  1. Why on earth was she doing club nights for Birmingham Pride 2011 then?! And believe me, she looked ROUGH.
  2. Let's be honest, without the Sugababes tag, Keisha is pretty much a nobody to 99% of the general public. Like it or not, the Girls Aloud members are all known individually far more than the Sugababes - past and present. Like Andre said, she's only known as "the black one from the Sugababes" to the majority. Definitely heading for a Jade Ewen/Nadina Coyle solo career unfortunately. If it gets that far.

I love this!!! Cannot wait to hear it in full. :D
  4. The officials are out for the week, and the Eurovision got 9.68m - almost one million ahead of the 1999 contest! Figures for 1997 and 1998 aren't available, but I'm guessing they were probably slightly bigger than this year's. Even so, definitely the most watched since at least 1998, and the most watched programme of the week; ahead of EastEnders, Corrie, The Apprentice, Britain's Got Talent, Doctor Who and Emmerdale.
  5. Well that's the first time since the 50/50 split that the juries and public have disagreed on the winner! Would've been questionable had Sweden won the public vote though, and Azerbaijan hadn't won either of the jury only/public only vote! The jury vote definitely f***ed us over, but what can we do really? They dragged us up to fifth in 2009, where we would've finished tenth were it only the public voting. And I think Blue coming fifth on the public vote ALONE can finally put this "nobody votes for us because nobody likes us" argument. Obviously it won't, as these lists won't exactly reach the UK media. Well actually, it wouldn't surprise me if they did, but they'd put the "the juries didn't votes for us because they don't like us" spin on it, forgetting the 2009 situation.

I hope they do move it to May 12th. I wouldn't be too surprised if they did either tbh... Late Eurovisions make May seem so long too. :(

Speaking of swearing during the Eurovision...who noticed this one? _mKnnq7u9LE
  8. Ooooh can someone please PM me a link to the full standard edition please?! Would be muchos appreciated!

I think I'm beginning to give up hope on going to Baku... Cheapest flights are like £500 return from Heathrow to Baku which is ridiculous! I would be prepared to go to Russia and then get a train to Azerbaijan, just for the laugh, but apparently foreigners can't go over the Russian border by train?!

Oh I forgot about this. :o I should think they will withdraw then won't they... I didn't realise it was that bad though, that they couldn't enter the country!

I've been listening to Ukraine LOADS since Saturday. It's actually a pretty decent song, and the gimmick in the performance added a lot to it.

I don't think it makes much difference whether it goes back to 24 songs tbh. Only a case of getting rid of Switzerland and Moldova for this year's show. And you think Armenia may withdraw Tyron? I can't see it myself... In fact, I fully expect them, and Turkey, to come back with absolute belters next year after this year's flops.
  13. I had to miss the 2004 songs as it was my friend's birthday... Now I'm an out and out gay and everyone knows how much I obsess over it, I wouldn't miss it for anything. Like...nothing at all. Obviously I wouldn't stay in on a Saturday night in this day and age either, and this year I just went out after it.
  14. I always like to work this out, as it is easier to work out if it was a 'low scoring' year or not, with pre-2004 winners usually getting between 160-200 points. Anyway, this year would've been one of the lowest scoring winners ever during the current 1-8, 10 and 12 voting system. Azerbaijan 117Italy 106Sweden 95Moldova 79Denmark 77Bosnia-Herzegovina 75Ireland 71Ukraine 70Germany 66Georgia 63Greece 62Hungary 53Slovenia 52Iceland 49Serbia 47Russia 46Romania 46United Kingdom 44Austria 44Lithuania 42Finland 40Estonia 31France 31Spain 27Switzerland 15 As some of you will know, I'm all for bringing back a finalists only voting system, so we get the excitement of all the votes being announced again and the general tightness in the voting! May reconsider that slightly though after our shockingly low finish here!
  15. So excited for this! Really hope it's a good song and successful for them.
  16. Christ...what a night! Best voting for AGES, and despite being gutted we didn't do that well, I'm pleased Azerbaijan won. £500 for a return flight too? Pffft...I was actually considering going too, but won't be able to afford that. Story of the night surely has to be Italy too. No one saw that coming! Absolutely bizarre set of votes. Loved it! And then it was topped off with going out at 2.00am and having four hours of non-stop dancing to Eurovision songs at my local gay bar!
  17. Didn't Shady Lady finish second?

I actually kinda like Moldova! :( This year has turned out to be a pretty amazing year!
  19. Well...I've run through the voting and come out with this. I'm tired, excuse any bizarre errors. I've been saying France are going to win for days, but I'm beginning to doubt their ability to landslide it now. The last three winners have all been ahead by a pretty high margin, and have all been pretty modern songs... Fourth year in a row wouldn't be too surprising at all... In all honesty though, I really don't know, and now the fact that I'm predicting Germany so high is making me even more confused! United Kingdom 278France 257Germany 243Azerbaijan 232Russia 174Denmark 141Estonia 135Hungary 132Sweden 130Ukraine 115Austria 105Ireland 93Greece 82Bosnia-Herzegovina 67Serbia 65Italy 38Romania 35Georgia 33Slovenia 29Finland 28Moldova 22Iceland 21Switzerland 19Lithuania 13Spain 7
  20. I'm mid-way through doing my final predictions...the audience reactions are making me think that France aren't going to walk this after all? I can't see many countries not voting for us tbh... I'll be done in like an hour or so anyway. :manson:

Ok so 30 of my 40 songs are Eurovision ones. f***ing hell! That's worse than 2009!

  23. I think we over analyse the draw slightly tbh, especially now you can vote when you like and half of the votes come from the juries! That said, the UK and France both have very good positions! With France, I don't think it makes a blind bit of difference where they perform though as it's unique enough to stand out wherever it is. Definitely good for us though, and I'm glad Ireland appear to be slightly screwed. :D

I noticed this too! Will be listening out again tonight to see if it's repeated! I still think we can win it, and if it isn't us then it'll be France, which is still fine by me! Definitely hoping to go next year, so it's quite convenient that the three favourites are the United Kingdom, France and Ireland! Azerbaijan is a bit far though...
  25. Slovenia is just mehhh. Sorry, but in a semi final with a fair few ballads, I don't see it standing out above the rest. Even if it does have a better position in the draw. And I can see Latvia shocking a few people and doing pretty well, it's a really good song that, imo, is jury and viewer friendly.
