I agree those two tracks were much more in tune with the original feel off the direction she was going in with the album. I recall her saying in the documentary that they were choreographing her for 100% PL to be the single but she felt like they were putting her in the sausage machine. I think she thought they wanted her to be a covers artist after the huge success of Its Raining Men. Given Geri's strong writing talent I can understand why that would annoy her.

That was the last really exciting time for solo spice. I mean Emma and Geri spent a month at number 1 combined around the same time. :music: :heart: :wub: Two really memorable tracks aswell that have stood the test of time.

Viva Forever and Spice Up Your Life will always reign supreme for me as their two best singles (one upbeat and one a ballad) :wub:

I never saw it in the cinema but do remember getting the video with the lime green cassette. ^_^

It took many years of being her last album for Passion to really grow on me, I now quite enjoy it even if it does feel very disjointed. My instant faves from the start were the singles, Love Never Loved Me, Feel the Fear and Let Me Love You More. The Ian Masterson tracks are the strength of "Passion". Superstar, Surrender Your Groove and Dont Get Any Better were the three weakest links of the record for me then and still are now. Not that I dislike any of them just meh. Would've been interesting to see how the original 2004 album would've been like /been received before she returned to the studio with Korpi and Blackcell.

Yes when it listen to it the basic production just cant be overlooked. Love her vocals and many of the lyrics/melodies though. Its the same with Beautiful Intentions by Mel C. Great record but the production let's much of it down. I just want to give it to the producers of Kelly Clarkson or Pink for a revamp.

So rude to talk about their upbringing and education like she knows them personally and Carol Smilie with a big grin on her face...

I'm really enjoying the videos and how she weaves the music into them. Some are quirky, some thought provoking and some experimental/outside the box. Its clearly just a passion project for her overall. No her subs and views aren't amazing but they are slowly and steadily rising and she has a dedicated group of fans who seem to enjoy whats coming next.

Who Do You Think You Are is just so iconic though I mean that instrumental is pop music at its very best and it evokes images of the once again iconic Brits performance. Mel does have her great shining moment with those end ad libs though so.. :heart-old:

The comparisons to Geri are interesting as Geri's exit was certainly mental health related aswell however back in 98 mental health wasn't the open thing it is today. Sometimes it just gets "too much" and you need to have time out.

I'm proud of Jesy for doing what she needed to do. I'm surprised they are continuing though as it does feel like the group has reached its natural end at this point anyway. Six studio albums is a good run.

It was filmed right at the time they sacked Simon which was the start of November and shown at the end of November so was very close to Christmas. Andi Peters who produced it twas afraid they were going to pull out of filming it as everything in relation to Simon was removed and they had to organise everything themselves which must've been chaos behind the scenes. I love the 1996 TOTP special they co hosted with Robbie Williams, they were so fresh and full of energy then. :heart: :yahoo: :w00t: :wub:
