  1. I generally preferred the singles artwork from the 'X' campaign. But that might have been more to do with the design than the photography. The combination of yellow and red still makes me feel a bit queasy. I quite like this cover, but don't know where it's from: http://www.breatheheavy.com/wp-content/upl...rsday-Breat.jpg
  2. I'd agree with all of this. I remember being very shocked at Victoria's raunchy lingerie shot in 'Headlines'. I wanted to say, "You go girl!". But I found it unnecessary. It's a song about friendship, not friends with benefits. To me, 'Let Love Lead The Way' is a lazy re-hash of the 'Holler' concept. They could've at least shuffled the elements around a bit more (perhaps Emma as air, and Mel B as earth). The pairing thing is weird. It bugs me.
  3. She's one brave human being. Coping with all of that in front of the world's media must be extremely challenging. Most would be tempted to hide away or give up. But she's still working so hard. I'm sure she'll come out the other side much stronger. That's girl power right there!
  4. I love '2 Become 1', I'd still listen to it loud and proud nowadays. It's so unique as a ballad with dance influences. There must be a name for 90's beat it's got going on. Is it trip-hop? Whatever it is, it's amazing. They're all strong though. 'Goodbye' has dreamy vocals and still feels very sincere and moving. And 'Too Much' is slick and stylish.
  5. It's not at all helpful, but I couldn't vote for any. I think they're all strong for different reasons. It's a very well put-together album, imo. I didn't love 'Stop Me From Falling' as the second single choice. But I like it on the album and I know everyone else loves it, which I respect. I'd have liked 'Dancing', 'Lost Without You', 'Shelby 68' and 'Music's Too Sad Without You' as singles. So I'd want those to survive.
  6. It's a close one for me. I actually really liked a lot of 'Kylie Christmas'. But I wish she'd not duetted with Cordon. :puke2: I voted for 'Kiss Me Once', because I was in dire need of new, original Kylie music when it finally arrived. It had been so long since 'Aphrodite'. It may not be her finest work, but it filled a void. And there are a few tracks I really enjoy - even the 'Sexercise' vid :P 'Kylie Christmas' only gets played in the winter months. But I expect I'll be listening to it every Christmas till I die.
  7. 'White Diamond' is sublime. So it had to have my vote. But 'Magnetic Electric' is awesome too. Why it wasn't on the album, I'll never understand. Ditto for 'Rippin Up The Disco', 'Cherry Bomb', 'I Don't Know What It Is' and 'Ruffle My Feathers'. Anyway, I'm grateful we got to hear them. The 'X' era was quite the treasure trove in the end. It stings a bit, that 'Santa Baby' had more success than 'Every Day's Like Christmas'. But every hit has to be appreciated I suppose.
  8. 'Rhythm of Love' is definitely my favourite PWL album, but 'Light Years' feels more complete as a body of work. I love when Kylie puts her own spin on a sound or concept, and really follows it through with the whole album. I think 'Fever' and 'Golden' do that very successfully too.
  9. 'Limbo' would've been an interesting single. To me, there are definite similarities to Prodigy's 'Firestarter', which was a huge smash a year earlier.
  10. For me, 'The Other Boys' is the one that really deserved it. A high profile collaboration that was musically relevant at the time, and a great video too. But I'd have liked 'Every Days Like Christmas' to have become a Christmas classic. If it was the lead single, maybe it would've got more radio play. I love 'Flower', but it was old news by the time it saw a release. So I can understand why it under-performed.
  11. I dislike self-titled albums too. I understand why her debut was self-titled though. It was important to establish 'Kylie' as herself and not 'Charlene from Neighbours'. KM94 is my biggest bug bear. 'Confide In Me' would've been perfect as the album title. 'Automatic Love' would've been a strong choice too. With cover art depicting Kylie as a futuristic robot hooker, in a dystopian allegory for the state of the world. But that might've caused a horrible backlash. So maybe not. They should've stuck with 'Impossible Princess', even in the circumstances. But 'Limbo' would've worked fine as a quick switch.
  12. I love so much of what came out of the 'X' era. Sure, there are some weak tracks on the album ('Cosmic', 'All I See'). It also feels fairly schizophrenic at times, and the lead single didn't convey the style of the album. But I always love Kylie in an experimental phase. 'X' was a celebration of Kylie's creativity and versatility as a recording artist. And some of the leaked tracks that followed are fantastic. I consider 'White Diamond' part of that era, which is one of my favourite Kylie ballads. And I'm sure she performed 'Flower' on the tour too - another gem. 'Aphrodite', on the other hand, was too predictable for me to love quite as much. It does have the better cover art though

'If You Can't Dance' is a jam. One of their coolest moments and amazing on tour.
  14. For me, it's 'I Begin To Wonder' because it was everywhere when it was released. It reached much further than her usual fanbase and cemented her comeback. And the 'Dead or Alive' remix, 'Begin To Spin Me Round' was fantastic too! Also, the 'Neon Nights' era established a style, and a point of difference to what Kylie was doing. I loved that album.
  15. I've voted for 'Secret (Take You Home)' too. But my favourite does change between that one and 'Promises'. I'd have preferred either to 'Chocolate' as a single, sumptuous and beautiful as it is.
  16. 'Can't Get You Out of My Head'. It has to be! But 'In Your Eyes' was a lovely surprise, and prompted me to buy the album.
  17. Yes IBIY and TOB! So much love for those. But let's not forget 'White Diamond'. It's stunning.
  18. Interesting that the press release doesn't mention 'Golden' the single. Makes me wonder, was it just a buzz single like 'Sexercise'? Not that I really know what that means.
  19. I voted for 'Love Affair' because I would've liked it as a single. But it's a very close run thing. I also love 'Burning Up', 'Your Love' and 'More More More'. To me, 'Fever' has the most consistent quality of album tracks out of all her back catalogue. There are no skippers here.
  20. In danger of disappearing down a Girl Thing rabbit hole, but... I remember seeing the band doing TV promo. I really wanted to like them, in the absence of my beloved Spice Girls. But they actively denounced their predecessors, alienating their entire potential fan base. They didn't come across as nice girls, imo. Which was a shame because the second single was great!
  21. I voted for 'Look At Me' but, had it been listed, 'When You're Gone' would've won my vote by miles.
  22. Hmmm. I actually quite like all those four. But I did used to find a lot of the album too cheesy. Nowadays, I fully embrace that aspect. The ones I always skip are 'Bittersweet Goodbye' and 'Butterfly'.
  23. For me, it has to be 'Your Disco Needs You'. Although, that was a single in Australia, wasn't it? It's a great big glitter ball of campery and, in my eyes, beats all the other 'Light Years' singles except maybe 'Spinning Around'.
  24. It's a gorgeous song and MUST be a single. As I doubt she'll release a fifth, I'd like this to be the next one.
  25. I have a soft spot for 'Love and Kisses', as I remember when it was released. It's a catchy little number, but definitely of its time. 'Jump to the Beat' was an inspired cover though. It really suits Dannii's voice and the orchestration is noticeably different from the original, so it's a worthwhile interpretation. The updated urban sound still sounds good to me.
