit differently); that Darius shone at the small part of 'Aint Where i Wannabee', that he did sing & he definitely made the most of it. WOULD HAVE LOVED tohave heard the solo you mentioned ' MABEY' ARE there no links to it? yes, it would have been nice for Darius to have had one solo to sing! Hopefully, if they take it to America, they will advertise it. everyone in Scotland knows who Darius is, but as i said previously, no- one looking, passing the actual cinema, would have known Darius was in it- it just showed a circle of unknown faces on billboard-hence another reason why, around the country, one might expect smaller audiences. i just don't think they should have bothered if they could'nt afford to market it properly, or whatever reason. makes me wonder who was promoting it & their experience in these matters. one can only hope, that they do it differently in America, if they want to attract the kind of audience they say they are seeking. Never mind; if Darius is running all over G.B., TO PROMOTE HIS FORTHCOMING ALBUM in the 'AUTUMN', HE MABEY WONT BE TOO CONCERNED ABOUT IT ALL!...I Thought Darius might have made an appearance in Glasgow at the Commonwealth GAMES concerts. mabey he is too busy. he looks better in the kilt than anyone i have ever seen & it would have been good to hear him singing. never mind-Roll on the autumn album & the tour. OH, I Almost forgot to mention; Darius's leading lady had a lovely singing voice & my friend, who is a singing teacher, thought they both sang 'AMERICA'SO WELL. It was the number. that had you humming it to yourself.

F.H.T. ANONIMITY!
i stand corrected megham. the name Bill Oakes was just in my mind & of course i meant the musical director, who's name now escapes me. i've never read the book, but if Private Prewitt was meant to sing the most, then i rather stand by what i said, since it was not 'a matter of opinion' about his singing & that being the case, i would have preferred to hear a good singer, capable of reaching the notes. remember, it was only his singing i critisized, as the part he played was acted very well. my main dissappointment i think , was that Darius didn't appear to sing the number, that he said was specially written, to accomodate his baritone, which is extemely powerful. i remember him in the rehearsal room P.T.O.S. & it was just wonderful to hear him , standing beside the piano, singing ' the impossible dream'in what has to be the best baritone i have ever heard, so yes, i was hoping for a bit of that again!, although i do enjoy his tenor &falsetto too. his range is amazing. still puzzled about lack of promotion. usually there would have been something in the Daily Record', but not a whiff. when all's said & done, yes i did enjoy seeing it in film& Darius can be counted on , never to dissappoint- in any of the leading roles he has played.

F.H.T. ANONIMITY!
i went to see f.h.t.e at the huge cinema in glasgow city centre (cineworld). i'll start by saying how good Darius was, acting , singing, you name it.he never dissappoints & so professional, along with stand out star quality, looks, the lot!- but here's the 'RUB'! I DON'T KNOW HOW ANYONE IN SCOTLAND,KNEW HE WAS IN IT! EVEN THE 'PASSING TRADE' AT THE CINEMA,LOOKING AT THE BILLBOARDS, WOULD NOT HAVE KNOWN DARIUS FEATURED,IN ANY WAY. JUST SHOWED ROBT:LONSDALE, SURROUNDEDBY SOME OF THE MALE CAST-BUT NO DARIUS!,SO ANY FANS OF DARIUS,IN SCOTLAND, WOULD'NT HAVE A CLUE,HE HAD ANY PART OF IT. ALSO, WHAT HE GOT TO SING, WAS EXCELLENT, BUT VERY LITTLE, NOT ALLOWING ANY AUDIENCE TO FULLY APPRECIATE HIS SINGING RANGE. I MEAN..., WHERE WAS THE NUMBER, SHOWING HIS POWERFUL BARITONE?! SO YES, WHAT LITTLE BITS HE GOT TO SING, JUST FRUSTRATED ME, PARTICULARLY, WHEN THE OTHER MALE LEAD, APPEARED TO SING MORE, & STRUGGLED TO HIT MANY NOTES.(NOT A SINGER, I DON'T THINK)? I THINK IF I WAS DARIUS, I WOULD TELL THEM WHERE TO STUFF IT, PARTICULARLY THE MUSICAL DIRECTOR, BILL OAKES, WHO SEEM TO HAVE HIS OWN PERSONAL MENTORING PROJECT& I HAVE RARELY HEARD HIM SAY ANYTHING ABOUT DARIUS,SO BUSY NURSING ALONG', THE OTHER MALE LEAD. I'M THINKING TIM RICE'S INPUT HAS BEEN MINIMAL, MABEY A GETTING OLDER PROJECT, WHICH HE'S LEFT IN THE HANDS OF THOSE WITH NOT A LOT OF EXPERIENCE. ANAWAY, ENOUGH OF MY 'RANT' WELL DONE DARIUS. YOU WERE SUPERB. I JUST GET IRKED, WITH THE INJUSTICE & THE LACK OF PROMOTION.

