  1. Her delivery is flawless in its precision, of course. And I like that she's using the more mellow tone in her voice. I think the German fans will love it.
  2. That might be the best direction from a business perspective (if she wants the album to pay for itself). If she can get that market and also satisfy her gay fanbase, she might be on to a winner. I'm not talking chart smash. Just breaking even and maybe justifying a few nights in a small London venue.
  3. 100% agree with you. 'Finer Feelings' is one of my favourite singles but the album is a weird mix.
  4. Ooh. Even though I'm gagging for more of that 60's flavour (not covers btw), I'm sure I'd enjoy a dance/pop route if that happens.
  5. If 'Golden' does go, I think the next round will be difficult. The other three singles are too similar. They're all top-notch, well-produced tracks, with lovely vocals. But for general 'Joe Public' it could be hard to distinguish between them. Because, basically, they all have a hoe-down in the chorus.
  6. 'Golden' got my vote this time. It has a great concept but the album campaign conveyed the same sentiment. So I don't think it was necessary as single. To me, the song wasn't as single-worthy as some other tracks on the album (I'm including MTSWY in that statement).
  7. Oh yes, I'd still definitely welcome a leak of old material. :teresa: But my personal highlights of that album were the non-R'n'B tracks (High On Love, A World Without You, Better Be Careful).
  8. I thought GOMW was a great album track, but wasn't expecting it to follow ATL as a single. But then again, I was astounded that BTT was chosen at all.
  9. Just from this poll so far, it appears the most widely appreciated tracks have been chosen as singles. I find that interesting. Still in shock that MTSWY left so early.
  10. Well I was joking. And I don't really care about sales figures. But sadly, I do believe 'Forever' is their weakest album. Anyway, I'd prefer that he (and his brother) stay away from them in future. ;)
  11. I think Fred Jerkins has done enough damage to the Spice legacy, thank you
  12. Haha! Don't even talk it up. ;)
  13. Emma tweeted this two days ago, in case anyone missed it.. https://twitter.com/EmmaBunton/status/1039971703747694594 This is starting to feel real!
  14. Totally with you on this. My sentiments exactly. The only way RG could be less authentic or sincere, would be if it began... "I wanted to write a song called... 'Raining Glitter'" ;)
  15. I was reluctant to criticise an album that I love so much. But now that 'Music's Too Sad Without You' has gone. The gloves are off. So I'm throwing 'Raining Glitter' under the bus. It's a well-trodden road of obvious pop cliches. It's frothy and fun, but it doesn't have a whole lot of depth or soul.
  16. 'Music's Too Sad Without You' is sublime. To me, it's poetic, emotional, and stylish. Their voices work so easily together. The vocals are sincere and understated, with effortless harmonies. And there's a 'lightness of touch' to the production too, which allows it to wash over you.
  17. I voted for Parlophone because they believed in Kylie at a time when very few others did. They proceeded to deliver a string of fabulous albums. Without them, I don't think many of us would still be talking about her today. But I am keen to see what happens with BMG. So far, so promising... for an artist in Kylie's stage of career, that is. I'm very much enjoying the Golden era. And Kylie seems genuinely, very happy these days. That counts for a lot in my eyes.
  18. The production values for the 'Goodbye' video were pretty high though. It felt so sophisticated at the time. Revisiting the 'Wannabe' staircase moment was an inspired move. The styling and make up is on point too. I very much appreciate their dewy, fresh faces after the heavy make up of the Spice World era. And I love every outfit (Mel B's viking hat  ). I found this video heart-achingly beautiful as a bereft, bewildered child. I guess I still do.
  19. Totally get where you're coming from. I also very much admire her talent as a performer. I think it's funny because it's not true. It's a common misconception that she was the cardboard cut out of the band. But you only have to watch a live show to know that's not the case. She often plays up to false media claims, perhaps because it pokes fun at lazy journalism. Either way, she's a legend. She's got nothing to prove.
  20. As a fan, 'The Sea' was game changer for me. I was over the moon when this album arrived. Melanie really committed to a strong sound and I see it as a return to form. My faith was restored. I'm sad for her that it wasn't as successful as it deserved to be. It should've made enough money to finance a big budget follow-up straight away.
  21. Oh yes, I'd love to hear a quality recording of the Anti Tour too! Really wish I'd gone to that show.
  22. 'Ultimate Kylie' gave us two fantastic singles, so it easily gets my vote. But I also love 'Showgirl - Homecoming Live', 'Live in New York' (especially for 'Burning Up/Vogue'), and 'Kiss Me Once Live' (basically another Greatest Hits, but with the banging 'Need You Tonight').
  23. That is hilarious. I love how well she sends herself up. And she still looks phenomenal dressed up as Posh spice. I'm surprised and delighted that she's kept so many of those amazing costumes.
  24. KM94 has 'Confide In Me', which is outstanding. But I'd say 'KM94' was the seed from which 'Impossible Princess' grew. And that was such an important album in Kylie's artistic development.
  25. I think Kyls looks exquisite on the 'Ultimate Kylie' cover. The make up is fabulous. But I can see that the 'I Believe In You' artwork does convey her character.
