I think we need to remember that this is reality tv and that footage is chosen by the production team. It's possible, that throughout the week and on the night after the performances, that he has made similar comments on others that haven't been featured. I'd like to think that was the case, as he really does strike me as a nice guy, who makes honest comments, though of course I could be wrong. I watched again Rolando's comments on the show and he only seemed to favour Bernie a little IMO. Most, including Darius, received praise and constructive criticism. We'll just have to see what this week brings.

I heard Meatloaf singing at some festival on tv a few years ago and he was awful. His voice seemed shot, like many people's seem to with the advancing years. Even with his baffoonery as a judge on this show, I still like Meatloaf and have loved some of his music, so I hope for his sake he doesn't embarrass himself :unsure: I have had an idea about sponsoring family to vote for D on my behalf, paying them for their calls. I am in two minds about this, as I am not sure if I want D to win as a result of doing this and also the fact that I don't have an infinite supply of money at the moment. I do definately want D to win though, so I'm stuck here in two minds right now :unsure: Does anyone else have any thoughts on this please?

Damn! I hate my girlie sounding voice :( It only gets deep when I sing :( Certainly out of context but most people watching are likely to have as little knowledge of opera as I do, so most of what we view is pretty much the same. Given that, and the fact that D was spot on with it's delivery, I think it will help showcase his voice, especially to people who haven't heard him sing anything but deeply. He chose to perform this in a similar way as Bernie chose to hit that extra high note the other week, to show what she was capable of. I agree with Spam, if I had to choose 1 it would be the lower, but I'm greedy, so I'll take all three thank you very much :D

If D is singing this, I think he'll nail it, but I don't think it's a huge vote winner, so we will really need to get our dialling fingers in action this week I feel. Although Marcella did well with her previous German song, I don't think they've done her any favours, making her sing again in German. I wonder what language Kym and Bernie will sing? I don't feel she has been as good overall as D, but I feel Bernie might go on to win :( Rolando keeps raving about her, and she is popular anyway. She is good, but I don't feel she deserves to win. If not D, then even though I am not keen on her, I would say Marcella would deserve it more than Bernie!

D was great, I cannot forget how IMO Lorraine's attitude towards him seemed to changed the second she started working for the Sun :angry: Look forward to the live performance though Thanks BT! :)

After the initial euphoria of him getting through and the discussion of the show etc! it does seem to go a little flat for me too. I must admit though, I am allowing my mind to wonder and I'm having great thoughts of album, tour and lots of great D happenings this year, and it's exciting me quite a lot Just hope some(if not all and more) of the dreams come off, or I could be building myself up for a huge disappointment :unsure:

I must admit, I quite liked the way he pronounced it too, though I'd like it more if he didn't seem to have a down on D :angry: Wikiname has it how I would expect it to sound, and their reference relates to an Old Testament Persian king. I think much of the description of the name there is most apt for our man! Almost perfect for D, what insight Booth and Avril must have had when they named him :)

How do you know that this is the way it was originally pronounced Meg? One thing for sure is that it's not how Darius pronounces his own name, so for me, Rolando is getting it wrong!

Exactly Meg, also singing in 3 languages that aren't English within the space of a few weeks is a walk in the park too :rolleyes: Sometimes I wonder what people expect of contestants appearing in a show like this :rolleyes: One final little bugbear, Rolando critiques D's French pronounciation but can't even manage to pronuonce D's name correctly, Dariuzz indeed! ^_^

Meg you look lovely just as you are :) . If you are carrying any extra weight, I haven't noticed it at all! I'm a jumbo, so the half stone I'v lost since Tuesday isn't even noticable :(

Tried to get up early enough to catch the re-run on itv but switched on just after D had finished :rolleyes: Danny's been favoured throughout, as I feel the producers wanted to maintain a younger element in the viewing public. He's only had to sing one language(I think) and has had a lot of favourable comments, many times unjustified IMO. I'm still P'd off with the negative spin about D from Rolando, and the fact that even when they comment positively on D, they don't rave about him like they do the others. Lyn thought Kym was best on the night(???) but said D was very good, but her first comments were based not upon his performance but on the fact that his fly was undone. I can't help but feel this distracted many other viewers too, though I don't necessarily feel Meatloaf meant it to have a detrimental affect on D, more that he was wanting to add something that the other judges hadn't mentioned or picked up on, to add a little credence to his presence(remember his protest to AT).

Unfortunately not, so far anyway Bramley :( Good to see you back though :) I'm still hoping for that special email, but I doubt very much that I'll be lucky enough. At least I can spend the money saved on voting for D not that I had it spare anyway though, I run a very expensive wife at the moment :D She's worth it though :wub: Have you had this sick bug that's going around? I've been bad since 5am Tuesday morning and I'm still queezy if I try and eat now :(

I just sincerely meant that, wether anyone voted 1, 100 or 1000 times well done, because we all contributed to D going through :) I hope that's how it came across BT :) (not that I could possibly know how many votes anyone has made in any case) I have to say I wholeheartedly agree with you on the level playing field comment :angry: Danny has so many support singers that you can't even hear his last note and they can't even spare D a body to perform against :rolleyes: My God he was good though wasn't he :yahoo:

Oh I hope so Sue :D I thought the climate in Scotland was tropical BT, would they need wellies up there :D Sooz said it was quoted in a tv guide somewhere. I would much rather it be a 3 person final, but I suppose if D makes it, we will get to see more of him in that show if there's only 2. I would also assume that they will possibly duet with their corresponding mentors, for one of their appearances(D with K, B with R) so this would support a male female finish IMO too, though I'm sure D won't be getting any favours from the Judges bench ^_^ I felt Meatloaf stood up a little for D this week though, which is encouraging :) Meg, for just those few minutes wouldn't David vote on your behalf? I realise he might not dial as speedily as you probably would, but he could still vote virtually as much, and then you get to see the live show too :)

To everyone here who's paying the price, be that 1 vote or a hundred, a massive well done Let's just vote our heads off and make him the winner we know he is :) I'm gonna slip into my Meatloaf immitation here darlin' and quote Shakespeare. "To be or not to be – that is the question!"

Ok, breath back, what a superb performance Hope he hasn't peaked too soon though :unsure: If they want him out, they might well give him something hopeless to sing. Jesus, it's frustrating how much power people on shows like this have to weild over the contestants! Force them to sing out of range, show clips of less than flattering moments etc! Imagine how awful it would have been if D had signed with Cowell way back :o We might not be seeing about now if he had. Whatever happens here, I am delighted D is the person he is, and won't let himself be rail roaded in life. Yes with Danny out, he's likely to pick up some. It's possibly why he is following so many McFly fans on Twitter, but not many D fans :rolleyes: Oh well! I feel it's got to be a male female final. Kym must go out next week and if 2 are going, then I would guess Marcella will leave too, though not necessarily because Bernie is better than her. I want D in the final and a landslide winner. I'm gonna have to buy a speed redial phone though, as mine doesn't work.

I cannot see D surviving a bottom 2 vote, however wonderful and above the rest he was. We will just have to vote and stop that eventuality! Not happy with Rolando this week. Darius is playing the game, well that's an F ing shock! So is everyone else on the poxy show, it's just that they all get support from the judges and D unfortunately just doesn't seem to. Even the "brilliant" comment from Katherine seemed extremely reserved :(

Danny should have been out last week for me! He hasn't excelled, and has been given a pretty easy ride of it really. He seems like a really nice lad though! I don't care if D was 1st or last to qualify, why can't they just bloody well announce him safe first!

I missed some of Danny's performance, but for the life of me, I can't think why he got such good comments???
