  1. ^ Totally agree! It's her best track. So catchy, even if it has aged prematurely like everything else from around that time. Why didn't they push this as the lead? Was it because it leaked early or something?
  2. ^ Spiral is stunning. One of my all time faves. Wish it was more readily available. Listening to this loads lately. Such a beautiful arrangement. FoCobbaVqmk
  3. This thread. And this. 1000%. 1.0 are all about those impeccable harmonies. The very end of Run For Cover always gets me.
  4. Me too! Love Amelle's low notes. The ultimate for me, however, was 2.0's White Christmas. 6G75W21GfB0
  5. Heard 4.0's Santa Baby in a shopping centre last night!
  6. Agreed about Song 4 Mutya. Groove Armada have quite a few versions out there too, but it still seems to be wildly unappreciated outside of this forum! :P
  7. You're right! Found this little gem of an article from 2003, and it mentions Darcus Beese is their A&R guy. He must have carried into Mutya's solo project, which would explain the Amy collab, since he was her A&R too. Perhaps Heidi's "the song that Amelle wrote" was taken out of context. Involved in, yes. Wrote, nope. I think Heidi was still pretty bitter about the Mutya situation during the Change era, hence this flippant comment. Anyway, Strung Out definitely should've been the third single - I agree!
  8. Ghosts is stunning. I'm just glad it's actually available on streaming services. At least that way it can rack up some streams/appreciation. I was pretty surprised about Jade's numbers. I thought My Man might have drawn in more streams, but then again, It's My Time had the publicity of Eurovision surrounding it.
  9. This. To me, Mutya's voice represents everything I love about the Sugababes, but I don't necessarily think she's ever played a major role in the writing process (and certainly not Strung Out). Is it possible they bought Amelle's writing credit from her (however small that may have been)? Amelle did a lot of work with Pete Kirtley during Boo2/solo, as though she was his protege. The publication dates for this material are pretty old (2003/2004), so I reckon Kirtley wanted to sell the songs off, and her entrance to the Sugababes was the perfect slot. It gets even more intriguing when you see Amelle had been working with Ali Tennant (also involved in Mutya's album) prior to the band. Perhaps there was some tradeoff between management companies/publishers? Doesn't surprise me that Crown would be so lazy as to use the connections they gained from Amelle on Mutya's halfarsed album.
  10. That really wouldn't surprise me. They've been on a roll with baby making lately... :P
  11. https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/52168...er-first-child/ So happy for her!

That's amazing Simon! :o I love how Keisha does stuff like this. She's always been the most dedicated 'Babe!
  13. Official releases only. In order of Spotify streams (UK Singles Chart peaks included): 1. Never Leave You (Amelle) 5,761,485 (2009 #1, SILVER) 2. Real Girl (Mutya) 2,033,769 (2007 #2) 3. 14. I recently came across the (sublime) original mix of Mutya's Strung Out again, and it got me thinking about the truly messy journey this poor song endured: 54HFgHLs6uQ Without any doubt, this should've been the third single following the release of Real Girl and Song 4 Mutya as the album lead. However, it definitely wasn't meant to be... The song leaked really early on in the campaign, which led to the remastered version we got landed with on Real Girl. In my opinion, this mix totally stripped it of its punch. And then we had that bad press. I remember HMV listing it as the other new track for the Taller rerelease (before being withdrawn), but I don't think anyone expected it to exclusively be Amelle's song. After this interview surfaced, I think Mutya's management (and M herself) wanted to remove any connection with Amelle, and the single release was cancelled (a single mix had been listed on Jeremy Wheatley's website): 3fFcrlwrtZ0 Finally, to top it all off, the original version ended up on some random German band's debut album: Uuv3xQ0WVmo And that was that.
  15. This Is Not Real Love (not the shitty Real Girl album 'mix' though - thank God it's unavailable to stream). Mutya's voice here is just stunning. So smooth; so perfect.
  16. As of December 23rd, Too Lost In You has 15,709,731 overall plays, meaning it's up by 208,981 in just over one week! That's pretty amazing... but also pretty devastating when - in the space of nine days - it's almost eclipsed New Year's overall streams (292,338 - up 3,561). Nonetheless, good to see some progress.
  17. Yep! Just a pity this is the ONLY news we get these days. :(
  18. In what seems to be an immediate buyout, Universal now own Perfect Songs Publishing (Trevor Horn's company, and the publishers of One Touch): https://www.musicbusinessworldwide.com/univ...-perfect-songs/ Given they've went to the effort of acquiring this material, it looks like we may start seeing lots of One Touch material on streaming/digital platforms soon?! 3/4 single packages have always been available, but it's far from a complete collection (remixes/live versions/alternative edits). Imagine they threw in some unreleased stuff too!?
  19. Really nice to see! It actually reentered the French Top 100 back in 2014, so there's always a chance it could make another appearance. It's up to #447 and #1126 on UK iTunes, which has brought Overloaded back into the album chart at #672. Let's see how things go over Christmas!
  20. Unfortunately not. #703 and #1487 on UK iTunes. However, a massive update in France! #57 on iTunes. :o
  21. Another boost today! 2 versions are charting on UK iTunes: TLIY #562 TLIY #1342 That Love Actually impact. B-)
  22. As expected: Too Lost In You #855!
  23. ^ I love this. It's so true, and one of the reasons they've always had such a special place in my heart. Three, in particular, has a certain darkness that's just perfect in times of reflection.
  24. I know what you mean! I adore Freak - and what a comeback it was - but Round Round was absolutely EVERYWHERE in 2002. I think it mesmerised everybody.

December 15th marks 14 years since the release of Too Lost In You. It's become one of their classic tunes, and the most consistent catalogue seller.
