My Love is again #6 in the midweeks :)

My Love: The Essential
I think that's a GREAT position because the add is the only promotion this is getting! And the My Love performance on Oprah should give it healthy sales in the US as well :) Besides, it's a GH which makes it all the more amazing. Celine is still a strong contender on the album charts :dance:

On a positive note, My Love is not doing too badly on US AC radio. 3 new stations added it yesterday. It's #18 on the daily AC chart and might rise to #17 pretty soon.

It's pretty weird how this has gotten a single release while ''Taking Chances,'' which debuted at #40 on downloads alone, didn't :huh: I'm wondering for how long Sony BMG are going to keep releasing singles...if they all flop they are not making any money out of it.

LiveToLove Inc.
LMAO I can imagine that :heehee: I loved the moment when the female knocked on the door for the second time...that was when it became really scary for me :ph34r:

This and Voices are my favourite songs of Hard Candy :wub: It's odd how there's not going to be a video because the project was still on a roll - in Europe at least. I do think that a video of the live performance would have been c**p because I don't really like the way she performs it but surely they could have come up with something else that doesn't take much time to make :unsure:

E=MC² Adventure Box [Album Thread]
It's an interesting release because the tour was part of the Mimi era :huh: I really want that MC logo key ring but I'm not going to buy the whole box just for that :mellow:

Mariah - The Ballads [Oct 20th]
Just another stupid move by Sony BMG. They have been handling Celine's career in a horrible way as well.

BBC Radio 1 chartblog: Celine Dion - 'My Love' * Fraser McAlpine * 14 Oct 08, 10:32 AM Celine DionThere are some artists for which the whole process of a review seems a little bit unnecessary. Cliff Richard, for example: he's been in this business a long time, and it's unlikely that there's anyone out there who hasn't made their mind up about him one way or the other by now. The same applies to Celine Dion - we all know what we're likely to get from her, and it's something most of us have a pre-determined opinion on, to the extent where individual singles make absolutely no difference. (Caveat: My friend insists that she once rapped on a song, but I'm not sure if I believe him.) 'My Love' is unlikely to change anyone's mind, Celine-wise. It's a heartfelt, perhaps slightly overwrought ballad*, which begins with a long section where Celine sings acapella before the piano kicks in - and indeed why shouldn't she, because she's got the chops for it. I'll lay my cards on the table here: it's not really my sort of thing, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate it on its own merits when it's being done well. And it is here, pretty much. There's some rather peculiar pronunciation going on ("malluuhhhrve") but that's all part of her charm, I suppose, and I think it's safe to say that people who've enjoyed her previous work will find plenty to enjoy here. I daresay there'll be many of you who didn't even make it this far because you already knew how you felt about this song, whether it be "yay!" or "nay sad.gif" before you even got to the cut-link, but those of you who came in here in the hope I might reveal that this was the beginning of Celine's experimental and exciting new grunge-rock direction - sorry, no dice. Considering everything I've written above I'm grading this not in terms of how it appeals to me personally, but in terms of how it fits in the general canon of Celine, which I think is the fairest way to do this. So: Four stars :cheer: Download: Out now CD Released: October 13th www.celinedion.com (Steve Perkins) * Part of the reason this isn't as startlingly irritating a Celine Dion song as some is that it is relatively subtle. I mean she can sound like Meat Loaf being hit by lightning, so she deserves some credit for this, even if it is still massively theatrical compared to, say, Laura Marling. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chartblog/2008/...n_my_love.shtml

My Love has been on BBC Radio 2's B-list for three weeks now. That should definitely help My Love in the UK charts. Wonder where it'll debut... http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/r2music/playlist/ It's out on Monday

What do you like most about Celine?
Her voice, definitely :heart: Even her worst songs are listenable just because of her voice :lol: I love the high notes but mostly the emotion she puts into her songs, for example A New Day Has Come :wub:

Char Alert: • Celine Dion breaks a three-way tie for the most hits this decade on the Adult Contemporary chart, as "My Love" debuts at No. 25, becoming her 16th entry of the 2000s. Dion also held the record for the most chart entries in the 1990s, so "Love" thus extends her lead for most charted titles in the last two decades. Since her arrival in 1991, she's made 39 appearances. Dion's career totals include 21 top 10s and 11 No. 1s, also both tops among all artists on the Adult Contemporary chart since the beginning of the '90s.
