  2. I'm only commenting on Ross in his capacity as a judge on this show. I don't follow his entire career and I'm not commenting on his entire career. I'm not a professor. But one only needs to read the first page of an improv book to know a RuPaul improv challenge is not actually improv. It grates me that talented, hard-working queens are critiqued on their improv abilities based on a scene that has been pre-shaped and contrived by a director. The performers are not fully able to make authentic moves, which reflects badly on their perceived abilities and opens them up to criticism. Yet Ross is praised as hilarious, for a much smaller contribution. That's my opinion. It's not fact. There are no case studies to support it.
  3. The belligerent use of the term "hilarious" is painful. Ross Matthews has never been witty or insightful and he certainly has no understanding of improv. I really don't get that tagline at all. So Carson by default. He's fairly inoffensive, I guess.
  4. Wow. I really enjoyed that arrangement. Makes me want a Spice Girls and Jools Holland TV Special.
  5. I reckon Emma was looking at Geri thinking, "I wish someone had told the pregnant lady that we were allowed to wear a moo moo." Haha
  6. I won't hear a word against that fringe. Melanie looked absolutely smoking hot.
  7. I agree that the For Once In My Life performance was painful but I don't think Mel was to blame. It looked really badly planned. Everything was OTT - the dance routine, smoke machines, light effects, wind machines, even her hair was all over the place. But she struggled through like a true professional. I felt overwhelmed just watching it. I don't know how she coped. She also needed more reverb on her mic and some background harmonies on the lines of the song that she was singing. The whole performance was too exposing and overly ambitious. What was her manager doing? Did she have one?
  8. Lady Gaga - Bad Romance Easy peasy.
  9. Oh the shade at Emma's dancing ability. Surely you've not forgotten the 'Maybe' choreo? I actually think that rank is the unpopular opinion here! Haha
  10. What a result! Really nice to go out fighting. Love Thing is a recognised banger.
  11. Goodbye is a gorgeously crafted, heart-wrenching ballad with sensational vocals from every girl. And it was an iconic moment in pop music. But I listen to Holler all the time, sooo... Holler.
  12. I have great memories of this single campaign. It was a glorious summer in the UK and I was just beginning to find myself as a gay person. It really brought Kylie back to me in a way that I wasn't expecting. It seemed Kylie was making a big effort to give her fans something they that would absolutely love. I felt like she was really embracing us with 'Spinning Around'. And she hasn't stopped since. She's such a generous artist and we're very lucky. I also think she timed her comeback perfectly. The Spice Girls were pretty much fizzled out by 2000 and the pop landscape was primed for a new, slightly elevated, style of pop. Incidentally, in terms of embracing their fans, I see a similarity in what Melanie C is doing for her Spice fans at the moment - only on a much smaller scale obviously.
  13. I Believe In You. But I totally expected that to be an unpopular opinion. The song marked a real step change after Body Language. And I felt such optimism about where Kylie was headed musically.
  14. Lady Gaga - Dance in the Dark Spice Girls - Love Thing All such strong choices. I remember thinking that Breaking Dishes should've been a single at the time. But the other two just edge it for me. The Spice Girls track has that raw sound of the nineties that I love. It's rich with chemistry and there's some real punchy vocals.
  15. Top three is amazing tbh. And all this push and shoving has certainly brought 'Love Thing' into my Saturday in a major way. So whatever happens now, it's all good. Well done Jay and Spiceboy.
  16. Haha. Sounds far too healthy to me
  17. You married a non-spice fan?! :o JK. Excellent feedback
  18. For the record I also think Geri should have released 'Love never loved me' as a pre-album single. It was way more indicative of the album and more her usual style than Desire. I felt it had a bit more too it than Ride It too - which imo sounded like a remix of a song we never got. B-)
  19. Re-listening to 'Love Thing' - it grabbed me much quicker than any of the Spice World options. So despite the less expensive production, it got my vote. Burn is my preferred solo option. Love Breathing too but it's less immediate for me.
  20. I'd go for something from Spice World. Anything except 'Lady is a Vamp' is a good shout. As much as I love all of the Emma suggestions, we might be wise to capitalise on the legendary status of the group at this stage.
  21. Lady Gaga - Marry the night Melanie C - Loving you Kylie - Love at first sight
  22. 'Loving You' is my favourite. But 'On The Horizon' is very likeable too ... unless your name's Melanie Chisholm. I think 'Headlines' would be suicide.
  23. Lady Gaga - Gypsy Madonna - I Don't Search I Find Spice Girls - If U Can't Dance
  24. I have to agree with Mr.X completely. I love Geri's song writing. She's can be an intelligent, deeply sincere lyricist. And other times she's very tongue-in-cheek and witty. At the time I enjoyed the album because I loved Geri. But, with my more mature ears, her vocals couldn't carry a ballad, imo. Calling is a stunning song though. I think the era stalled because Spice fever had finally faded tbh. Geri's personality wasn't enough. She was being held to a higher standard.
