Thanks for that post weedle..I dug out the Times article and your post states pretty much what was written after the sales stats and concert revenue figs. Of course its about popularity but its mostly about "star" quality, character, personality and charisma..they even quoted you LOL regarding James Blunt and a few others who have sold huge amounts but you wouldn't recognise them on a crowded bus. Thats the essence of the Superstar, and of course Michael Jackson is listed along with all the big names past, like Freddy, George Michael, etc..but as mentioned before in that context Madonna and Robbie are the last of the line of modern day superstars that fill the criteria according to that feature.

Me neither, I am not even showing up that its been sent yet. Got my 80;s tee shirt though..love it, bright yellow and fun.

Gary may on a few listens have a deeper tone to his voice, but he can't match Robbie on "feel" and actual delivery of a lyric or a melody line. Robbie puts much more emotion into his delivery than pretty much anyone else out there today. Of course you will say I am wrong because I am a Robbie fan and your preference is Gary. But Robbie is a far better singer that people realise or give due too, as a performer Robbie is far superior in every way imaginable. Although you are being fair on the Robbie wouldn;t have been a star without TT and visa versa, please do not trivialise 10yrs of huge solo success that Robbie has achieved, that had to be gained and maintained no matter what launch pad he jumped from. Of course TT are doing great in the UK, and brill it is too but please do not judge facts in just what the UK is doing, because that would be wrong. Put globally, Robbie is far bigger.

Did this article come from the Mirror? That is so strange, because I read this feature "Where Have All The Superstars Gone" a couple of months ago in The Times, I still have the double page spread. This is not only a pinch of the same article its also been changed to reflect this journalist personal views. Okay that could be said about the original article but it didn't come across as a personal reflection of preferance, because that original article was based on statistics. No matter, but if it is of any interest that feature highlights Robbie as the only UK act today as a confirmed superstar alongside Madonna with each of those acts being probably the last of their kind. Superstars.

I know with all these news headlines about Take That and Robbie lead people to believe he is re-joining his old band, but there was never any doubt in my mind that it would only ever be as a one off appearance. There is no way that I would ever think that he would go back to the group on a permanent basis I think its safe to say that Robbie will remain a solo act.

How funny is that Dory maybe you could photoshop the TEAM ROBSTER on the photo for me so I know if its worth the trouble having it done. lol. I would like it along the very top of the front of the windscreen either side of the small RW logo. TEAM (RW) ROBSTER. Do you think it would look ace..lol... :cheer: Jupiter I have a very nice little car in a very pretty shade of Robbie Blue, its a KA so that is why we laugh when I say it could be a rally car. I do have a Robbie inspired personalised number plate on it, my sons bought it for me when I took delivery of the car, and two small RW logo stickers on the front and rear windscreens. I guess its the number plate that caught Dory's attention, and inspired a photographic moment for prosperity As Dory has said its all very subtle and all done in the best possible taste LOL. but adding the TEAM ROBSTER may spoil that and be a step too far, even for me. So if Dory can do a sampler I would love to see it, hint hint Dory. Laughter and enjoyment is so important to me and if my little car makes people laugh or smile then thats fine by me, I get huge enjoyment out of being a bit out of the ordinary too. :cheer: Oh yes I re-joined IS too.

Sorry if this has already been posted elsewhere, or is in the wrong thread. In the NOTW today - Rav's page it's reported that Robbie Williams has had the mother of all bust ups with his mum Jan. Rob called her after she claimed he was rejoining Take That. A pal said "Nothing's confirmed. He just could not believe his mum did it. Whoops.

Geraldine I could have sworn you were a Robbie fan too. I am so shocked to know that perhaps Robbie comes second in your estimation. But at least you admit that Robbie could steal the limelight (again) but I would defo find a writing collabration interesting for sure. Gary is a good songwriter and Robbie is a great lyricist, and I would love to hear what they could produce together.

I did find one of those articles enlighting, not sure which one it was now. It states intrestingly that Robbie being on TT second follow up album after Beautiful World will help it to be as successful as the first. I think it relates to Jason Oranges remarks as to why he thinks Robbie will do an album with them. Maybe wrong though, which I hope I am. We all know that the second album after a huge selling first album can be telling and this will be Take Thats second album in reality. As the article said, this would be a PR and Marketing Man's dream, the money making dream.

I think the answer to that old chestnut about TT and Robbie is the wording Robbie will join TT on stage. Which I see as a one off and possibly a charity gig or special event.

Brilliant Jupiter, we ARE TEAM ROBSTER. I think its great and a banner with that in would be brill too. I have a mate of mine making me a see through sticker with TEAM ROBSTER printed on it that will go across the whole windscreen of my car. Most folk seeing it will think I am a rally driver or something, although I guess with the car I've got that illusion won't last for long.

Well Gary must know that Mark defends Robbie's corner on occasions, and I would think they must talk to each other about it. I do find it strange though.

Just having a bit of a laugh, it was in relation to the interview that Gary Barlow gave to the Sunday Times where he questioned Robbie's timing on entering Rehab, and a journalist from Closer magazine wrote back in defence and said he/she was on Team Robsters side. Just like me. So I stuck that reference in my signature. :yahoo:

I have re-joined tonight, thank goodness I didn't have any problems, I even ordered a tee shirt from the Rudebox range. The yellow one with 3 colour tapes with the 80's RW and R logos. I hope you all get sorted out soon, I hate things going wrong on computers, its flippin frustrating.

It always amazes me how quickly the lovely Mark defends "rumours" that have been said about Robbie. I know how the press are etc..don't we all, but its nearly everytime there is a negative comment there is an instant retraction. I wonder how relations are going between GB and Markie at the moment in the dressing room. Go on Mark I am on your side, go give GB some lip. I liked the wording of Team Robster, so I nicked it and have updated my signature with it. United we stand and devided we fall. So a Team we should be. lol
