Chicago At The Garrick Theatre
Thanks BT! Panic over, Sister and Brother-in-law are looking after her thank goodness :yahoo: Just keeping my fingers crossed for a couple of nice stage door interactions now, to make the trip complete :) I'm only taking my little compact camera this time, as I doubt I'll get chance to use the dslr, and they are a bit cumbersome to lug around. If I do go again, I might take it with me, but not this time I think. Look forward to seeing you there around 4pmish tomorrow Meg :)

I get frustrated too when people have to mention the Britney thing. For once though, I didn't get the sense that it was any sort of a dig at D, more of a reference to what, for many, could be all they know of Darius. She was very complimentary of his performance, which as always, is nice to see :) On a negative note, I need to find a dog minder today or I'll have to cncel the trip  Mum and Dad usually look after our pooch and the person we'd arranged to have Jerry Lee has a really poorly dog and can't take her :( I'll make sure I let you know if I can't make it Meg, but fingers crossed someone can have her for the day times, as Lyn will care for her after work.

JB seems like a really nice guy to me, but his voice, whilst good, is nothing exceptional. Certainly not from what I've heard of it anyway!

I love Tony Hadley's singing voice, but his American accent made me cringe when I heard him in the 10th anniversary show ^_^

Lovely! See you there Meg :) That's a shame Nina :( I am hoping to come down again in December, so maybe wee could meet up then? Hope so :)

I doubt there's another who's played Billy Flynn who could hold a note longer(though I could be wrong), so it's either he has a cold or he's been asked to cut short the notes. God I hope he's not I'll for our performance  I can't imagine he could be much worse than he was when I saw him appear in Snow White, and he performed then, though this role is more demanding. I do seem to remember he missed a few shows from the Snow White run though  Tickets are now booked, so at least we should get top see the show, fingers crossed with D in it :)

Thanks BT! Nice positive review :) I was a little surprised when she mentioned "Darius Campbell was fantastic as Billy Flynn, fantastic singing voice (disn't hold such long notes though) " as we all know he can hold a note longer than most. The only time I've seen him struggle a little was when he was full of cold. Anyone know if this was the case? I hope he's on top form for this Friday ;) Meg, Mum, Dad and I will be coming straight to the theatre after we've checked into the hotel. I'd guess we'll be there about 4pmish if you're still free for a meet up :) Still haven't booked tickets, but I'm guessing there will be plenty available at the box office on the day. I might just get them booked anyway, as it would be stupid for us not to be able to see the show after travelling down. Had a similar disaster bringing Mum and Dad to go on the London Eye(after taking them to see a preview of the 1st show Popstar To Opera Star)which was closed for our visit  My own fault for not checking  Really hope we get chance for a photo and a chat with D :)

Same here :) Is anyone thinking of going over to New York to see him perform? My mind is hinting to me that I need to go, but my bank balance and wife aren't aware of it just now  :D Probably can't afford it, but I'll allow myself this little dream for a while :w00t: until the boss says no

Cool B-) Do we have an idea what months it might be Meg? I'd love to go, anyone fancy giving me a few thousand £'s so I can? :) Anyone? I think he'll do well over there and I think it will most likely open a few more doors for him too! I hope it does :) even though it'll probably mean we see even less of him than now :(

Great stuff, thanks Meg! :) Did you get to say hello again tonight? If so, what time did he arrive?

Chicago At The Garrick Theatre
If it were just me Meg, I'd check into the hotel and go straight to the theatre, but as I've got Mum and Dad I'm a little worried. I'm toying with the idea of leaving them at the hotel while I rush off and then getting them to meet me at the Garrick via taxi for the late performance. I'd then more likely than not get to see D, but it might be a struggle for Mum and Dad to  I've booked 1st class rail tickets, so our journey should be comfortable, and a meal is included, so I don't have to worry about them being hungry before the matinee if we do just check in and go straight there. Is there a cafe close by so I could sit them down and wait for D? Any info on stage door location etc! would be appreciated :)

That will be lovely Meg :) We'll arrange the details a bit closer to the day. Still not sure which performance to take my parents to see. We get into London at about 2.30pm but it might be a bit of a rush trying to get checked in and race around to try and see D arriving at the stage door. If we did though, if we miss him arriving, he might pop out between performances, so they could see him then. I'd imagine D will make his usual late arrival about 15 mins or so before the show begins, so I think that's what I'll aim for.

