  1. Yes Carol! Total album highlight.
  2. 1. Blame It on Me 2. Who I Am 3. In and Out of Love 4. Overload 5. Good Enough
  3. Fine wine right now. But Cherry Bomb is a firm fave *cough* should've made the album *cough* Chocolate is nice too.
  4. I still desperately want a better remix of IYWHSF. I'm gagging for a bit more tempo on this track. It's just a little lethargic for me. Needs to be easier to dance to. I can imagine it could really go off. It also needs to be shorter too, of course.
  5. Into You. Here I Am is fast becoming my favourite track. I'll be sad to see that one go.
  6. EOE. It is stunning. But it's just less my sort of thing than the rest.
  7. 'Every Day's Like Christmas' is a Christmas essential for me. Also 'Christmas Isn't Christmas Til You Get Here' is the underrated gem of the album. Best original Christmas songs in years.
  8. Agree. KM94 could've been called Confide in Me. Body Language was a great album title. Shame it didn't have a dancier musical style to go with it.
  9. It's hard to vote out any of these career highlights. But I'm going for 'End of Everything' because Melanie's musical theatre tendancies are showing a little in this one. But I still like it a lot.
  10. High Heels because it doesn't fit the album quite so well as the others. Escape is great.
  11. Perhaps let's not get quite so personal. We can respect a difference in opinion and debate politely. Personally, I'm finding the 'Overload' lyrics are really resonating for me right now. There is real truth in "Why do you treat me so bad when you need me so much?". Which is why I am leaving my job this week. Haha
  12. Another single that I love. The vibe reminds me of a low-key 'Numb'. But I find this to be a more sophisticated song. To me, the development is x10. I think Melanie is really raising our expectations this era.
  13. One of the best things about Kiss Me Once is how much it sparks debate between the fans. We are all so accustomed to perfection. There are some truly great moments on the album. But imo many of its weaknesses lie with production and management decisions. They did Kylie dirty.
  14. That was the best thing Channel 5 made for about a decade!
  15. I enjoyed the vocal. It was nice to see Melanie loosening up for a televised performance. Often she really focuses on technical perfection. But this time she used the stage a bit more and had a little bop. It was fun.
  16. I have to confess that I don't usually buy physicals because I move around a lot, and can't house a collection. But I always download on iTunes. However, I have ordered the physical 'Melanie C' CD because (a) it looks beautiful and (b) if the singles indicate the standard, it's going to be a fantastic body of work. Melanie C is really delivering for the fans right now. I'll certainly want to look back fondly on this time. I will buy the iTunes download too, of course.
  17. That is a stunning shot. Wit woo. I want it huge, in black and white, on my wall.
  18. I think it's an achievement. Admittedly I've not listened to the radio for years. But 1Xtra used to play less mainstream music than Radio 1. To me, it's the cooler cousin. For an artist like Melanie C, who was previously so mainstream, to be creeping back into favour with a more 'upcoming artist' station... it's a good sign. If 1Xtra plays her new music, maybe other stations will be influenced to follow suit.
  19. 'Reason' lacked the punch of 'Northern Star' but I have fond memories of chilling out with the album. I agree that 'On The Horizon' was necessary on the album and as a single. My favourite tracks from the era are 'Let's Love' and b-sides 'Love To You' and 'Like That'. The other b-sides still sound a little meandering and unfinished to me. Bit envious that I never managed to get into them as much as everyone else. My single run would've probably gone: Let's Love On The Horizon Love To You Water
  20. The video looks real slick. Melanie is smashing 2020.
  21. Changing it up but keeping it relevant. I like it.
  22. I really liked Emma's first three singles. I think the quality is there. But at the time, I did think it strange how TMBA sounded so much like a Corrs song, which was a bit off-brand for a spice girl. Thinking back to Geri's very successful, very Ginger Spice debut album, and Mel B's successful early singles being intrinsically Scary Spice (her being the most like her character anyway)... I wonder if Emma would've had more longevity if she'd gone a bit pop in the beginning. I mean, Britney is basically dressed as Baby Spice in 'Baby One More Time' video. I can imagine quite a different debut for her. Obviously 'Free Me' would've smashed, had it been Emma's debut. So I know that would have been the ideal.
  23. IAOOL is my favourite of this era too. Lyrically, it's very refreshing. Really uplifting but not in a campy way. Not that I mind a bit of camp, but this just seems more universal.
  24. Voted 'Spice Up Your Life' - even though it is possibly the most perfectly branded piece of pop ever created. And I'm so glad they have it in their arsenal. It makes them so memorable. But 'Say You'll Be There' has a cool r'n'b edge and better lyrics. 'Viva Forever' is divine, obviously.
  25. It's everything I hoped for. The song is fantastic. Really easy to listen to but also delivers plenty of punch. I'd say most radio friendly after WIA from this era. Her moves and looks in the video are stunning. I'm already obsessed with that side-parted hair style. I hope we see lots more of that. It gives her a bit of edge.
