  1. Duffy. (I'm an American but still even her stuff pre-Rockferry is awesome. Natasha/Amy wouldn't be too far from Duffy though.
  2. rofl, first of all I realize that there is more than one pop sound. I never said she was a "rocker" I said some of her music had rock/pop influence. I said her earlier albums had more of a rock driven sound with a mix of pop. I can quote that if you want btw. I never said she was regarded as a rock artists lol, she was considered bubblegum pop. I'm 22, but I am familiar with her albums from then, seeing how I have them on vinyl. I still think she was less "pop" for those years, but its a PERSONAL opinion.. I never stated it as a truth :]
  3. um... they are not even similiar? (curtis vs. tears for fears) but I chose Tears for Fears "Advice for The Young At Heart" is one of my favorite songs of all time, I do like Curtis too though. I chose the Blow Monkeys for the other one.
  4. meh, I respectfully disagree. There are very obvious rock elements to her albums from 81-85, I would never say she was the Girls Aloud type of sound from back then. Have you even heard the "Teases and Dares" album? Granted there is heavy synths on the album, the guitar dominance is quite obvious too. That isn't really a straight "pop" album imho. I hate when people don't acknowledge that rock is multi-faceted and not just one straight genre.

    Simon Cowell is that you?
  6. I picked "Just An Illusion" the piano parts alone own. I love it. I'm surprised people haven't sampled this song.. its very good.
  7. I love the song, its catchy. The video is cheesy but entirely effective.
  8. Eh I don't think Kim Wilde was a pop artists until her 86' album "Another Step" her albums previous to that were very more rock driven with a mix of a little pop... but "Another Step" imho is pure pop. I mean "You Keep Me Hanging On" is very pop.. same with "Say You Really Want Me" and her other albums after that are extremely pop. Personally my favorite Kim Album is "Teases and Dares" but my favorite song is "Say You Really Want Me".
  9. in no specific order... -Soul Decision (minus them, they are always first) -N'sync -Backstreet Boys -Five (5ive) (they were semi-mainstream here in the states so I counted them) -O'Town

I like some of her remixes... but that's about it. Her songs are catchy though.
  11. it's about time, I hope she goes the Shania route... she'd totally work it.

The Sugababes are so chic and very talented, Girls Aloud are a bit skanky but since "Can't Speak French" is played on my Ipod a lot.. I actually have to say Girls Aloud (which even surprises myself)
  13. I really like this song a lot, a lot. People says she sounds like J.lo and I am not seeing that at all. She still sounds like herself.. electro-fied. I'm seriously in love with this song.
  14. 'About Us" was a horrible choice for a single imo, and I also agree that a second single at the very least should of been put out. "For A Moment" is easily the best Brooke Hogan song.. its really the only reason I bought the album in the first place.

love this song to pieces, came out when I was two.. but still I heart it.
  16. I'm glad she didnt fall off the face of the earth, back then I loved her music. So this is very good to hear.
  17. I only liked "Love Story" and a few of her idol performances. Oh and "Me" the cover she did of Paula Cole.. other than that I wasn't like "wowed" by her album in any, way, shape or form. I wasn't a huge fan of her on idol, but they could of made a better album for her, I am not surprised she got dropped/left/whatever the supposed case is.

    Echo Beach is amazing.
  19. lol I love Kajagoogoo.. but that really does take the cake for a name of a group

I'm so glad that you know what you're talking about anxresi! You really nailed that Leona prediction (cough) anyways, I wondered what ever happened to her, "Gotta Tell You" was such a good song... they used to play that song all the time when it came out. I would purchase anything new that she would put out. Also imho she's got a great pop/soul voice imo.. it's different in a good way.
  21. Hit That Perfect Beat. No question about it (well at least for me)

Even though Timbo totally stole the music for "Do It" by N. Furtado, I'll still say him.. I do like P.diddy for Danity Kane though, he didn't produce them though.. so that really wouldn't count anyways.
  23. Some of the songs are way redundant, but "What'cha Got 2 Lose" is easily my favorite track. It's a busy song with a lot going on, but its busy in a good way.. that and "She's Makin Me Lose It" remind me of prince songs the most which is always good imo.

I'd rather have an "Autobiography 2.0" again because that really is such a well put together album and really one of the best pop albums period. It's one of very few albums I can listen to from start to finish and not go "gag me". I do like the new single, but it's not up to par with like.. "la la" or "pieces of me" or even "l.o.v.e". I almost laughed when I found out Timbo was part of her new single, reminds me of an undiscovered Blondie song. I like Blondie though, so maybe that's why I like this new track.. oh well. I'll probably still buy her new album when it comes out as it is.
