Darius ready to charm!
Thanks for the review BT, glad you enjoyed it, it sounds like a great show I can't believe the snow is returning though <_< It's dashed any hopes of a trip up for me :(

How lovely Meg :) I quite like the quiet, but Lyn always has music playing. She drives me mad sometimes, with a radio playing in the kitchen, one playing in the upstairs dressing room, neither of which she can hear as she's in the bathroom <_< In her old car, she had a cd player with removable front, which since being stolen twice I insisted she removed every time she left the car. If she was moving her car 20ft from the pavement into the drive, she'd fit the stereo in place and switch it on for the minute or less it would take her to get into the drive <_< (where is that blow up head smiley when you need it) it drives me bonkers

I didn't feel you were doing him down Sooz, hope my fun post didn't come over that I thought you were  I have the same wishes as yourself, but when I expressed them to D at Lincoln he seemed a little dissappointed. I wouldn't lie to him though as I don't feel he would want that at all. We can only wait and see what direction he chooses next. I can't think of anything I'd have less interest in him doing than Opera, but I supported him at the o2 so will doubtless do so again, wherever he roam

What style would that be then Sooz  :D I would have settled for a big band album, even a live album from the show released for Christmas would have been something. Given the success of the show, surely it would have been worthwhile, as a live album wouldn't be too difficult to put together IMO. At least he's had a busy and successful 2010, let's hope for lot's more in 2011 ;)

4. Darius Campbell Darius is playing Prince Charming in Snow White at the King’s Theatre in Glasgow, a role that will no doubt suit him down to the ground. The smooth singer and actor, who is performing in his first pantomime ever this year, will net £11,000 each week for the stint. Late actor Gerard Kelly, who tragically passed away in October this year, was set to make £15,000 – a fee that audiences no doubt felt he more than earned with his hilarious antics on stage keeping them coming back year after year. I took this to mean net pay Bramley, but could be wrong  If it's not net pay though, the statement is a little misleading IMO.

It's not too bad considering it's net pay. JB is being overpaid IMO, I hope the Krankies are getting a reasonable amount. I'd much sooner see them than JB <_<

I'm sorry for those who attended and wanted to see Darius, but it does ease my guilt a little knowing that he never made the show. Thank goodness you didn't get to Glasgow Meg and double thank goodness you didn't get stuck up there :)

I'm glad you seem to be taking it ok Meg, but I have to say, I'm gutted for you :( Wish I'd just kept my big gob shut for once instead of suggesting it :( Sorry!

Had a sudden panic thinking you'd missed the show Meg as you'd posted here, then realised you're going tomorrow  If D can make London and back in a day, then you can make the reverse journey I'm keeping everything crossed for you :)

Sorry to hear you've had a fall BT :( Hope it's not too uncomfortble and that you make a speedy recovery  The panto sounds fantastic, I'm not sure if I'll be able to re-schedule though as we're in the middle of something and money's a bit tighter than usual. Even if I could, I think I'd end up sitting virtually in the car park(if it has one). Just have to see what happens. Hope everyone planning to go can make it. What dates are people hoping to attend?

Is there a darius fan in Glasgow who could use my single ticket? I can't exchange or refund it but it's possible someone could collect it from the box office(but this hasn't been gauranteed). Anyone I know as a Darius fan want to try?

I'd pay for another ticket if I thought it would be ok Meg, but I'm worried about getting back on the Saturday, as I'm working Saturday from 6pm. My train would have got me back around 2.30pmish, but with this snow and the related delays, I just can't risk it :( If I could have got to the train station today I probably would have gone anyway, even with the risk of a delay coming back. The good thing is it seems to be improving over the weekend, so hopefully you'll have no worries getting there on Wednesday.

Thanks for your words peeps! Sharon I Booked advance train and 1 of the 2 days hotel was advance so no chance of a refund there, (think I can get 1 day back though). I can't think that the theatre will refund either, but I'll try and contact them to see. At very least, I hope they'd allow a Darius fan in to see the show in my seat. Just really wish I could make it, oh well, next time maybe.

Unless we get a miracle thaw within the next 12 hours, I'm snowed in here and I'm not going to be able to go up to Glasgow to see D :( I'm losing well over a hundred pounds with hotel, travel and panto ticket, but I'm much more gutted not to be seeing D in another genre of the entertainment industry

I've dreamt of D several times. On most occasions the people around him are stopping me from seeing him(but I usually find a way), or my other favourite, I can't find my camera equipment  I have had some nice dreams about spending time with him though :) Don't you just hate that alarm clock sometimes! It ALWAYS goes off as I'm about to sing with him -_-

The spectre of redundancy is very unpleasant. I've been under it twice(in different jobs), but with some manoeuvering and a little luck, I've dodged it both times. I really hope they're able to do the same Sue. Positive descrimination is still descrimination and is unfair in my opinion. The jobs available should go to the best people for the job, be that all of those who are pregnant or on maternity leave or none of them. A student that worked for us as summer staff in London one year was going to Cambridge to study English. She was of the opinion that, because in the past, male applicants had been given priority, that it was time to redress the ballance by allowing more female candidates than male. I argued this was unfair and it should just be the best candidate regardless of gender, but she wouldn't take my point. I then countered by saying how would she feel if her application was turned down, only to allow someone with poorer results and potential than her to take her place, simply because they were part of another group which had been potentially descriminated against in the past, say an ethnic minority or a pregnant student etc! I could see the light bulb go off inside her head, though she never conceded to me that I might be correct. The best person for the job should get the job, regardless IMO.

He just seems so natural interacting with children. He'd make a superb dad!