F.H.TE
HI, TO ALL. I'M STILL THINKING OF GOING DOWN FROM SCOTLAND,WITH MY DAUGHTER,TO SEE THE SHOW. IT'S A BIG EXPENSE,AS WE NEED TO STAY OVERNIGHTIN LONDON. THING IS I AM ONLY GOING TO SEE DARIUS& WOULD BE DEVASTATED IF HE WAS NOT APPEARINGON THE DAY I CHOSE;SO CAN ANY OF YOU CONFIRM THAT HE IS CURRENTLY APPEARING IN THE SHOW & IF HE INTENDS TO BE THERE,PARTICULARLY WEEKENDS, FROM NOW UNTIL CLOSURE? I'M HOPING ONE OF YOU HAS A 'HOTLINE TO DARIUS, TO FIND OUT FOR ME. THANK YOU. missed opportunity!
was very dissappointed to not know, that Darius was giving a concert in my old home town of Greenock, Scotland, last Friday. The occasion was the opening of new arts centre, attended by Prince Edward. Nowadays, i live near Glasgow, so it would have been so easy to go to Greenock, but there was no mention of tickets etc:,and i only saw it in the paper, when it was too late to go,as seems to have happenedto me over the years of supporting Darius;quite a few times! Very frustrating! Did any of the rest of you know? (Sorry, i didn't see it in paper. itwas on the S.t.v. regional news last friday,so far too late to do anything about it. Mabey, no tickets were available to the public, with Prince Edward opening it. AH WELL"Let us know about all your appearances, in future, Darius". "Not good enough,"You must do better"!!

'THAT LOOK'
I SUPPOSE A ' SHALLOW' OBSERVATION,BUT SEEING DARIUS IN THE POSTER, FOR FHTE,HE IS TRULY MORE HANDSOME THAN ANY FILN STAR, PAST OR PRESENT. ALSO DARIUS'S BARITONE VOICE, IN PARTICULAR, SURPASSES ANY I HAVE EVER HEARD, WITH ITS RICHNESS. HE ALSO HAS THE KNACK OF MAKING BARITONE SOUND MODERN, UNLIKE OTHER OPERATIC SINGERS. DOES ANYONE KNOW, RECOGNISE, OR UNDERSTAND WHAT I AM TRYING TO SAY? SUFFICIENT TO SAY, HE HAS A GREAT ALL ROUND TALENT. I SUPPOSE THIS CAN BE A CURSE IN SOME WAYS, WHEN GREAT FOCUS IS REQUIRED!

photographer
have noticed this before, but this has to be one of the worst photographs, particulary of Natasha, but both bodies have 'squat' weird short bottom halves & the worst effect is on Natasha, both top & bottom! i wonder what causes this effect, as it totally misrepresents two normally perfectly proportioned people.i dont know anything about photography, but surely no professional photographer would get it as bad as this! & of course, sinceimages can be so important nowadays, then its unforgivable, so i hereby, formally, sack the "photographer" anaway what a lovely anniversay journey& wouldn't it be great if we all had aDarius in our lives, but meantime the promise of a new album will do very nicely. no recent clips from vibratos & i looked forward to them. anyone enlighten?
-
'where did you get that hat'?!
nice to see the video clip& get update on album, but Darius, please throw that hat away Quick! it is totally out of proportion with head & produces a comical effect. sorry Darius- i'm one of your biggest fans, but that hat is not for you! does anyone know if Darius still performs at 'VIBRATO'? Haven't heard any news of any recent performances. Last one was ages ago, where he sang the 'GODFATHER' theme, which was just wonderful.

