  3. Chipmunk is marketed all wrong. Check out some of his freestyling, he does have talent. Yet he's given all of this silly 'party-musik' to play with.

    Bea is rather lovely.
  5. Adebayor, Tevez, Santa Cruz, Robinho, Bellamy, Benjani, Caicedo, Bojinov and to a lesser extent SWP/Elano all currently on the books for City then. Apart from him aiming to weaken his main rivals with these signings I can't see next season being anything more than an ego crushing exercise. Benjani, Caicedo, Boj and Elano won't really be expecting first team football (or even to be at the club come the end of the window) but the rest will all be assuming first team starts I'd imagine. Silly silly silly.

  9. I don't see what issue you would have with Fraizer tbh. It may have only been the Championship but he scored 15 in 34 when he was last with Hull, and everytime I saw him play (which granted was only 2 or 3 times..) he looked well above the level he was playing at. £6m may be a bit steep but what's already been said is spot on, he'd be a much better signing than Zamora or Daryl fucking Murphy. He was hardly given a kick of a ball at Spurs in fairness too. From a United fans perspective, £3.5m (with the possibility of rising to £6m) for a back-up striker who'd never reach the first team in million years is a deal and a half for us. But for any team who could rotate him round a bit, I don't think it's particularly a bad buy..
  10. Thx Sunderland.

  13. THIS IS INSANE I'm so onto this right now it's unrealllll <3
  14. Very good signing. Paying nothing on a proven goalscorer, double figures for goals last season in a year plagued with injury and in a piss-poor footballing outfit.. I think it's worth the 'gamble'. Tbh I think the rumours that Mascherano is going to Barca for £17m when they've just splashed out £17.5m on Glen Johnson is a bit more LOL (if we're discounting the Peter Crouch cash then that means Portsmouth payed a grand total of £4m for him which is an equally ridiculous piece of business).

    YES OKAY THIS IS FUNNY
  16. Manchester United have signed Wigan Athletic winger Antonio Valencia on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
  17. EY MIKAL I went to a uni open day in Liverpool today and it was so much n-n-nicer than that hole that you're going to. Hru? x
  18. In fairness even if Liverpool did make advances for him, they'd probably be about 2 months late anyway leading him to being snapped up by someone else..
  19. So Tevez ditches United for more money at City. We're letting go a back-up player to a team who finished 40 points behind us last season and lost as many games as Newcastle United. I am yet to worry. As much as I appreciate everything he did for the club during his 2 seasons on loan, I would much prefer a fresh face be brought into Old Trafford for £25m (Valenica for example, to play in a traditional 4-4-2 or 4-1-2-1-2) than to keep a player who realistically will be used next season only as back-up to the Rooney-Berbatov partnership.

He must've started 80% of his games on the wing this season, interchanging between left and right. It was only when the 4-5-1 (Rooney playing on the left) formation came into place that he played as the lone striker or interchanging with the lone striker, which in fairness must've been about 7-8 matches tops. And as for the goals, in the season where he scored 42 goals only 6 were penalties which is far from a quarter. 5 were free kicks, 10 were headers and 7 were out of the box. If that's not versatility then I'm not exactly sure what is. He's as over-rated as Torres or Gerrard is tbf. Anyone who believes this Real outfit is just gonna click into place straight away next season is being a tad optimistic though imo. Everytime a freekick needs to be taken, Kaka and Ronaldo will step up. Add Villa, Silva and whoever else to the mix and it's bound to cause some problems. As has been said, it was the defence that was the problem last year. Not so dissimilar to City, they can strengthen the attack as much as they like but it's the teams with great defences that win trophies.

Valencia is top of the list obv. The way things are shaping if we can buy Benzema, Valencia, goalie (Valdes being rumoured lots) + possibly one more player for the £80m then it'll be a good deal imo. If we waste a large sum of the £80m on keeping Tevez at the club then the deal hasn't been so good..
