You mean you forgot the papers too?!

Heidi performs on Virgin Radio
The lungs on this girl! She made that song sound like a power ballad.

Tension II ● album discussion
Good as Gone and Kiss Bang Bang are still on repeat for me. But Someone For Me is up there too.

Heidi performs on Virgin Radio
Heidi’s voice conveys so much emotion. I’ve always loved it too. Hope she records something as a solo artist, for herself as much as the fans. Her talent deserves to be celebrated. She always comes across as completely professional, sincere and kind too. A class act.

Emma Bunton • General Discussion
Aw. Good job Baby. As a fan of the film, I appreciate how Emma adapted her singing style to give a faithful rendition. Our queen of covers strikes again.

Emma Bunton MegaRate ✨ - WINNER on Page 13 🥳
Really like the last three to leave. But I don’t begrudge. Seems like we’ve got a solid gold top 20 in store.

Spice Girls • All Released Songs, Rarities and Demos Lists
This would’ve been fairly cool in 1996. I think I prefer it to Feed Your Love. Could’ve been a b side. Would like to see the lyrics though. Sounds like Emma sings “diddly-do day”. That can’t be right?

Spice Wrapped
Sadly not a sign of them in mine this year. I’ve been getting my nostalgia hit from Kylie and Sophie Ellis Bextor this year.

Kylie Unwrapped 2024
Lovely to see Kylie in everyone’s Wrapped. Kylie is my top artist again (top 0.001% fan here). My year was dominated by Tension II. But there are a few throwbacks mixed in. 1 Tension 2 Midnight Ride 3 Edge of Saturday Night 5 My Oh My (surprised myself with this one) 9 Vegas High 13 Kiss Bang Bang 17 Good As Gone 21 Lights Camera Action 25 Someone For Me 29 Things Can Only Get Better 33 Hello 37 Diamonds 41 Shoulda Left Ya 45 Taboo 49 Fine Wine 53 Padam Padam 57 Really Don’t Like You 61 Too Much of a Good Thing 65 Baby 69 Dance To The Music 74 Stars 78 Cherry Bomb 82 Closer 87 Lost Without You 91 Dance Alone 95 Shelby 68 99 Kiss of Life

Spice Girls • General Discussion
I’d have thought the money to license the music would be paid to the record company though? Not just a round million lump some to each of the girls. If they were exec producing or, as you say, providing content, I’d be more convinced. But the article suggests they wouldn’t have had to lift a finger. I just feel like this was written to feed the rift rumours and hate on Geri. Not a fan of that.

Spice Girls • General Discussion
If it were real, why would Left Bank Pictures be paying them a million each? Surely they didn’t pay the royal family to make a drama about them? And why is it always a nice round million each with these stories? Just sounds so click bait-y.

Melanie C - 'Version of Me'
Yes! It’s become my album highlight too. Bit of a masterpiece.

Impossible Princess ● album discussion
I suspect dropping the album title was a contributing factor to the poor sales. That must’ve hindered the campaign given it ended up with the same title as the previous album. An album track could’ve been chosen as a title track (Limbo, for example). There are some decent options. The fates seemed to conspire against her with this album. So glad our Kylie is no quitter.

I think it’s a daft story that some lazy journo has dreamt up … probably while drunk.

Santa Baby 2024
As long as people are saying her name, the song is doing us all a service. Another top 40 would be very welcome.

Tension Survivor FINAL ROUND
Voted Tension only because Padam Padam was so innovative and unexpected. Both are top tier for me.

Emma Bunton MegaRate ✨ - WINNER on Page 13 🥳
I’m always championing Better Be Careful. The instrumental has real punch and the mowtown sound compliments Emma’s tone perfectly. Serving me pure Diana Ross. Love it.

WNGST sounds *a bit* like a Spice Girls b-side. It’s kind of awkward that it’s about the girls having her back, but Spice Girls had obviously disintegrated at this point. The temu spice girls backing dancers (soldiering through without much choreography) don’t help on that score either. So for me, the campaign *slightly* undermined Emma as a solo artist. Edit: *Realised I sounded a bit too strong in those opinions there.

Emma Bunton MegaRate ✨ - WINNER on Page 13 🥳
I reckon that strategy would’ve scored her a respectable hit.

Emma Bunton MegaRate ✨ - WINNER on Page 13 🥳
The album version of WNGST is a little better. But even that has a bare vocal arrangement that needs filling out with some harmonies. If the single had to fall in that slot, I’d have gone double a side with Better Be Careful and A World Without You. It’s a shame Emma couldn’t have released High On Love as a summer single too tbh.

Emma Bunton MegaRate ✨ - WINNER on Page 13 🥳
For me, the production on this song sounded quite dated and lazy even at the time. Could’ve been made in 1994. I got the feeling they included it for the title. But it doesn’t really deserve it’s the title track status.

Emma Bunton MegaRate ✨ - WINNER on Page 13 🥳
At the time I thought it was a strange song for them to choose. I would’ve preferred them to do a non-musical song and just bang it on the album anyway. As long as it had a sympathetic sound. For me, a John Lewis ad cover version would’ve been lovely. Imagine them having a Lily Allen/Slow Moving Millie type moment. Maybe a cover of something like Gravity by Embrace … although Embrace fans would be outraged 😆

Tension Collabs
Fave: Edge of Saturday night. Although Midnight Ride is a better song, Edge has an addictive quality that keeps drawing me back. Least fave: Dance Alone - a little repetitive for my tastes.

Tension II ● album discussion
I’d be concerned if Kylie left BMG. Sure. I don’t understand why releases are not always very synced up to maximise chart position on the first week. But I guess there may be manufacture and logistical reasons. And chart positions don’t indicate quality these days. But other than that, I think they’ve done her absolutely proud. The music has moved in a really organic direction. Kylie is developing more than other artists at a similar stage of their career.
