Just wondering, would we be allowed to use solo singles? I noticed the Beyonce forum is using a mix.

'Feels So Good' deserved an amazing video.

 

But it's like having a house tour by an overly enthusiastic estate agent.

That 'Free Me' artwork is perfection. Still blows me away every time I see it.

 

And Maybe's 'Sweet Charity' references are everything. Possibly the best Spice Girls choreography ever.

'Holler'. It's criminal that it's so unknown. The world is missing out!

Lots in this line up for me to gag over. Even Valentina comes across well in this clip.

Yvie for me. We've seen a few early drafts of some solid concepts from her this season. But I think the potential is there for absolute genius.

 

That said, I think she's been lucky to get away with some of her messier presentations.

 

Brook Lynn has a more finished aesthetic, but I don't think she's nailed the 'uniqueness' requirement.

 

Shame Nina's not there. She had all the C.U.N.T.

My tickets for 15th June came by email yesterday (from Gigs and Tours)! So relieved.

 

I'm feeling such nostalgia. For me, this show will be a real moment of reflection (as well as absolute joy).

 

And any sadness about not being able to see them live before now, will finally be erased.

 

It feels great to be excited about what the Spice Girls are getting up to again!

Love 'Colour My Life'. It's got a lot more groove to it than most of 'Body Language'. Very dance-able.

 

I'd agree that 'Rock Me' has the laid back sound of KM94. But I like that. Couldn't see it on 'Golden' though.

I love the part of 'This Is The Way' video where Julian McMahon seamlessly transitions from drinking his water to washing with it. So bizarre it's hilarious.

I always thought Roxxxy was probably expecting a heavy Cher treatment on that vocal. Girl needed a ton of vocoder and reverb for that to sound even passable. Still voted for it though.

Delta did a beautiful job. She really felt the words. And that voice! :wub:

She's on about half way through second part. She looks amazing and comes across very well.

 

No news as such. But there's an interesting video statement from Phoenix about living with Stephen.

If I was miffed at last week's result, I'm absolutely raging this week.

 

Fashion is subjective. If Nina's cycling shorts were by Moschino the judges would eat them up. Hell, if they were on a skinny queen, they'd praise her body. At least her outfit was well made.

 

Shuga as a comedy queen was joyful and fairly well-realised.

 

In my opinion, Yvie should've been in the bottom. But they knew she'd send Silky home.

 

The biggest talent left this week and it was so calculated.

Urban sound ? I wouldn't put the first single "not such an innocent girl" as urban

 

As Jay said, I think AMOIO was a bit of an anomaly for me. But respect that you like it. Each to their own.

 

I can definitely hear R'n'B influences in 'Not Such An Innocent Girl'. It nods to that Darkchild sound of the time ('Forever', Brandy's 'Full Moon'). And 'Out Of Your Mind' was pure garage.

Personally, I think 'Let Your Head Go' shows VB's full potential. I'm expecting that to perform much better.

 

I wish she'd taken that direction with the first album. She could've been the British J-Lo.

 

'A Mind Of It's Own' is too cheesy for me. And there's also a disconnect with her typically urban sound.

I'd have to go with some sweet-natured queens if they were going to be in my house. So probably Miss Vanjie, Monet X Change, Jujubee, Nina West and Shangela.

 

Hopefully no cat fights there!

First Day of My Life x 3

 

I really dislike the typography of the BI era. It's too emo. And an uncomfortable contrast to the mumsy styling. Both are a miss for me.

 

Surprised that 'Yeh, Yeh, Yeh' is the least fave song. But I appreciate it underperformed (due to lack of promo).

Personally, I'd be gutted if they chose 'Do It' over 'Naked'.

 

But then I'm still dreaming that 'Song For Her' might make an appearance. :P

I love the European 'Better Alone' video (with the lake). Melanie looks like a maniac.

I am glad she's gone back to pure pop and hopefully for the next album she'll finally do that Disco album that we all want and will be up there with her all-time classics.

 

I'd love for Kylie to serve us a new take on disco with influences from Studio 54 and 'Paris is Burning' :D

So relieved to see everyone is as outraged as I am by the result of this ep.

 

I wasn't a big Shuga fan but she was clearly 3rd this time. She developed so much in the challenge and met the runway category (three times).

 

I'd have put Silky and A'keria in the bottom two.

 

Silky was an obnoxious mess as usual and A'keria ignored the runway category. That should've counted against her. They've set a bad precedent there.

I'll miss 'Did It Again' too.

 

Didn't even notice they changed the colour of her outfit from the calendar photo. Looks seamless.

I do like the cover concept. I have a lot of admiration for whoever noticed she had 12 letters in her name, and used it so beautifully. But while that pose lends itself well to the composition, I would've preferred a new photo.

 

That said, I'm so happy Kylie has this coming out in time for Glastonbury. Really hope it helps bring her music to a new generation. It'll be a life-changing discovery for some young'uns, I'm sure.
