Manics: Radiohead are ruining music scene
Ironic that a band that started out as "Generation Terrorists" are now in favour of propping up multinational corporations like Universal and SonyBMG. How times change!

Bit uninspired this week, so I've taken the idea I used for last week's Remi Nicole single cover and used it on the LP! Think of it as a corporate identity carried across multiple releases like the record companies do. Or a bit of a cheat! ^_^ http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa240/45cat/RemiNicoleLP.jpg

School nativity plays under threat
Thanks for posting this. It's a great antidote to the rabble rousing cr@p printed in the media. For every PC nutter story printed in the ranting press there are plenty of other people going about their daily lives without offending each other.

I use Adobe Photoshop CS2, with occasional bits done in Adobe Illustrator CS2 (like the words "rock 'n' roll" on the Remi Nicole cover). I've even just used pen and paper and scanned it in a few times. Basically it doesn't matter what you use so long as you've got a strong concept to begin with. Every week I see covers on Buzzjack that are far better than the ones used by the record companies!

Cheers for the votes everybody and congrats to russt and Jark for two great covers. As there aren't many new releases around Christmas, and this competition started late in the year why don't we do covers for all the ones we missed earlier in the year? Perhaps Jark could pick out 20, say, and we could design one of them. Just a thought.

Midnight Oil vs INXS
I like Nick Cave but don't care much for the other artists you list. What about Radio Birdman, The Saints, The Hoodoo Gurus, The Lime Spiders, The Church, Bailter Space, etc etc etc! Like all of them more than INXS or Midnight Oil.

wikipedia, fastest selling albums
In fact I've just checked the page for Oasis' "(What's the story) morning glory" on wikipedia where it is claimed that it sold 347,000 in it's first week. So there you go. ;)

wikipedia, fastest selling albums
What puzzles me about this list as that everything is so recent. Are you really saying that something like "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" didn't sell very many the week it was released? Or are you saying that you don't know the figures. In which case wikipedia's list is somewhat inaccurate - so no change there then!
