  1. You can still singe your hair..lol Right lost the plot again Mikey, the physical sales is the 4th September, so this weeks downloads get added to that weeks hard copies..right or not right??
  2. I think I have got this now, they add the weeks previous downloads to the physical sales on the w/c 4th September..Is that right? So they do count the downloads that have been available for weeks in advance, I thought that they would have to. So not so good for Robbie then, because JT and the SS have had their tracks being downloaded for weeks now. :o
  3. Have a great time Jupiter, I will be thinking of you this weekend. Fingers crossed the weather improves :)
  4. Thanks he sounds so much like his father in that interview, gotta love his cheek and humour though.
  5. Well done Scotty, all the best with it, but please don;t forget your roots. :D
  6. Scotty and Jupiter I am having technical problems with my pc and I am using a friends, so I am timed out now. I put this up on therobbiewilliamssite there are a couple of others too so I chose the more interesting article (for me anyway) to put here. Thats what happened to me yesterday too. :D SEE ROB IN ALL HIS GLORY http://usera.imagecave.com/jackie1/hot.jpg Robbie William's Close Encounters tour has already wowed most of Europe and is about to arrive in the UK. His Leeds performance on Sept 9 will be the first gig to be broadcast live in HD. High Definition or HD TV launced here just before the World Cup and the 1.5 million Sky customer with access to it ooh-ed and ah-ed about the increased contrast, the depth of field and the vibrant colours. A footie match is one thing, a pop concert another. For a start, we don't demand that our sportsmen look sexy while doing their jobs. Its brave of Robbie to be the first to go live on HD as it's renowed for showing up every detail including wrinkes, blemishes and every bead of sweat. One wonders if Madonna, for example, would open herself up to quite so much scrutiny. HD converts are prone to talking about how much closer it is to actually being there. Watching sport, it becomes immediately apparent that the crowd is no longer a blur but a huge collection of indiviual faces. For Robbie's Leeds gig, anyone watching with friends in the crowd might be able to pick them out, while a special "Robbie Cam" will allow viewer to share the star's view at the touch of a button. Robbie will be giving a practised performance from Roundhay Park. The Close Encounters tour is his biggest to date and the European leg alone comprises of 44 performances in 14 different countries. Keeping it all running smoothly is an enormous operation, with 215 people working full time. I takes 24hrs to put the stage together: each of two stel structures that "leapfrog" each other to alternate locations needs 14 or 15 lorries to transport it, yet the stage and its elaborate network of catering tnts, dressing room and offices is usually packed up and ready to go by 4am after a concert. They have to be prepared for any eventuality. Wob Roberts, who has been Robbie's production manager for his entire solo career, says that since the concerts are outside, bad weather is a constant threat. The stage has an industrial non-slip floor so, even if it rains Robbie, the band and his dancers can move freely without fear of slipping. The specially-designed stage includes three big video screens as well as hundreds of little ones, a catwalk into the crowd and plenty of pyrotechnics. Wob says: "We make it look as good as possible and then waterproof everything we have to. The lighting and video control equipment can't get wet but little things like musicians are fairly waterproof anyway!". Behind the stage is a hive of activity and six generators power the spectacle. According to Wob: "These would more or less power Letchworth". Its a tiring business being on the road. Because of the scale of the operation its not economical to stop for a break, so the juggernauts rumble on relentlessly. It's imporant that everyone keeps as healthy and happy as possible so everything runs smoothly. There are two people whose job it is just to look after dressing rooms. Robbie apparently favours warm colours like brown and red with plenty of candles, so that we can relax before a show. Wob says it's unusual for things to go quite as smoothly as they have so far. "It's un-newsworthy but we're having a nice tour" he says. "Although, in the world of rock 'n' roll, that is newsworthy". Team spirit is important and Robbie insists on a "huddle" before each performance, although Wob explains that it now has to take place backstage for reasons of space. "We used to have it on the stage but a huddle is communal and anyon who's around gets involved. It got silly when we had 30 people in the huddle for a six piece band". Although the huge stage and the bustling, temporary village that springs up around is a far cry from most people's idea of the average working environment, Wob insists there are similarities. "like any office, we like to have a joke and wind each other up" he says. Robbie On The Road: We Are Not Alone, will be shown on Sky One on September 9 at 8pm followed by the Leeds concert at 9pm on Sky One and Sky One HD I hope there are not too many typo's http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y279/tc73/Smilies/icon_thumbs_up.gif and the picture at the top is the one used for the article, but bigger LOVELY!!!
  7. Nicky it is a free mag for Sky subcribers, so unfortunately you cannot buy it, it details Sky TV listings and it comes out once a month. Of course September they have Robbie and so do we. :cheer:
