Sunday Chart Predictions: Part 3
Friday Update The gap between Rage Against The Machine and Joe McElderry in midweek sales figures has narrowed to just under 9,000 copies, as the race for the Christmas number one single goes right to the wire. Rage Against The Machine’s Nineties hit Killing In The Name had established a 60% lead over McElderry’s The Climb earlier this week, only for this to be cut back as the CD single of The Climb hit stores. The latest OCC figures show that Killing In The Name is still ahead – but only just. Killing In The Name has sold just over 306,000 copies so far this week, while The Climb has shifted around 297,000. The Climb has been helped by sales of more than 150,000 CD singles, while sales of Killing In The Name have been entirely digital. Bookmaker Ladbrokes yesterday re-installed The Climb as favourite to top the Christmas charts. With the weekend likely to see many consumers doing their Christmas shopping – and the suitability of The Climb as a stocking filler – the race looks set to go right to the end of Saturday. ====================== Friday Update Singles http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/4722242.JPG 01 Rage Against The Machine 306,115 02 Joe McElderry 297,192 03 Lady GaGa 04 Peter Kay 05 3OH!3 feat. Sunday Chart Predictions: Part 3
The whole point of Leona's XF performance was to sell albums. She's back in the top 10 and that's what matters to them, I guess.
-
Sunday Chart Predictions: Part 2
It wasn't THAT successful, she just peaked at #5 thanks to her XF performance (which was the same night as Cheryl's with a massive 14M audience) and spent only 2 weeks in the top 10. ILTY hasn't been promoted anywhere in the UK and it's not played on the radio, so I don't see how it would chart.

Pogues 11+11 Mariah 15+12 Band Aid and Wham! not top 40.

Wow @ this lead! I'm starting to think RATM could actually overtake Joe's advantage with physicals.

Not top 40. Edit: well, you've got your answer lol.

I guess if they had chosen Don't Stop Believin' as the winner song, everybody would have said Joe was favoritized. But yes, it would have sounded much better than this dull Miley cover. 3 Words is holding strong at #6!

iTunes Chart: December III
There's absolutely ZERO chance Joe won't be #1 next Sunday. His physicals will be huge and he will outsell everyone by at least 2:1, including this RATM thing.

I expected Joe to *climb* wayyy faster. He will definitely be #1 with the physicals, though.

Maybe I Wish wouldn't have been a flop if one of the two girls didn't have such an HORRENDOUS voice. I love the song, but I can't listen to it because of her. She sounds like Alesha Dixon with a cold.

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE FOR XMAS NUMBER 1.
This Facebook page is hugely frequented! This is never going to work and it will be an epic #2 fail, but still, nice try.

OMG. This is sick! Joe's going to outsell them in an hour, though. Cheryl.i.am #5!
