05 for I Know Him So Well. This has become my consistent rating for a cover that is well executed but hasn’t developed on from the original. Emma’s voice is gorgeous on it. But the song doesn’t excite me all that much.

For her next album, I really hope Melanie is considering a couple of spice girls duets a la Jessie Ware or Kylie … not a musicals ballad. She could save the spice girls fans from the absolute drought and desolation.

I’ve always quite liked this performance. The choreography was more advanced than their previous routines and they all smashed it every time. It never struck me that they looked drunk or uncomfortable. I enjoy how Melanie C throws her jacket off half way through. Given what the press were saying about her weight gain at the time, I admired that she was resilient and unapologetic. Styling wise, I think they look really cool but such a drastic image change probably didn’t help with international recognition and promotion. But they were bored of the caricatures. So fair play. Agree that live vocals would’ve improved public and critical reception.That was a shame because we know they could do it.

My scores may look quite harsh but I had to differentiate all those strong tracks on Free Me. So that set the bar quite high for the rest of them. I had a horrible time buying tickets yesterday. I’m still not over it. I had all my 6 tickets in the basket (all seated together) and an ‘Internal Server Error’ occurred as I was paying. I went back, forward, refreshed … and it wouldn’t allow me to pay. Luckily my friend hadn’t closed his browser and managed to get us 5 tickets (seated in two groups).But we were so close to having the best night of our lives. And now one friend has to be left out. Very sad for him. I’m so traumatised that I still can’t listen to Kylie today. But I hope to be over it by May 😅

At last. The fan base is ready for MEM. Imagine those three serving us a banger of a single - along the lines of Jessie Ware x Roisin Murphy ‘Freak Me Now’. Full Spice Girl costume with WDYTYA style video. They would smash.

IMO the momentum just wasn’t built enough with HICA. It’s lovely but not all that catchy. I still couldn’t sing the chorus off the top of my head. So the battle may have already been lost by the time On The Horizon was released. But I’m probably being biased. Haha If we’re going full fantasy land, here’s my singles run: 1. Let’s Love 2. I reckon Let’s Love would’ve been a good lead. But On The Horizon was a solid second single imo. It’s a very listenable album. My standouts are Home and Reason.

It’s fab. I bought the album based on the strong b-sides for the lead single. So Let’s Love came closest to matching those expectations. That said, the record company would’ve had to choose between this and Yeh, Yeh, Yeh, with them being so similar.

It’s all a bit of fun. I quite enjoy seeing how fans imagine the lines would’ve been shared between the girls. And that Geri vocal is spookily accurate!

Midnight Ride. It offers surprisingly lyrical depth and a varied pace. The storytelling of the spoken section for example … evocative and sublime. Practically cinematic. And also high camp.

Desperate to watch this performance (without re-joining Spice Circle). This seems like another proud moment for Melanie C fans. She’s so unapologetically herself. And she just absolutely goes for it. Icon of girl power.

I voted for Slow. But would’ve preferred RBW for the win. Chocolate is very pretty but there are a few BL tracks I listen to more frequently.

I would be overjoyed with an Emma Bunton Christmas covers album. Her voice has a timeless quality that sounds exquisite on all the songs she covered on tour. If she chooses those same songs, it could do well across a broad demographic. I could easily imagine my mum buying it, for instance. She’s played her Buble cd to death. Personally, I hope we don’t get too many features. But I can see the business sense in what they did with My Happy Place.

I’ve had this on repeat all morning. Best Kylie collaboration for a long time. Even beats ’A Second to Midnight’ for me. Orville Peck’s voice is very moist-making.

Untouchable. It’s become my favourite song of theirs full stop. It just never grates. No matter how many times I’ve listened to it, or whatever mood I’m in. It’s always good.
