Collide was produced by Sandy Vee who is a Grammy-winning producer, and written by Autumn Rowe who was involved with Alexis Jordan's Happiness that also featured an instrumental sample. These aren't amateurs who don't know what they're doing. Why do you think it should have blown over straight away? Things like this take time for everyone to contact each other and sort it out. I firmly believe MoS set out to sabotage Collide and garner publicity for Avicii and his track. It's in their interest to keep the story up so he gets more attention.

Avicii and Ministry of Sound were the first to make public statements on Twitter. This was on the day Collide premiered. Something doesn't add up with their story for me. Avicii and his management claim they didn't hear Collide until it premiered on radio. And yet Ministry of Sound (his label) clearly had heard it in advance because they had sent their plagiarism story to Digital Spy who were instructed to publish it at 4:30pm (the time Collide was set to premiere.) So if MoS had heard it in advance, why had they not contacted Avicii's management to inform them of the situation? The demo of Collide also leaked onto Youtube a few hours before it premiered with a picture of Leona crying which seems very suspect to me. MoS have mentioned the demo on twitter which makes me think they had something to do with that leak. Then you also have Sandy Vee's tweets to Avicii where he was clearly pissed and insulted at the very implication that he may have done something wrong. "Tell the truth or I will!" were his words before he removed the tweets.

He's credited on the song so I don't see how that is possible if he hadn't given his permission. He sent out his track for writers to write over. Now he wants to release his version with the Ministry of Sound so he's pissed. Quite! Leona has been called some appalling names from Avicii fans.

Glad she cleared it up personally. I won't hold my breath waiting for an apology from Ministry of Sound or Avicii. :rolleyes:

There is no legal issue at all. They used a sample and credited where they got it from. Ministry of Sound and Avicii are pissed because they wanted to release their version (Fade to Darkness) and it's now messed up their plans.

It's really not. The general public don't give a $h!t, it's just a few internet fanboys and haters trying to stir things and make it into a bigger deal than it is.

This show has never been about the winner for me because Sugar notoriously makes terrible decisions year after year. It's brilliant entertainment though and never fails to disappoint on that front.

I agree. It's the perfect progression for her: uptempo but it still sounds like a Leona track. As much as I love Outta My Head, it's so far removed from her as an artist that it does feel a bit too try-hard. I also love that even though the production is so big, her voice doesn't get lost and still soars above it all.

Like you said, this is exactly what she needed to release right now. I'm sure they have a safer ballad to launch the album with and perform on X-Factor.

The verses have finally grown on me. They were the only parts I wasn't feeling at first but I love how subtle they are before the big belty chorus. "When you're in unfamiliar places, count on me through life's changes" is a great lyric. I'm glad it's repeated in the song. :)

Absolutely love it. For those underwhelmed, I urge you to stick with it because it's getting better and better with every listen. I wasn't so sure of the melody at first but now it's firmly lodged in my head. :D This is exactly what she needed to bring out right now.
