The Close Encounters Tour 2006
Robbie, as you know Scotty always puts alot of energy into his performances, I suspect being unwell probably caused the fatigue to set in early, I know he shouldn't smoke, or smoke as much as he does, but I don't think smoking would be the cause really. And sometimes Robbie says these things for affect. :D I also laughed at the attendance figs in that press article. underestimated by half. <_<

The Close Encounters Tour 2006
FLU HIT ROBBIE BATTLES ON Sick star triumphs as tour kicks offhttp://usera.imagecave.com/robstwo/cropped.jpg Brave Robbie Williams battled a brutal dose of flu to open his world tour in typical flamboyant fashion. He was laid low with a vicious strain of the bug after spending the past fortnight in South Africa preparing for his big night. But the consummate entertainer was determined not to disappoint the 20,000 packed into Green Point Stadium and ignored all pleas to pull out of the show. I'm told: " it was touch and go whether Robbie was going to be well enough to play in front of all those people. "His show is a two-hour marathon and you've really got to be in good shape to get through it. "He didn't want to let anyone down and much against many people's advice he ploughed on. Thankfully he pulled off a blinder". Robbie kicked off the barnstorming set with fizzing versions of Radio and Rock DJ. Then he dived into another 18 career spanning tracks. It wasn't all plain sailing though. It appears the years of partying are catching up. Halfway through, a puffed out Robbie said: " I don't know how Mick Jagger does this, I am 32 and I'm knackered. He's like 110 or something." The audience were treated to the Robster's trademark between-song banter - a Chris Martin impression proving particularly popular. But it was the encore of Angels that proved the biggest hit of the evening. Those summer shows over here are looking more and more enticing aren't they? Thanks to Therobbiewilliamssite

April 2006 News
Thanks jupiter I have posted up the Daily Star article about Robbie's Flu bug at the SA show in the Tour, but I have to agree the attendance figs are wrong, bless the journo's cotton socks..I mean how can you PACK 20,000 into a stadium..I am not sure which show they reported on, Cape Town or Durban. .. :D either way double the 20,000 and they would be nearer.

South African Radio Station
I think it is wonderful and inspirational idea to start with Radio. He is bored with singing LMEY right at the beginning, so he moved it to a place where it would be more of fantastic ending. Long as he sings the songs the fans want to hear, especially those who have never seen him in concert before, I don't mind where he puts the songs, as long as he sings them. I think Robbie has been Robbie. Surprised us all. Keep Radio in Rob for your European dates please. A big fan of your new songs. :cheer:

April 2006 News
I think not many people are keen on MK, I know I am not. :( How far is MK from London, does anyone know. Its miles from where I live and not easy to get too. Maybe going from London would be quicker and easier. I'd much rather it was a stadium anywhere than another field. <_<

Intensive Care's Sales
I love Random Acts of Kindness, it's a very credible song, it reminds me alot of his early days, I don't know why, probably because a bit of bitterness threads its way through the lyrics, which are very strong. :)

Intensive Care's Sales
well, I wish they would get the fact right. Intensive Care went to No.1 in 19 countries and then 20 with Intensive Care going into the No.1 spot in Portugal after it entered the charts at No.2. So Intensive Care went to No.1 in 20 countries. It also featured in the top top 5 and top 10 slots in many other countries too. This report makes it sound like he had success in only 19 countries. Which is not true. One day they will get it right. He had No.1's in 20 countries. Are you reading this Mr Reporter. LOL
