  1. Are you forgetting how autotuned Higher was?
  2. They killed it. Really enjoyed that, very slick and polished choreography. Great vocals too although I have my doubts that it was completely live.

There is a massive difference between underperforming and flopping. Commercially there is no way that Echo was a flop. Yes it probably didn't meet expectations but it still sold much better than many other artists. That was on the back of one single too as I Got You didn't have much effect at all.
  4. Was it? I think she had performed it on TV once on Jools Holland a few months prior. Yes the video did come out which undoubtedly helped as well as all the hype about Jessie at the time. I just don't think The Sats have enough interest right now but we will see.
  5. The only person it has worked for is Jessie J with Price Tag. As you say, it hasn't really worked great for many others because the sales are spread out instead of condensed into one week. It's a very risky strategy because it gives the perception that a song is "flopping" and can kill it before it has even got started.
  6. Vevo really didn't do this song justice. It sounds even better in HQ. I don't think anyone should be expecting it to race up iTunes. The Sats are hardly Lady Gaga afterall. I think on-air/on-sale for this wasn't the best decision but we'll see how it goes in the UK.
  7. The Edge Of Glory, closely followed by Hair.
  8. This is the Born This Way single thread, the album thread is pinned at the top of the forum.
  9. 01. Higher 02. Ego 03. Up 04. Notorious 06. Issues 07. Work 08. If This Is Love 09. Just Can't Get Enough 10. Forever Is Over Notorious will probably rise because it gets so much better with every listen.
  10. The chorus isn't immediately strong but it does get into your head. Both the "closer baby look in my eyes.." and "I'm a outlaw.." I do think all the robotic effects weren't necessary throughout the whole song. The video is brilliant. Love the part in the office especially.

  12. My rating so far. These will probably change over time: 09 Marry The Night 09 Born This Way 09 Government Hooker 10 Judas 08 Americano 10 Hair 09 Scheiße 09 Bloody Mary 08 Bad Kids 08 Highway Unicorn (Road To Love) 07 Heavy Metal Lover 05 Electric Chapel 09 You & I 11 The Edge Of Glory A few of those will likely rise over time. All of the songs that were released prior to the album grew on me so much with repeated listens (other than The Edge Of Glory which was amazing from the start.) Only one average song for me which is Electric Chapel. I love the production but the chorus is far too weak which is a real shame.

Great banner! I always thought the current one was a bit too big. Hopefully someone changes it. :)
  14. I really hope they get this video right. The song is far too amazing to have a subpar video. It needs to be properly epic to match the euphoria of the song.

This is such a grower. I thought it was really bland at first but I really like it now. I don't think it's strong enough to properly launch them though like Up did for The Sats.
  16. That doesn't sound like it is the confirmed next single to me, it just sounds like she wants it as one at some point. I do hope it is though. :)
  17. Amazing! They would be crazy not to go with this as the next worldwide single as opposed to just the US.
  18. Americano is hilarious.
  19. Amazing album. Definitely not as commercial as I predicted. I think a lot of the harder, rockier tracks will be growers but I do really like every track. My favourites at the moment still remain the ones that we heard early though (The Edge Of Glory, Hair, Judas.) You & I is incredible, so much better with the fuller production. Government Hooker is just insane! Bloody Mary, Marry The Night and Bad Kids are also stand-outs for me right now.
  20. Yes please!
  21. Hair has gone up from my rating of 8/10 to 9/10. The chorus is a 10 and it's only the production that knocks off one point. It's still amazing though. Marry The Night is not as instant but I know it'll grow on me with repeat listens. 7/10 so far.
  22. Well I'm loving the sound of the whole album. It is very throwback (Hair just screams Belinda Carlisle circa Heaven Is A Place On Earth to me) but with a contemporary edge. There's nothing worse for me than great songs with weak choruses and she never fails in that department. I do think some of the tracks we've heard are over-produced which would be my only criticism so far.

The funniest tweet I saw was this from a Nick super fan:
  24. 09 Born This Way (Lord knows it took me a while to get to that rating though.) 10 Judas 11 The Edge Of Glory 08 Hair All brilliant songs. This album is going to be amazing. :D
  25. Agreed. Right now I think it should stay a strong album track.