Chicago At The Garrick Theatre
I couldn't justify paying for a hotel for just myself :( so I decided to bring Mum and Dad with me :) We're attending on the 18th of November, is anyone else going that night? Any chance you'll be around that night Meg? It would be great to say hello :) Really hope Mum and Dad get a chance to meet D at the stage door too! I'm always telling them what a gentleman he is and I'd like it if they experience it for themselves :) I've booked the hotel and train tickets, but haven't decided on matinee or evening performance yet. I think discounted tickets are available for the matinee, but online they seem pretty poor seats. I thought I might source some discounted tickets from one of the ticket booths in the West End, to try and have a little more choice on where we sit. Failing this, I'll just have to pay full price :o Anyone got any suggestions on decent cut price ticket suppliers?

I have a spare ticket for that day, just let me know when that day is, ok? :)

Chicago At The Garrick Theatre
I was thinking of Thursday 10th of November but can't remember the name of the budget hotel I've stayed in previously. Everything else is coming up at £70+ per night, which I'd pay if Lyn were accompanying me, but I begrudge it for just myself. I might have to make it Friday 11th of Nov and just stay over 'til Sat afternoon. I can then attend a matinee and do 2 or 3 stage door interactions. Once I've made a final decision I'll try and let you know. I'm hoping for some decent pics as I haven't got 1 of D this year :o I don't think I'll be able to supply Booth with my usual Chjristmas cd of D images :(

Chicago At The Garrick Theatre
I was thinking of going down to the Thursday night showing, as you can get reductions on the full ticket price. I might stay over Fri and possibly Sat too, but just for the stage door interaction. I've seen Chicago too many times now to pay for top price tickets, even with D in it. I'll certainly have to see it at least once though. Will you be about Meg? It'd be great to say hello for the 1st time in 2011 :)

Chicago At The Garrick Theatre
Haven't started a topic in so long here I thought I'd open this one and get a B.P. showing on the topic's started list :) As it wasn't me that introduced the news, I hope no-one minds  Who's going and when? :)

Matinee should work for you Meg, Friday's 5pm start and Saturday's 3pm start :) You could be home before 9pm, not too late for your mum's bedtime is it? Let me know if I can help Nina :)

There are weekend performances Claire ;) Hope you get chance to travel down if you can :) "Cheap" train tickets and hotels are still expensive :( but it's L'Oréal and he's worth it :yahoo: Looks like the kids will have to manage without Christmas presents again this year  so pleased we don't have any kids :D What days are people going? I can't get there for the first showing(Meg say hi to D for us :) ) but I'd really like to meet up with some D fans when I do go as it's always easier when D's busy making the ladies swoon for me to "pretend" to be cool about seeing him

I wouldn't hold your breath for the 3rd album recording ladies :( but at least our man's back in town. Off to check schedule, train times and hotel rooms. Anyone fancy a meet up? :)

Had no idea he'd enjoyed such worldwide success Sooz :o Anyone who has "held the number one spot in 22 countries simultaneously!" has done pretty well B-) I still think D is better though :D

Where they? They didn't last very long over here from what I remember, so I'd be surprised if they had big success in the states Meg. How do you know they were big in the US?

I'm not sure I'll belive it even when I own it, as it's been on and off for so long! Years ago now he announced that the 3rd album was finished on tv, now he's supposed to be recording in November, well we'll see I suppose  It wouldn't shock me if he went on to another venture in the meantime, be that musical theatre, a film role or even a stint in one of the Las Vegas hotels with his jazz type stuff. I saw a program recently which showed one of the guys from Bros(Matt Goss I think) who has a regular weekend jazz show at Ceasar's Palace I believe. Whilst I think he has a reasonable voice, D's jazz would blow him away IMO. Oh the joys of waiting and waiting :D :w00t:
