To state the obvious, I like Lee but Crystal was robbed. However, coming in second might have been a good thing since there will be less pressure on her now. I can't wait for her first album.
  3. I'm sorry to say that this show has gone off the rails yet again. They just can't seem to keep it together. They are constantly introducing new characters and storylines with no lead up whatsoever. Then they drop them with no warning. It's like the writers are all in separate rooms and don't talk to each other.

  5. is there a full-length mix of this ? Hate to settle for just the radio edit.
  6. Poor Haddaway. Will he ever have another hit ?
  7. Never expected them to get back together. I'm glad they are but not sure how I feel about the original female members being gone. Hard to replace half your group like that.
  8. I'll give Petey credit for one thing, he's always been an original. Like him or not.
  9. Love her. But does she never take a break so we can miss her ?
  10. 99 Luftballoons ? Probably not but I'm still stuck in the 80's.
  11. Damn, some of these are professional quality work. Love a good graphic designer!
  12. Neither. By then, I would have chopped my ears off.
  13. Unfortunately, every single that followed Sinead O'Connor's incendiary 'Nothing Compare 2U"
  14. Not to pick an obvious one, but I still think Paula Abdul's 'Straight Up' video is very cool and clever. The dance moves in black and white really pop.
  15. At some point, classic albums start to get taken for granted. There's sometimes an assumption that they must automatically be overrated, which can be true in some cases. In spite of the fact that many of Rumours tracks have been overplayed, it doesn't diminish the album's power that much. But I'll admit, I could go a long time before I had to hear Don't Stop again. Maybe it should stop, for a while.
  16. You have lots of obvious people like Madonna, Michael, Duran Duran. But plenty of other artists made MTV into what it used to be. Eurythmics, Bananarama, Culture Club & the first ever female performer aired on MTV, Pat Benatar.

  19. Sweet. That song and video have been begging for "commentary" for a long time. Let's start with that clay bust of Lionel's huge head . . .

If you're going to talk about Madonna there's a bottomless pit of great album tracks from her: Ain't No Big Deal Stay White Heat Dear Jesse Can't Stop Swim Words
  21. There seems to be way too much emphasis put on image today, even more so than in the '80's. And most music today is being marketed towards 12 year olds with no taste. I think because of these things you've going to have fewer artists who last long enough to have multiple memorable hits. People like Beyonce, Alicia Keys are image-conscious but are also genuinely talented and are likely to last and be remember for their music.
  22. Any list of this type is going to be fairly predictable. Michael, Madona, Cyndi, Peter, Prince, A-Ha, Dire Straits, etc. Always fun shows to watch, though.

If you want great, independently run stations in every genre in creation, you can't beat Live365. I used to have a retro radio station there. It can't be beat. Finally some radio stations that aren't programmed by computer or committee.

This is actually a great idea for a radio station. "No Hit Wonderful"