Darius
hi, was watching celebrity big brother, last night & when the 'slightly creepy' man (jamie) was interviewing Rhiana, the blonde girl, who is being bullied by the scary dark haired girl; he, jamie asked Rhian at 'face to face', who she liked/ fancied; she said; "i'm a huge fan of Darius Danesh", "ALWAYS HAVE BEEN,FROM DAY ONE"!. HE REPLIED; " I Didn't expect that"! , then it switched back to him, saying "oh Darius Danesh", "i've heard he's got a huge (P). sorry girls, i cant bring myself to write that word, referring to ones private parts,so aged am i! anaway, she seems very nice, is being bullied, & perhaps telling the nation she is a huge Darius fan, makes her deserving of our vote to save her. evition is tonight, and vote is to save!, so save Rhian, for her obvious good taste.i intend giving her a few votes

Darius: Bits and Pieces 7
hi megham, was graterul you put up darius's performance, at vibrato. i cant stop playing it here at the library, as i dont have computer at home. it was my favourite ever ,because of his fantastic rendition ,singing the godfather theme/song. just so powerful & amazing, so beautiful! i could listen forever. i'm not very good on internet, so is there any way you can send it to me via my e-mail? which is--------- telfer.47@hotmail.co.uk. thank you in anticipation, and i'm so glad you put it up. jeanette.

Popstar to Operastar
hi-does anyone know why joe got a record contract with Universal'for winning p.s.t.o.?! HISvoice was not as good as Darius, meaning, yes, he's a nice singer, but lacked the power to sustain some notes for this type of music, & had nothing like the polish or acting skills that Darius displayed- but i did notice that Rolando praised him to the hilt' right from the outset, & of course the other judges just followed suit. in many ways it is one of the worst things Darius has done- no prize/ record contract & any small praise given by Rolando was so grudging,&at one stage, positivelyencouraged the silly remarks made by Lewellyn Bowen. only at the very end, did the remarksbecome more positive, when they saw he would probably win. Rolando didnt like him-he wasnt a daft wee boy, who didnt question anything & lets face it - Darius attracts a lot of jealousy from some men! we'll just need to wait & see what Darius does next & at least Darius knowshow unfair life can be, but somehow rises above it all. also about the cancelled appearance- they could easily have had Darius on at a later date-or even on non singing, but they chose to ignore him completely- not even a whisker of a mention! WEIRD & slightly sinister, dont you think. for us fans its the unfairness that wrankles. Afew years ago,Victoria Newton ,then,of the 'Sun' said she would do all in her power to ensure he didnt succeed- she went on to the'NEWS OF THE world to a higher position, so i hope for some form of 'poetic justice' although, no doubt, she'll just move back to the Sun' anaway, here's hoping we all hear something more positive from Darius soon. regards, jeanette.

overheard
hi everyone,im still very unsure of how to post. two previous posts done here at the library, appeared to be shown on site , but when i returned ,a couple of days later, no sign,&no response from any of you, a bit dissappointing- dont know what i did wrong? anaway- one last try. Just thought i'd like to ask you all, what you think of this short conversation ,i overheard, on the bus. Boy humming,'boom boom'- then the girl sitting beside him asked-"who is it"? boy replied, "dont know" i only heard it online, this morning-"it goes-Boom Boom- the girl in the room"- "its great -isn't it"? They seemed like students-abt,18-19. as i got up to leave,he was still humming'BOOM Boom'. is there another song, sounding the same? doubt it. mystery deepens. can you throw any light? incidentally, on my way into Glasgow city, yesterday, it was lovelyto see the posters with DARIUS all over the bus, promoting SNOWHITE. &YES I'LL BE GOING TO THAT TOO. JEANETTE
