  1. I know what you mean, as I have noticed she has bulging veins in her neck, when she strains out the higher notes. I wish I was a little more familiar with opera, as I can't really tell who is best of her and D. I certainly know who I prefer, but that's necessarily who's best.
  2. How do you feel Marcella is doing? I thought she was best of the ladies, and possibly overall so far, though as I have said, I don't really like her that much.
  3. Well at least with all these challenges, even D can't make it look too easy! Maybe(and big fingers crossed), just maybe these trials are benefiting D and his continued participation  though he has performed comfortably well enough to deserve to still be in the competion IMO :)
  4. I have a feeling Jimmy will be out this week, even singing a proper aria, though hope I am wrong, as long as it's not at the expense of D going :o I'd quite like to see Marcella bottom 2, as I feel she thinks she is likely to win, rather than just wanting to win, as the rest seem to. I think the judges would probably save her anyway, but it would be good to shake her perch a little :naughty:

Poor Bea :( Please be sure to send her my love Meg and let her know that I'm thinking of her, if you can.
  6. It may well be, but I don't feel you can totally eliminate the possibility, especially if the producers felt it would benefit the show(though not necessarily D). I'm hoping that the constructive criticism from Rolando and also the fact that he was given a tenor aria 1st week, are geared around highlighting or accentuating his progress. After LLB's nonsense comments about D, Katherine was about to speak, but Alan T stopped her, presumably due to time. Perhaps D had sung "that" phrase as she had suggested rather than Rolando's and maybe she was going to contradict LLB, what do you think?
  7. How do you know he won't BT?

Rachel's already said it's likely to be similar to Michael Buble's style, and I still absolutely detest Jazz ^_^ I only hope it isn't as bad as I fear :(
  9. Tweet from D

Yes I concur That would give them time to get those pesky new Bond movies out of the way and he could step up for his starring role :D

I think the current Bond fits the bill very well too(which was a shock for me as I wasn't expecting to like him) for where they have started with Casino Royale etc! I think his character will develop more over the next few films to being more seasoned and debonair, having learned and continued to develop his craft. 2-3 films down the line would probably be time for a change, and surely D would be a superb replacement The only downside is that we might get to see him even less than we do now :o but wouldn't it be fantastic to know, have met and chatted to, the current actor who is playing James Bond :w00t: and it wouldn't hurt D's career any if he did acheive this role IMO :)

I didn't know she was there to support D. A thought has just crossed my mind. It's probably nothing and more to do with what I want than what is reality but.... Dame Judi currently plays M in the Bond movies and what role have we said for a while, that D would be great for??? Well I can dream can't I :D but he would make a superb JB. Looks, charisma, charm, sophistication, combined with acting ability and the physicality to suit the role :)
  13. Let's just do our best to keep him out of the bottom 2. I would hate to think that D's continued participation in this show was anything to do with LLB's opinion and vote :o I think the principles are probably the same throughout BT, just the range difference, which I would guess Rolando and Katherine are experienced enough to be familiar with, as well as the vocal coaches. Great screencaps Meg Just wish we had the chance to get some photo's of our own :( Let's hope we do sometime in 2010 :) My goodness D is a handsome chap, Natasha is a very lucky lady isn't she :)
  14. It was a good performance, sounds better each time I hear it. I felt he was a little short changed by how they'd cut this aria and also that the tempo was somewhat slower than I'd seen on the youtube versions. He should have had more of the chorus to sing and at a slightly faster pace, and then the audience would have been compelled to clap along spontaneously. Pip, is your computer broken or do you just not have any speakers?

  16. Now I am doubly sure LLB is a waste of space  Thanks BT it's good to know he did alright :)
  17. Rolando was critical of D, but it wasn't only D. I like him and respect what he has done and said so far on this show. It's just such a crying shame that Meatloaf and LLB are there because one is cringeworthy every time he speaks and the other's presence is all but pointless IMO
  18. Does anyone other than BT speak fluent french? It would be interesting to know what someone who does feels about his diction. Is it me, or is it weird seeing D asking for votes? I can't ever remember him doing that(though it could well have happened before), and I've never heard him be remotely critical of anyone else that I can remember either.
  19. I thought he looked great this week. I think he tailored his look for this part and it worked for me :)
  20. I'd love D to stay in all the way, but I'm not sure my bank manager will be too happy  OK! Breath back, here's my initial thoughts. Marcella has a good voice, but I am really struggling to like her at all  Comment's like " I want to win this and I think I can" won't ingraciate her to the GBP. Although Jimmy's performance was probably one of the weaker ones this week, I am surprised he placed bottom 2 :o There must be many, many thousands of Osmond fans in this country, as they're extremely popular, so it shocked me a little. Glad he stayed in, although Vanessa was much better this week IMO. Danny sang well this week, not exceptional, but at least we could see he was taking it seriously. Kym and Bernie are solid performers, but neither really blew me away or matched Marcella on the night. Not sure what he'll get next week, but I'm hoping for a deep, meaningful aria that D can power out with great emotion and gusto. Lyn wasn't keen on him moving this week, though she realises that it's a part of this type of music and it's presentation. I thought he moved pretty well, though I've seen him more gracefull in the West End ;) Oh the joys of being a Darius fan
  21. Relieved he's through, but don't think his comments regarding the mentors will help him in this competition  D was good tonight but I just feel he's not really being given the chance to use his enormously powerful voice. I also feel this shortened version could have done with including more of the recognisable section of the aria. At least he's through, so we can look forward to worrying again for him next week :)
  22. Hope he gets through, fancy a vote anyone :D

Nice to know I have been noticed :D No not me really :D
  24. :o More like have the interview with Mylene and cut two of the judges for me :P or even all of the judges if it means we keep Mylene :D

I'm in two minds. In some ways it's great to hear an audience respond and complement the artist whilst they are perfoming(which is what the audience is encouraged to do). On the other hand, when the screams and squealls are so loud as to drown out the performer, it can be a real nuiscance. For me, the audience should just react genuinely to a performance, rather than being directed/encouraged by the warm up guy. At times last week, people were whooping it up at very mediocre points in some of the arias. Just seen your post Meg, and the warm up guy was encouraging the Stars In Their Eyes type of welcome, after they had sung the first line. \that would have been fine for most of them, but some didn't do great with the first line but got a screaming response anyway. It's a shame but I guess that's what they require for live reality tv.