  8. Thank you Goth, lovely to "see you" and thanks for everything.
  9. I didn't know where to put this as its not really a "News" item, more a feature. I hope you enjoy reading it. I originally posted it up on therobbiewilliamssite. Robbie is on the front page of the Sky Magazine for September with the heading "Let Him Entertain You" Robbie's UK Tour Live on Sky 1 Angels Always Gets the Best Reaction. As he gets ready to perform in concert exclusively live and in HD on Sky One this month, Robbie Williams reveals he preys to Elvis, what he thinks about aliens and who his favourite TV pin ups are. Cheeky chappie Robbie Williams has succeeded in becoming a global phenomenon since he left boy band Take That back in 1995. The 32yr old from Stoke on Trent has racked up an impressive run of memorable singles and worldwide sales of his albums currently standing at over 40 million. But success hasn't always come easily to Robbie. A highly public battle with drug and alcohol addictions left his solo career floundering at the outset, with few people in the music industry thinking he'd get anywhere, let alone to the top. Ten years on, its a very different story. In 2005 his song Angels was voted best song of the last 25yrs by Radio 2 listeners. He's also entered the Guinness World Records by selling over 1.6 million tickets in a single day for his current world tour. He smashed the previous record of one million tickets, set by NSYNC in 2000. So what makes Robbie so extraordinary? Its not just his musical success - 7 best-selling albums (new single Rudebox is out on 4 September) - or the fact that he's sexy, cool and yet still feels like your best mate. What makes him such a star is his on-stage charisma. He is arguably the only solo male artist in the world who can work a crowd of 100,000 into a chanting, frenzied mass. His performance was considered by many to be the highlight of the Live 8 concert in the summer of 2005. He got the entire crowd in London's Hyde Park chanting "We Will Rock You", just like Freddie Mercury did at Live Aid 20 yrs previously. The audience was in the palm of Robbie's hand and the atmosphere was electric. This month you can see hime work his magic again, exclusively live on Sky One when he performs at Roundhay Park Leeds as part of his 5month world tour. Its the first ever pop concert in the UK to be broadcast in HD. Ahead of the big gig, we got a change to put a few questions to the busiest man in pop. ON PERFORMING You were the big hit of Live 8. Is there more pressure when you're performing live on TV and how do you deal with your nerves? RW - Camera's don't bother me. I just feel pressure performing in my home country, because I simply expect more of myself. Are you superstitious - do you have any pre-performance rituals? RW - Not particularly, no. But I always pray to Elvis and always have chicken, beans and rice, so perhaps I am superstitious! What do you arrange to have in your dressing room? RW - Water, espresso machine, Gatorade, fruit and Vocalzone (throat pastilles). Which track gets the best reaction from the crowd, and which is your current favourite to perform live? RW - Angels always gets the best reaction. I'm enjoying Come Undone just now. Do you choose your own stage oufits? RW - Yes, I do. The three-quarter-length coat is rocking at the moment. It makes me feel statesman-like. ON MUSIC Who's your musical hero? RW - I haven't got one. There are so many people I like for different reasons. What do you think of current bands? RW - There is nothing current that I really enjoy, but Elbow are very good. How would you describe your music right now? RW - Aaaacciidd! ON TATTOOS.... Will you have more done? RW - I never really know until the day I choose to have one. But they're getting more painful as I get older. Do you worry about getting old and having tatts on wrinkly skin? RW - I do worry about getting old, but only because I like playing football. ON LOOKS Your style: Messy or tidy? RW - Messy Do you like training or is it a drag? RW - Training is boring. To be honest, I just play football Do you take vitamin supplements? RW - I did for a while to stop me getting the flu ...then I got the flu! ON TV Whats your appointment TV? RW - Sky Sports News Whats your favourite soap? RW - Dove! Is there a programme you have on series link on Sky? RW - The Sopranos Will you be watching this year's The Match? RW - Yeah, I hope so. Who are your TV Pin-Up's RW - Ant and Dec, because Ant looks fetching in a suit. ON ROBBIE RUMOURS.. You smoke 60 cigarettes a day. RW - False its 61 You Believe in Aliens RW - I believe there is a possibility they exist You love Scrabble RW - I do. I haven't played for ages. I average two or three seven letter words a game. ON HOME Where is It? RW - Home will always be Stoke on Trent, but I live in LA What gets you back to Stoke RW - My charity Give It Sum Best and Worst things about living in LA RW - Best: The sun. Worst: There are none and living in the UK RW - Best: Full of Brits - Worst: You can't get a 3pm football game on TV like you can in LA
  10. Now he has completed mainland Europe I am going to miss those translation reports..they were always good for a giggle. He's heading home now, so no translator needed..(I don't think) :cheer:
  11. They are lovely tickets, I keep looking at mine.
  12. Ah Twinkle as you love Jackie's translations here is another. :yahoo: He is getting good press reviews in Switzerland..I am so pleased. 13. Tripping, car windows down, volume up. :yahoo:
  14. Oh how lovely, thank you Scotty for doing that and big hugs to everyone for your good wishes. :D We did have a lovely day, it didn't rain, we did a bit of retail therapy, and were ladies who lunched as well. We also had an unexpected treat, when I bumped into the crew of the local marine patrol boat, I know them very well, and they took us for a speedy trip around the Bay. It was great fun, the nearest I have got to a Banana Boat ride and I didn't even get wet. Brilliant. :yahoo:
  15. Happy updating Jupiter :) He's on his way back to base. US next
  16. Just shows you how Robbie's "D**khead antenna" wasn't working. I think he made that comment from about this time when he first moved to LA and realised after a while just how fake some people are, I wonder if it included Ashley Hamilton.
  17. Nada I don;t think there will be a double single out of APTC/Ghosts. :)
  18. Why do I get the feeling the The Sun exclusive could be extracts from a forthcoming book. -_- Tomorrows instalment is Robbie's take on Louis Walsh, Pete and Kate and Justin and Lily. I hope he takes a swipe at Louis Walsh, but he won;t and he'll be very supportive of Pete and Kate, and very supportive of Justin and Lily.
  19. Love your description Jupiter of us IS mugs..lol..so true though. I had to ring up rw.com because I have a friend coming from the USA and he told me that International tickets will be going out as a priority, but other arrangements could be made if my friend had left the States before they arrived. (Pick them up at the venue). I didn;t want to do that, so after a few checks, they are mailing them to me. :D
  20. Well she isn't winning me over either. :puke2: She has a big mouth and a head to match, okay I know Robbie has a mouth and an ego to match too, but somehow he comes over a bit more endearing than she does..its such a fine line isn't it, how one can get away with it so much better than another. I just cannot imagine her saying anything tongue in cheek or for a laugh either.
