  1. For me I would say it is I Guess I Like It Like That...... It did not fit on the Lets Get To It album, and would have been a poor choice even for a b-side Glad To Be Alive is even better than it.

How would civil liberties increase? This would not stop crime. How does DNA storage make society safer most crimes committed are not solved using DNA and can't be solved by DNA. All DNA storage does is give the government another tool to use against the oridnary person

The thing about the British style of government is referendums do not occur, it is not a British political history. Should we have a referendum, yes. We should have a lot of them on more subjects than just Europe. However the likes of the Sun distort so many of the facts that the average Sun reader is misinformed about Europe and many other things. Europe has been helpful to the British public, without it we'd have no minimum wage, no right to paid holidays, no freedom of information, no equality of gays in the armed forces, no human rights legislation enshrined in law, no right of travel and work rights across Europe. No free trade with our neighbours. Do we want to loose all of that and much more by being xenophobic?
  4. Its not the first time you have seen someone smoke and use there mobile at the same time. Smoking at the wheel is a distraction just as drinking coffee would be

But nobody has the right to take our DNA unless we have been convicted of a crime, after all that's the case in Scotland
  6. I don't disagree that they have been politicised in the past I just don't think they should be. Although I also think China should never have been awarded the games
  7. This is another example of the hysteria around today about paedophilia. I can't help thinking that that photo of the naked baby on Nirvanas nevermind album would be considered paedophilia today. After all an image of a naked child is considered an obscene photo by the British courts
  8. We are an EU country as such EU citizens working in this country are entitied after a period of residence to be treated equally to citizens in the country of residence. The UK may be losing in this benefit but citizens of our country in Sweden for example are entitled to their benefits that are paid at a much higher rate than ours. That is the beauty of the system. You win some you loose some.
  9. there is a lot of natural resources there, but the yanks would be too scared too interfere in a country bordering both China and India, the worlds next two super powers
  10. If you are on remand you have not been convicted of a crime, which means in this country you are innocent until proven otherwise, so why shouldn't you not be in prison. If you are found not guilty you will be ultimately released, so this scheme is not in reality a bad idea as it is only targeting minor offenders. In my opinion though this country uses prison as punishment far too much. I believe prison should be a last resort, and used only for violent and sex offenders, and only then for people who are a serious risk of reoffending, everyone else should be receiving help to change their behaviour, and suitable community punishment. In my humble opinion it is ridiculous that someone who steals money or a drug dealer normally gets a longer sentence than violent thugs or even in some case people convicted of manslaughter.

Abortion is not birth control and rarely used as such, sure there might be a few people who have mis-used it, by does that mean everyone else should suffer because of that, no. As for those of you that argue its a human life etc.... a fotues can not survive independently until it reaches 20 odd weeks and most countries ban abortion at around this point except for extreme circumstances, some people have also stated that new born babies can't survive without their mothers either, but there is a huge difference, while in the womb the foetus is totally dependent on one person, who should have complete control over their own body, once outside the womb the child is not reliant solely on the mother as so many posters seem to state. Yes the mother is generally the main care giver but anybody could look after a newborn, and there is a big distinction in law from the moment of birth we are legal people before birth we are not. All those people that talk about abortion being immoral is not helpful, people who truly believe that should be asking the government to support mothers more, but yet funny enough a lot of these people often call single mothers welfare spongers, and their children problems, so it's no wonder many of these young woman who find themselves in this position have an abortion.

DNA does not really solve rapes, 90% of people who claim to be rape know the person they accused. All DNA does is identify the person they have slept ,it does not resolve wether the person was raped or not, otherwise the 5% of rape claims that currently end in conviction would be 99%-100%. DNA solves no crime it only indicates a person was in the area, or had contact with the 'victim', it doesn't answer the question, it only adds another layer of evidence. The general public have been led to believe that DNA is the be all and end all of crime fighting, when in fact it is only one more clue
  13. The Olympics should not be politicised, if it were then no democracy should take part in the beijing games. Chinas human rights record is hardly any better than Burmas. Asean and India should really flex their power in Burma, but then most of Asean is hardly a bastion of freedom, and even though India is a democracy it has its own human rights violation in Assam and Kashmir.
