Sugababes ● Sales & Analysis
I know. It's been on reduction for a couple of weeks now (potentially 3) - would be amazing to see it gain some respectable sales. It's been hanging around iTunes for quite a bit (#1148 atm).

Always hated that video. Probably damaged the single's impact, given how important music videos were back then. <_< New Year seems to be enjoying a little Spotify boost at 288,777 plays (up from October's 278,764). Too Lost In You has made much more progress with overall plays of 15,500750 (up from October's 14,414,653). Expect it to increase some more this month, given that Love Actually's now been released to Netflix!

Sugababes ● Sales & Analysis
Song 4 Mutya has been reduced to 59p on iTunes for the week. Can't believe it's probably just over 100k - deserved so much more.

Sugababes ● Sales & Analysis
It's amazing! Could've been the start of their (more than deserved) international success, but there always seemed to be a problem when it came to America. Mutya's pregnancy halted proper Three promo; The Taller plans were scrapped when Mutya left; Keishagate during Sweet 7...

^ Very true! And while it wasn't massive, it held up pretty decently for a new act releasing at the heart of the Christmas period.

17 years since their debut masterpiece
This made me chuckle! I definitely agree. Freak/Round Round were very instant for me, so it took a while to warm to the 'edge' of the first era. Glad I did in the end!

17 years since their debut masterpiece
Tomorrow marks 17 years since the release of the group's debut album, One Touch, and what a stunner it still is. One Touch was certified Gold in the UK (January 2001) and placed within the Top 10 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Can you all remember when you first truly appreciated this wonder of an album? I must admit, it's only in more recent times that I've realised just how magical it is. The singles are unreal.

Ugly's 12th anniversary is creeping up on us too! Mutya's last single. :o

New Year is on 282,455 now ( from 278,764). Not moving that much at all, but I've noticed it's on the 'Classic Christmas' compilation album, so maybe that'll help its streams. Still a bit of time to go yet (even if TLIY will always be seen as their main 'Christmas single').

Sugababes ● Sales & Analysis
Exactly. Their discography is still very impressive out with the UK. You're right about Taller - it was certified for 1 million European sales in 2006, which is really quick! Three and Angels also received awards.

When Spotify added the Love Actually Version to a playlist earlier this month it had a massive impact! Will be nice to see some more chart action in the lead up to Christmas. Latest updates: TLIY iTunes - #166 Australia | #139 Gambia (NE) Also - very random, but great to see! Perhaps the albums have been discounted in these countries? Three Apple Music - #133 Bulgaria (NE) One Touch Apple Music - #47 Mongolia (NE)

Anniversaries
I never really appreciated their work with The Invisible Men (besides Denial). They could've done much better producer wise, given it followed from the massive Taller era.

Anniversaries
Scary stuff! I mean, Overload being 17 years old - I can sort of deal with that because it seems like 1.0 were soooo long ago. But when it comes to the more 'recent' stuff, I can't get my head around how much time has passed. Sweet 7 was almost 8 years ago!

Anniversaries
We have quite a few Sugaversaries this month, so it's time to have a bit of reflection. :cheer: First up is the double A-side, Stronger/Angels With Dirty Faces (November 11, 2002) turning 15 - although, as much as the Xenomania-produced Angels is a pleasant enough track, Stronger was always the main single, wasn't it?. Released as the third single from Angels With Dirty Faces, it went Top 10 in the UK, Netherlands, Noway and Belgium, as well as attaining Top 40 positions in Ireland, Germany, Australia, Sweden, New Zealand, Switzerland and Denmark. It was also chosen for their Live8 performance in 2005, and is a clear favourite (both within the band, and with the general public) from their extensive back catalogue. Next up is Easy's 11th birthday (November 6, 2006) - the lead single from the band's first compilation album, Overloaded (also turning 11 this month!) It's fair to say this track received a mixed response, with many fans expecting considerably more for the launch of Overloaded: the supposed 'celebration' of such an exciting discography. The track peaked Top 10 in the UK - closely missing out on a Top 5 position thanks to the staggered digital/physical release - and was a sizeable hit in Europe, peaking Top 40 in Austria, Germany, Denmark, Finland, Switzerland and Sweden. Easy was released during the same week as Mutya's duet with George Michael (This Is Not Real Love, #15 UK) - a fairly 'low-key' campaign, given the lack of music video or televised/radio performances. Regardless of Easy's reception, however, Overloaded was a solid UK seller (x2 platinum). Although, it must be said that, had there been a stronger lead track, a second single, and a better appreciation of the former band members in their promotional campaign (that artwork...), it's likely that Overloaded would have far exceeded this performance (particularly in Europe, where it was largely unappreciated). Finally, we have About A Girl (November 8, 2009), which turned 8 years old yesterday. Fans tend not to have the fondest memories of the Sweet 7 era, but of the 3 singles, I'd say this is the most tolerable (verging on rather enjoyable, in all honesty!). Scrap the RedOne shoutout, and you have a perfectly acceptable 'Sugababes' single. About A Girl managed a Top 10 position in the UK, but outwith Poland (where they had a mini promo campaign), it flopped in European markets. Had the original Keisha plans went ahead, I have no doubts that this would've been a much bigger hit. As things stand, it's not too far off 200k sales, which isn't that bad, considering the general disaster of Sweet 7.

Definitely! Will be interesting to see how it fares on the charts this year. The LA Version is up to #6 on their Spotify Top 10 now.

Thought it'd be a good idea to have a thread where we can all track the latest chart activity. Here goes... Push The Button has been discounted on UK/Ireland iTunes for the second time this year. It's currently at #178 on Irish iTunes. Last month it managed #153 on UK Spotify, so hopefully it'll make an appearance again soon. The Love Actually Version of Too Lost In You was added to a new Spotify playlist last week, and managed a peak of #174 on Spotify UK. This edit is well over a million plays now, and it's creeped into their Top 10 at #7. Get Shitty has been booted out. :cheer:

Funnily enough, Spotify have just added the Love Actually Version to their #ThrowbackThursday playlist! It's nearing 1 million plays alone.

Sugababes ● Sales & Analysis
ChartMasters have given a throwback to the April 2006 French Singles Chart, when Push The Button was at #29 with sales of 3,443 (having peaked at #17 the week before): http://chartmasters.org/2017/10/flashback-...ance/#more-4328 I love coming across random chart info like this - partly because it's extremely difficult to get their European figures beyond the basic certification levels! It also reminded me what a monster hit PTB was across the world - 150k in Germany, 70k Australia, 50k Sweden, and it can't be that far off platinum in the UK.

What Sugababes/SoloBabes Song Are You Listening To? v2.0
You said it. I've always loved Like The Weather, too. Another track that should've been on the main album - it's quite Three-like to me.
