Agreed! I actually feel quite upset that they didn't make it, rather than just shocked. :( Was totally getting in the mood for full on supporting them on Saturday!

Same...but, at the same time, this is making it even more unpredictable, which I like in a final. Azerbaijan haven't got this in the bag at all, so we could have some really exciting votes on Saturday!

There's no way Azerbaijan can win if she performs like she did tonight. But then...I was certain Croatia and Sweden would go through so I'm doubting everything I say right now!

I know it was a shame the last couple of votes sealed fourth for Turkey tbh but mehhh. I do love Dum Tek Tek though...probably the song I still enjoy most to this day from last year's contest. Along with, bizarrely, The Balkan Girls. :lol:

Looking back, I think we all did overestimate Slovakia a tad. Well, obviously we did because it didn't qualify, but I suppose if we had given it more thought, then we would have realised that it perhaps wasn't as much of a dead cert as we were saying. I mean, I predicted it to win their semi, but I didn't think it would even go top ten in the final - maybe even not top 15 - so my prediction of them winning their semi, in hindsight, was a little bizarre. Croatia is different though - vocally very strong, sung near the end, three attractive women, sung before the sub-standard Georgian entry, more jury friendly, a great record in the semi finals (in 2007 and 2009 they qualified with pretty poor songs) and generally a better song anyway. I might actually cry if they don't make it as well tbh.

Apparently she's been giving a really good, strong performance though. Can definitely see it qualifying myself, and then coming in the bottom five on Saturday.

Another blogger on AKOE - one who usually comes out with more down to earth, realistic comments - has also slated this today: I can see where he's coming from with regards to that horrendous "scurry" that she does. She literally does this weird run from the front of the stage back onto the main part, whilst singing.

I bet it'll be Albania then...that was the reason they had to use their jury in 2008 wasn't it? Surprised the interest is so low over there, particularly with them being so eager and announcing their song ridiculously early every year!
