  1. I’m glad she’s taking her time to be honest. I’m excited by the prospect of her own remixes. It might garner some critical interest - especially if she does something unusual like a bonus cd. I really rate her mash-ups.
  2. I’d agree that Midnight Ride doesn’t fit on the album. But I just think it’s a fantastically crafted song. So I can’t bring myself to vote it out yet.
  3. Someone For Me - because it reminds me too much of Saxobeat. But I think that’s just me. Haha
  4. 01 Good as Gone 02 Lights Camera Action 03 Midnight Ride 04 Kiss Bang Bang 05 Taboo 06 Someone For Me 07 Hello
  5. Well-deserved placement for this classy number. I remember being surprised how well it caught the attention of the general public. It was very radio friendly though.
  6. Hello I find Shoulda Left Ya to be one of the more sophisticated songs on the album. Quite surprised by the low placing for that one.
  7. Fair assessment tbh I’m definitely biased but I tend to think the general public always have at least a mild curiosity over Kylie’s latest reinvention. That’s why I think lead artist might’ve helped this one … a little.
  8. Does anyone think the single would’ve fared better if Kylie had been given lead artist status? Giorgio is obviously a legend. But had he been charting as a lead artist in recent memory?
  9. I voted Diamonds and Hello. I listen to Hello more than some other tracks remaining, but it is inescapably similar to Padam. If they’d chosen a different sound to the clap machine, they’d have got away with it.
  10. For me this song was a return to form after the Kiss Me Once era fizzled. This track has a real sense of intention. The beat stomps and the guitar riffs are fresh. And Kylie purrs and belts all over it. Maybe one of my favourite vocals from her actually. Really impressive. Still absolutely love it.
  11. If Breathing had been a single, Baby might be raking it in from piriteze adverts every summer.
  12. I was fully expecting Breathing to be a single at the time, given the special design treatment in the album booklet. I think it might’ve performed better than Crickets, which was a bit of a curve ball.
  13. Diamonds for me. Though it’s not bad at all. She’s a basic banger.
  14. Like That was an instant favourite for me. After her previous singles, I was blown away to hear that on the album.
  15. If I were to dream up a video for Too Many Teardrops - I’d go for a vintage angle again. It’s got an old western vibe to the instrumentation, especially with the percusssion and guitar. I could see Emma on horseback, trekking down a hillside into a spaghetti western set. I’m imagining a nod to Marilyn Monroe in River of No Return. Maybe a scene in a saloon bar and shoot out against the dirtbag heartbreaker :P I’d also love those flickering old film-reel effects and retro movie graphics.
  16. Completely agree Mr. X. At the time, I thought Emma really needed to make more of a splash with her follow-up (after releasing a cover as a lead single). TMTAT is so radio friendly. It’s a crime it was overlooked.
  17. Perfect Strangers is really pretty. Could have had a cute video … maybe a pastiche of an Audrey Hepburn movie. To go back to an earlier LIM track, I never knew that pronunciation of Mischievous to be incorrect. I had thought it was one of those words that was pronounced differently by region (never noticing the spelling). Nice to learn something new!
  18. Dance To The Music. For me it’s a fantastic live show segue, but not much more. I should’ve voted last round. My Oh My gets too much of a tough time 😆
  19. But if we love a Bunton moody moment, and I surely do … what on earth is Life in Mono doing at number 25? 😅
  20. Double-time Let Love Lead the Way is actually a bop. It sounds kind of reggae. haha
  21. Such a shame that this beautiful closing track was somewhat lost among the cover versions tacked on to the end of the album. It gives me such classic Cilla vibes. I’d have preferred this track to get the single treatment over the less-catchy AINTK, but not over the fantastic Take Me To Another Town.

Happy 2025 Spice fans! Really hopeful for new music. Melanie gave us some excellent dance tracks with her last album. I’d love more of the same. Dreaming that she will arrange us a surprise televised MEM performance (and alternative studio recording) of her best banger. She could make waves.
  23. Stunning vocal. Incredible orchestra. Definitely the best solo version. But I do find the production a tad bare for my tastes. I really miss the deeper harmony of “Wanna make love to ya baby”. I reckon a double bass could’ve played that bit. Anyway that’s why I’m giving it a 7.
  24. Aw. It’s amazing to think Baby was only 24 in that video. You can really notice a change in her confidence when she sings now. She sounds much more sure of her voice these days. But she’s always had that lovely tone and pitch.
  25. Never understood why you’d rush out for the newspapers. Radio times, maybe .. but newspapers?!
