Once, when it was a great music paper that covered many areas of music, I would have cared. Now it's a kids indie comic with all the depth of Heat or Hello I couldn't care less. Good ridance!

I like 'Snake in the grass' for the simple reason that it was the first song I ever saw played 'live'. It was a school trip to be in the audience of the Basil Brush show! It may not have been live, of course! They were probably miming but, when you're ten, who cares?

Amazingly my memory is almost exactly the same as yours! I was living in Ladbroke Grove, near Notting Hill, and had been to the pub, got back as the wind was picking up. Mind you it didn't keep me awake - I slept right through it! Managed to get to work eventually only to find very few people had made it. My immediate boss toook the 3 of us who had to lunch. So that was my storm - slept right through it and got a free lunch!

Typical Daily Mail non-story. Someone from any political party says "what if?" and next thing it's a scare story in The Daily Misery. Ho hum.

Bit difficult to have a firework display without others knowing about it! Unlike drugs which can be done privately. And I hardly think the market for 'black market' fireworks would be big enough for criminals to be involved. If you ban 'em they will go away!
