  1. "The Day UK Democracy Died"? That happened a loooooong time ago.
  2. And they really think someone's going to spend TWELVE HOURS listening to the radio? I know there's no football then, but… DAMN. Hopefully I'll be too drunk to hear most of it. Either that or still on a bender - especially since I don't return to work until January 5th.
  3. Wasn't it in the chart of 23 December 2007?

You should see the games section in Preston's Woolies - they've either got games no-one wants, or have been "temporarily" out of stock since September. And it's not hard to see why they're going down the drain - the company that I work for has a supplier that can sell us (for example) A4 week to view diaries for about 50p. Woolies' price for the same type? £4.99. And it's a shame to see them in this much sh!t - I've got fond memories of them. Especially since my first job was as a Saturday girl in the main Edinburgh branch.
  5. Walk This Way has been - thanks to that God-awful cover of it for Comic Relief last year.
  6. To Alanis Morrisette - "Are you aware that the events of your song 'Ironic' aren't ironic, but merely 'unfortunate events'?"

Possibly the same as in 1998, when both Angels and Never Ever were shortlisted, despite both being released in 1997.
  8. Who ever thought it would be used in a commercial? rTthvxpzNDM (Good taste, though - it was one of my favs this year.)
  9. Mistake No3 - They say that Madonna sampled "Gimme Gimme Gimme" on "Hung Up" in 2006. I thought it was 2005.
  10. Is it? I'm looking at Friday's listing on ITV1, and - Corrie aside - it looks as rubbish as ever.
  11. Good about the show coming back. Bad about the presenters - but isn't that what the mute button is for?
  12. I've got a run of seven in 2005: 1016: Oasis - The Importance Of Being Idle 1017: Gorilla - Dare 1018: Pussycat Dolls featuring Busta Rhymes - Don't Cha 1019: Sugababes - Push The Button 1020: Arctic Monkeys - I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor 1021: Westlife - You Raise Me Up 1022: Madonna - Hung Up PS - I know it's got Westlife, but I actually like that one. Run stopped, rather bizarrely, by the Pussycat Dolls.
  13. It's simple - press down the shift key and press 3 several times.
  14. He said the ones that didn't rechart last year - I believe that was No20 in the 23rd December 2007 chart (the one immediately before Christmas).

I guess they've figured that, due to EastEnders, Doctor Who and the movie at 3.10pm, they don't want a guaranteed fourth ratings-winner (possibly the show before the Queen's speech?).
  16. It could be worse - because it had a 12A rating*, people were taking their kids to see The Dark Knight. Now that's SERIOUSLY f***ed up. * - It easily should have been a 15.
  17. If she's who I think she is, I wonder how many people are going to be disappointed when they find out that she's a WAG and discover that her footballing fellow plays for… Peterborough of League 1. Afaik, he didn't have any. (His son did, but not him.)

Nope - Kevin Bond is already Asst Manager of Spurs.

No, there's some competitions that are even more worthless than the Carling Cup. Such as the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, that World Club Cup thing in Japan* and the European Super Cup. * - It was meant to be a more open competition than the one-off match that put the winners of the Champions League and the Copa Libertadores. Those two competitions have provided the finallists each year since its introduction.
  20. So much for the lessons learnt after Victoria Climbie.

If he was very nationalistic, why didn't he do it in Austria?
  22. I think referees would be respected if, after they made a mistake, they held their hands up and admit it. Soooo many of them don't. And to think that managers get punished if they say something about a decision that could ultimately cost them their job.
  23. 15/646. But there does seem to be a point - using it in another field, how many teams in the top four divisions have black managers? I can only name two - Blackburn and Macclesfield.
  24. If they have a game starting at 12.30pm - like what the BBC did - they wouldn't have to. Maybe 1993 didn't happen for him.
